Food was good, but service soooo bad; rude and not friendly employees. The employees were to busy with their iPad instead of checking on the customers. read more

not bad for airport food. Freaking expensive though, but you do get 20% off if you use the Chase United card. It helps. Service started out kind of slow but got a lot better before we left. Food really wasn't too bad. The calamari was fried perfectly. The croquet Monsieur was completely evil - the french dip was OK - the prime rib probably was as expected, a bit fatty. read more

This place is HORRIBLE. The ordering platform is clunky and takes forever and you have to scan a QR code to order at all. Took like 30 minutes to get a single order of fries. And super expensive AND you have to pay the whole tab INCLUDING THE TIP before you ever get any service. read more

TERRIBLE!!!!! This restaurant is super cute for an airport restaurant but don't be tempted ... the food could not be worse. Our eggs and bacon came out cold and the bacon wasn't even cooked (fat was cold and I cooked). I asked to speak to a manager and I was told that our server would help us. Nope. We were ignored completely and since we already paid and tipped via the ordering app we were screwed. Assuming they know that, hence no help. Awful all around. read more

One star is too much. Unless you are starving and you have at least an hour to waste, don't eat here. Your money is better spent at Hudson News on popcorn and a water. From lackadaisical service (40 min for a sandwich - and not crowded) to subpar food, this place runs the gamut of crappiness. read more

Surprised by so many bad reviews. This was some of the best airport food I've had. Shrimp cocktail was really excellent- super fresh and enormous prawns with a great cocktail sauce! French dip sandwich served with jus and horseradish sauce on the side was served the classic plain way and the flavor and tenderness of the meat was exactly right. iPad ordering system defaults to 18% tip when you order but you can change that if you wish and leave some cash after your meal (I wouldn't recommend that personally). Nice waiter, set us up as needed. read more

Will talk later about the food. The management are the waiters were extremely unprofessional and arrogant. My wife wanted something with chicken so when she asked the waiter suggested her something with "hen of the wood".Later when the food was served my wife was amazed to know that "hen of the wood" was mushroom. We told the waiter that it was mushroom to which he said that "he did not know that" .We then reported this to the manager as well to which(a lady) said that she can refund the money to us :). Yes that is it .Not even a polite apology. The food was ok and not great and the portions were small.I would rather suggest die of hunger than go here to eat again. And we visited this place on 11th January 2017.I completely forgot this pathetic incident so forgot to write a review as-well .We visited there while we were travelling back from India. read more

Really good breakfast. Surprisingly good for the airport food. Good coffee. IPad ordering a little weird but intuitive. Fresh omelette. A little sketchy on getting that first cup of coffee but they recovered nicely. Seems there is no good time to have a staff meeting at an airport restaurant since you're never closed. read more

Loved the service and selections. Very friendly staff. Ordered the Salad Nicoise, the chicken fingers and a few beers. Great quality. Kudos to David, thanks for the service bud! read more

Despite bad reviews on Yelp, this place is a gem. Really good quality airport plates. We had the burger and French Dip. The fries were also amazing (think boardwalk fries for those of you from Jersey.) Prices are a little steep but definitely a solid find if you are in the United Terminal :) read more

You seat yourself and enter your own order on a touch screen in front of you and are immediately asked to provide the tip. The advance tip must explain the horrible service. Despite it not being a busy time, Nobody noticed me and other than all my appetizer and food coming out at once I did not see another server for the balance of my visit. The calamari was poor and the salad had a foul taste difficult to get rid of. All in all a total waste of a meal. You are better off at the food court. read more

Actually, a bit better than many of the surrounding establishments, so worth two stars! The food actually looked like that on the picture, this time. I haven't sent food back in years... until now. The bread on my turkey sandwich was so badly burned, that it felt like I bit into briquette. The second attempt was better. They charge 80 cents for milk with your tea. WTF? The staff is lukewarm, which is a lot better than the cold ones at the previously reviewed places here at Newark. So, by contrast, things are looking up! 100% improvement from the one star. read more

RUN don't walk from this place. Better to get on the plane hungry. Service was atrocious and food was sub-par for the ridiculous price they charge. I only ate in this expensive place because I wanted to be full for an international flight. Boy was I wrong. Had to send back one of our dishes because it was completely raw inside. Got a replacement was out of drink. Not once did the waiter common replace the drink even when I asked the waiter cleaned off the entire table next to me and then brought my mind drink. Everybody was already done with the mule by the time they drink came. Food was no better than fast food. Pictures are deceiving. Sad to say. Stay away. Not worth the money. Still hungry. Can't believe I'm actually looking forward to the airplane food read more

