Arguably a significant time for those jobs. But ok. Leave and come back at 4:00 and my car hasnt even moved. Ok, why take appointment if it has no value. Is my first question. Then when you drop the car off. Why not tell the customer that they are running way behind. It would of saved me bothering neighbors for rides I didnt need I wont be back

EDIT: Oxford reached out to me, and I appreciate their efforts to make things right. There was a…read morenumber of things this location did wrong, mainly boiling down to moving too quickly and skipping/missing important steps in the customer service process, but they did work with me on resolving these. They did replace the spark plugs on my car, as they'd replaced them previously and they were under warranty. I did choose to do the ignition coils myself, as I was able to purchase the same OEM parts significantly cheaper (25%) and do the job myself in ten minutes. ORIGINAL: Price gouging and predatory behavior. I've come to Oxford's multiple times before for scheduled maintenance with no issues, but I brought my car (~10yr old Honda, nothing fancy) over after hours urgently, because of an engine misfire and a 'SERVICE IMMEDIATELY' notification. When they opened and checked it in, they sent me an approval form for a $200 diagnostic charge, higher than I've ever had anywhere else, and not waived if you get the repair with them. I called for some clarification, and then a few minutes later found that they had started the diagnostic without getting my approval - apparently Kevin W took my asking a question as implicit approval. Annoying, but I was hoping to go ahead anyway so I let it go. A few hours later, I get another call from Kevin with the results of the diagnostic. I hadn't received an inspection report with details like I usually would have, and he said I needed new spark plugs and ignition coils, quoting me at around $1,100 for this. I can't give the exact value, because I was never sent the estimate, even after I specifically asked for it. I only received the inspection report at that time, but with no estimate or approval request. This is an absolutely absurd cost. I'm by no means a car guy, but this is something I can order all the parts for less than $130, and will only take an hour or so of my time. I have absolutely no idea what the hell they're doing that would make this cost more than $300-$500, at absolute most. Now, if they over-quoted me because they're busy and don't want the work - then just tell me that I'm either going to wait a few days or that I need to take it elsewhere. What this looks like to me is that they tried to take advantage and overcharge someone in a bind, thinking that I'd pay whatever they ask so my car was drivable again. I feel like the lack of a written estimate to look over before sports this. If so, this is predatory behavior from a repair shop, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I didn't even make it to the point of having them put new tires on my BMW. I ordered some tires from tire rack, and it chose precision as my shop. Per tracking info my tires were to arrive on a Wednesday. To get ahead of the curve of a busy schedule, I called to schedule an appointment for that day. They told me they wanted to wait until the tires arrived to schedule. Lo and behold, they showed just as tracking info stated, and could not get me in until the day after or Friday. They called me to schedule the appointment when the tires arrived and quoted 3 or more hours to mount and balance tires because they are "low profile tires". Upon telling them I would just pick up my tires and take it to another shop, they said "well they are your tires" and hung up on me. They are not customer friendly, and try to overcharge to make a quick buck. If you need a good tire shop located in Delaware, go to RNR tire on Sandusky st. They are fair priced, an absolute pleasure to work with and only seem to hire good knowledgeable technicians. RNR has my business for life, stay AWAY from Precision Alignment.

However, any mechanical repair is extremely expensive. I received an estimate to change the sway away bars, rear suspension/rear shock absorbers and change the tripods for close to $1,500. I found a local small shop mechanic that did it for less than $700. Also, on another vehicle, the horn wasn't working, so Oxford gave me an estimate to fix it for $450. I reviewed YouTube videos and was able to fix it myself, since the problem was simply that the ground cable was not making contact. Bought a 2' copper cable, changed the horn and changed the plug, all for less than $60. Yes, $450 vs $60. Again, I don't think they are bad mechanics, but way too pricey. Won't go back.

Someone…read morerear ended me and I wanted to take my car to Tilton's since it is in a convenient location for me. Communication was ok, and the car was done when they said it would be done. However the actual paint job they performed leaves a lot to be desired. They did not paint match the new bumper correctly, and the clear coat is completely opaque and bumpy. There is a very noticeable transition between the bumper and the rest of the car as shown below. They replaced my bumper with a non OEM part, which was the fault of the insurance company and not them, so maybe that is part of it. I also share some blame as I was in a hurry to catch a flight when picking up my car so I did not thoroughly inspect their work. Regardless, it is not a quality job and I would not recommend going there for body work.
