Unfortunately I didn't have very many options. After getting back on the road and to my parents. My dad noticed several bolts had been cross threaded or extremely overtightened. That said, I sent my daughter to this shop over the last 3 months or so. She has paid them to completer over $2000 of repairs on three separate occasions. I have no issue with the work completed. In fact they advise my daughter what work could wait and what was needed immediately. After all this work her check engine light came on again and thought it could be related to previous work. It turns out it was not related to previous work and they could not see any code happening at the time of diagnosis. They did advise previous codes and was told the problem would likely resurface. They charged my daughter $164 (one hour) to hook up a scan tool and provide the codes. I am very used to having relationships with auto mechanics in the past where there is typically would be no charge when they cannot find an issue. That is what I expected today. So to be clear, just understand you will be charged for every piece of work they do here. Again, I can not complain with previous work but thought perhaps they would be willing to build a long term relationship. I guess I will find out if I am wrong as I go forward. Thank you.

EDIT: Oxford reached out to me, and I appreciate their efforts to make things right. There was a…read morenumber of things this location did wrong, mainly boiling down to moving too quickly and skipping/missing important steps in the customer service process, but they did work with me on resolving these. They did replace the spark plugs on my car, as they'd replaced them previously and they were under warranty. I did choose to do the ignition coils myself, as I was able to purchase the same OEM parts significantly cheaper (25%) and do the job myself in ten minutes. ORIGINAL: Price gouging and predatory behavior. I've come to Oxford's multiple times before for scheduled maintenance with no issues, but I brought my car (~10yr old Honda, nothing fancy) over after hours urgently, because of an engine misfire and a 'SERVICE IMMEDIATELY' notification. When they opened and checked it in, they sent me an approval form for a $200 diagnostic charge, higher than I've ever had anywhere else, and not waived if you get the repair with them. I called for some clarification, and then a few minutes later found that they had started the diagnostic without getting my approval - apparently Kevin W took my asking a question as implicit approval. Annoying, but I was hoping to go ahead anyway so I let it go. A few hours later, I get another call from Kevin with the results of the diagnostic. I hadn't received an inspection report with details like I usually would have, and he said I needed new spark plugs and ignition coils, quoting me at around $1,100 for this. I can't give the exact value, because I was never sent the estimate, even after I specifically asked for it. I only received the inspection report at that time, but with no estimate or approval request. This is an absolutely absurd cost. I'm by no means a car guy, but this is something I can order all the parts for less than $130, and will only take an hour or so of my time. I have absolutely no idea what the hell they're doing that would make this cost more than $300-$500, at absolute most. Now, if they over-quoted me because they're busy and don't want the work - then just tell me that I'm either going to wait a few days or that I need to take it elsewhere. What this looks like to me is that they tried to take advantage and overcharge someone in a bind, thinking that I'd pay whatever they ask so my car was drivable again. I feel like the lack of a written estimate to look over before sports this. If so, this is predatory behavior from a repair shop, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Someone…read morerear ended me and I wanted to take my car to Tilton's since it is in a convenient location for me. Communication was ok, and the car was done when they said it would be done. However the actual paint job they performed leaves a lot to be desired. They did not paint match the new bumper correctly, and the clear coat is completely opaque and bumpy. There is a very noticeable transition between the bumper and the rest of the car as shown below. They replaced my bumper with a non OEM part, which was the fault of the insurance company and not them, so maybe that is part of it. I also share some blame as I was in a hurry to catch a flight when picking up my car so I did not thoroughly inspect their work. Regardless, it is not a quality job and I would not recommend going there for body work.