Food wasn't prepared accordingly. Was a French dip with no dip. They didn't bring my food out till about 45 min later. Then didn't bring my drink till I was already done with my meal and aggravated I wasn't even brought utensils or napkins. read more

Travel at least once a month through this terminal and will not eat here again. I'm over five months pregnant and ordered a kids meal (wanted a grill cheese hoping the bread would settle the baby down before the flight). No one came to check on us even after pressing the server button. Finally flagged someone down and mentioned I didn't receive my drink. They said I'm not allowed to get my drink since I'm not a child. Geeze you should have mentioned that earlier and I would have happily paid but not 3/4 though my meal with no beverage. BTW. The grill cheese was terrible, very dry and chewy. Other places to eat that are much better. read more

I am in the food and beverage industry and I do not want to be too critical of restaurants in general. Yet, I am giving this restaurant a generous 2 star for a combination of reasons. Food quality is merely acceptable, but not impressive. The ingredients were good but the preparation was subpar. I did order their basic burger to be cooked to medium that was $28. Now let's see what I received for it. The burger showed up 20 minutes later and was well done instead of medium which turn out to be too dry. The fries were room temperature and not crispy at all. The burger bun was good. I ordered a well (house brand) vodka that was $18. The drink was weak and appeared to have 1.25 oz of vodka instead of at least a 1.50 oz. of vodka (minimum standard restaurant pour size for this price). You have to input and order your own food and beverage on an iPad. So your server is merely a food porter, but they will help you to place your order! They do not accept cash payment and It seems that this system is set up to protect the restaurant against cash handling issues by the staff, and you become a part of the internal control system without your choice. In general, this place is in the business of highway robbery. read more

Avoid! Sat down, ordered a meal and drinks. Nothing came for 25 mins, not even the drinks. Then a waiter showed up telling me they did not have what I ordered. It was getting close to my flight time so I asked them to just cancel the order and refund everything. Took them another 20 mins to do so. Never seen service this bad read more

We flew through Newark on our way home from Italy and had a long layover. We tried to go find a place to eat, and were disappointed that all of the restaurants were iPad ordering. We finally settled on Saison because they had a true kitchen so we thought the food would be good and we could hang out there for awhile. We were shocked to see the prices, but the restaurant was clean and we were greeted right away and didn't have any better option. Our food was good (burger and French dip) but definitely not worth the price. The burger was a speciality burger, and only came with lettuce and tomato. You had to pay extra for your cheese, onions, etc. after you already paid $23. The service was terrible though. I don't expect much from airport restaurants, but this was a new low. We didn't get water refills and the server never came by to check up on us. There were at least 10 staff members there and it wasn't busy at all. The only interaction we had was when we first sat down (to see if we knew how to order ourselves) and when someone dropped the food off and left before we could ask for the other things we needed. Next time I'll just grab something reasonably priced from a quick service place and wait out the layover at my gate. read more

Cool spot with electrical ports at every table so you can charge your devices while you eat and relax. You also order food and pay on a tablet that's at the table. Completely overpriced, completely understaffed. Looks nice from the outside and possibly a good place to relax prior to flying out, but give it a pass. A "large" glass of wine cost $30 base. It took 25 minutes for it to arrive. When the waitstaff found out I only ordered wine and not food, I was yelled at for sitting in one of the "outdoor" tables instead of at the crowded bar (not trying to catch Covid at the airport) despite them not saying anything about it prior to sitting down. Save your money, find a different spot in the airport. read more

Went in when the place was empty. Ordered a glass of 9 oz red wine and salmon for entree. $67. Not big deal. Airport foods. I understand. The drink came out 10' after ordered. Waited for another 25' the entree was still missing. At this point there were 3 other people came in and got their foods and drinks. My flight was boarding in 20'. Talked a waiter and waited another 10'. Turned out they delivered my food to the wrong table regardless the place was empty. Wasted my time. Poor management. If you rated your place three dollar sign one, at least deserve it. I own a business myself, I know. Fail!!! read more

First of all I'd like to say how impressed I was with the pricing. Everything on the menu was at a great value. Second of all I want to compliment the taste and quality of all we ordered. I went with my family of five and they had enough variety to keep everyone happy and well fed. My wife and I had grilled ahi with rice and beans and it was both fresh and delicious. What a great local spot that I wouldn't have know about unless my family brought us there. I have family that have lived in the area for decades and they took us there for lunch. Man am I glad they did. Onolishous read more

Horrible business model, THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH, at all, as a payment type. They don't tell you this or post signage to notify you. After sitting down and getting my drink and trying to place my order I was informed could not pay cash. As a matter of principle I picked my bags up and promptly left. How, in a major international airport, is cash not accepted as a form of payment! Now I know why there was no one In the restaurant when we sat down. read more

I really enjoy this spot. The staff is super warm and helpful. Any modification you need to make to food and or drinks is easy and welcome. This place is not very good period! Pricing is ridiculous...fine dining pricing with run of the mill diner food. How is it that you order on an iPad and they still get your food order wrong? Waited about 10 minutes to get my coffee...when the first ones arrived they had a ring of coffee grinds floating at top of mug so of course it was sent back...quickly I received a new cup but was not given a spoon or sugar...so now I'm waiting again. Don't mess with a customers morning coffee! Shortly thereafter I received my two slices of bread (French Toast) for $18....it's not the Ritz Carlton! Do yourself a favor....choose starvation before you walk in this place Seems they have a scripted response to all their negative feedback as well! read more

When it comes to airport restaurants it's never fair to assume you will get good service. In fact you can expect the laziest and impersonal service. This place is the perfect example. The bartender (had slick backed hair) - 12/22/14 You have to out an order on an ipad and then swipe your card in order for it to go through. Never have seen that before. Well the bartender forgot to tell me that I needed to swipe my card for the order to go through. He only explained how to order my food. I sat there for 30 minutes just waiting for food that was never going to come. I told the other bartender what happened he said, "oh no sorry" and walked away. Great restaurant concept for an airport and nice menu but the bartenders there are foul. read more

My husband went to this place to do work, and asked if it was okay to set up and order just a drink. The man said we could pick a bar table or sit at the bar counter, so my husband proceeded to set up his laptop while my sister and I went to get water for the plane. He ordered a lemonade and I came back to join him. While I was looking through the menu and looking to pick a salad and drink, this man charges up to the table and yells aggressively, "Hey! You can't just order a little lemonade with no tip and take up our table! Either get out or go to the bar counter!" We explained that we were still planning to order and were planning to tip before leaving and he said "WHAT will you order, because you can't just get that and take up a table" in a very rude tone. Please note- there were so many tables available. The man and most other staff had their masks over their mouths with their noses exposed. You may as well not wear it. As a nurse who worked in a covid unit, it is pretty disappointing to see that even in an airport, restaurant safety is preposterous. read more

It's really too bad that this place isn't better. But I agree with Paul B.'s review - the service is mediocre. How can it be so bad!? And it's not that the people are bad - they are actually really nice. They just are never around! If you want/need something or think that you might in the next hour, you better ask for it when you finally have someone come to your table. The problem is that you order everything on the iPad, and pay for it up front - including tip. I mean, how can you tip before you receive service? Then you just feel like they took the tip and ran. It's really disappointing. I guess you can just keep using the iPad to summon someone - maybe that works? Who knows. If I ever return here, I will just sit at the bar. Food wise, they have a good concept here. We ordered the charcuterie plate which was terrific except it didn't come with any bread which I thought was odd. (And it took 15 minutes to finally receive some upon request, at which point most of the plate was already finished). They can dramatically improve if they just check in with the customers more frequently. That's it. It's an airport - people might be in a hurry. Allowing them to pre-pay doesn't quite cut it. If we didn't want service of any kind we'd go to the food court! read more

There are not very many affordable food options at Newark Liberty International Airport and we decided to hit this one up. It was one of those restaurants where you order from an iPad and the food gets delivered to you. They had outlets at each station which was nice. This place was outrageously expensive, though other restaurants in the airport were comparable. Our bill was just over $31 for two French onion soups, a Diet Coke and tip. $11 for soup?! And it was incredible salty and made my stomach uneasy. The drink was barely 6 oz for $3.50. Quite a rip off. Service was mediocre at best, my mom was missing a napkin, I asked the server for one for her, he never got her one! He could have grabbed one off the next table! All the servers were dressed like mimes and were standing around not doing much. Ugh. read more

Don't order the coffee. There's something wrong- it has this weird sour taste. It tastes as if they use the same water that is used on the airplane for tea. Blech. My oatmeal was decent. Horrible experience. All I wanted was to sit and have a cafe latte before my flight. You order and pay on an iPad and wait..... And wait and wait.
