Brasserie Saint Marc is a beautiful wide space for an intimate French dining experience. I loved the marble tables and floors. The food and service was excellent. We tried the following Charred Octopus - served over a bed of lightly dressed greens and baby potatoes, the octopus was nicely charred and generous. Beef tartare - Honestly the presentation can be improved and the serving can use some explanation by the server. Coq au Vin - My god this dish was delicious the meat fell of the bone and was tender AF, the chicken was super flavorful with the wine sauce. Loved the large shallots. Steak Au Poivre - Angus Strip Steak with black pepper sauce, done medium rare next to crispy fries, solid entree. Dessert: Creme Brulee - well executed had a nice crust and very creamy. Poached Pear - Actually something I've never tried before and it was quite fun to eat, if it was served with a knife it would have made a lot more sense. Saint Marc has a lot of promises and the dishes were fantastic, right now on some dishes on the menu it looks like they are still working out some kinks, would love to try it again when it's all worked out! read more

WAS A SCAM AND SO GROSS!! Went to the holly jolly speakeasy here and left more than disappointed. On the website it showed a very decorated holiday bar. Stated it offered fun holiday cocktails and snacks. This was all wrong!!! We got the option of 2 drinks that seemed to be made days ago. We were offered an espresso martini and a sangria both tasted absolutely awful!! When we asked about the light snacks the bartenders basically laughed at us. Had to leave within 10min because the place was disgusting looked like it had never been cleaned there were empty glasses all over. Don't even get me started with the holiday decorations looked like they got them at the dollar store. I also payed extra for the 90min reservation which no one guided me or gave me a table. IT WAS A SCAM!!!! The place was gross, the drinks were gross, and the staff was rude. Everyone in there was disappointed and I can't say one nice thing about the place. I don't write a lot of reviews, but this one is long over due. Brasserie Saint Marc has basically been my second kitchen since they appeared on Postmates shortly after lockdown started. I've probably ordered from them about forty times at this point. The food is amazing. It's fresh, it's consistent, it's highly customizable and it's very well priced considering the high quality and large (very large) portions. The coq au vin is unreal. They use the best bacon. The burger au poivre is the best burger I've had in 2020 (but get the sauce on the side so the bun doesn't get soggy). They operate under a second name on Postmates, which is Da Speranza, and that menu has even more items which includes mac and cheeses and paellas. I still haven't tried the paella because I'm single and that's a lot of fucking food, but the mac and cheese is ridiculous and easily two meals. I recommend the Butcher Mac with NY strip and bacon. I could keep going on and on about this place, and you know what? I will. One time they called me to tell me that they didn't have what I ordered that day (most restaurants just cancel) and asked me if I wanted to choose something else. They recommend the short rib, which cost $12 more than what I ordered, and didn't charge me for the difference. I should have written this review that day. I love this place, and even though I still haven't gone in because I've been to only two restaurants since March, I am so happy to have it as part of my neighborhood. Thanks, Brasserie Saint Marc! i came here on a tiktok rec and was supremely underwhelmed. the food was ultimately unremarkable and expensive; the oysters and clams in the seafood tower didn't taste particularly fresh, the $42 sea bass could not have been picked out of a line up, even the olives chosen for my martini tasted bland. The steak tartare was a standout- the creaminess of the quail egg coupled with the crispness of the fried thy were served with was the highlight of the food ordered. The service and atmosphere upstairs was great; our waiter was attentive and paired our meal with a fabulous white wine. I think this could be a fun place for a birthday dinner if you were a 22 year old influencer whose only been in the city for a few years, but i was ultimately left uninspired and a little bored. read more

Atmosphere is trendy but that's where it stops. Took 30 minutes to get our first drinks, and never brought out the second round - after 3 repeated attempts for asking where it was at. Menu is not the same as the restaurant before them and yelp doesn't say it's a different place and it is not French. Steak tartare came out in 5 minutes and felt it was sitting in the fridge for a full day you could barley break it up it was so cold-packed together. Went on a Saturday for a birthday dinner, the ambiance was great. The waitress was friendly and helped us navigate through the menu. Started out with apps Caesar salad and calamari. Caesar salad was warm which gave it a weird taste but the calamari was good. I got the steak frites; that had a lot of fat on it and the taste was okay, better with the sauce they gave on the side. Most of the table got the mushroom chicken and didn't like it. Cocktails were okay. Wouldn't come back don't think it was worth the price. read more

Delivery review- honestly I feel this review is necessary as I've ordered from one of their many pages on Grubhub probably 100 times since the beginning of quarantine. I have to say I was stunned the first time I had it and I'm still pleasantly surprised every time I do order as their food is outstanding. They own the page Waddabuger (FYI) which honestly does not sound too upscale, more like a chain that "cough cough, Mark Wahlberg might own ;)" but let me tell you, it rival some of the best delivery burgers I've had. I have yet to have a bad meal with them & Will exclude the one Mexican order I had which wasn't bad it was just incorrectly prepared and described. Killer waffle fries and the sautéed onions that come on many other dishes specifically their burger is outstanding. Lastly their staff is great with the manager works at night being a genuinely nice person. I consistently order with special instructions and find that they follow them to a T. If there is ever an issue they rectify anything that might have happened and are completely accommodating and understanding. I treated myself to a Sunday night Covid-19 delivery from Brasserie Saint Marc with their Steak Au Poivre, (perfectly cooked medium rare), french fries, Brussel sprouts followed by a delicious slice of ricotta & pistachio cake. They also do great deals on wine, so I ordered a bottle of the Sangiovese. They had actually sold out, but were good enough to call me up and discuss what alternatives they could offer. I probably wouldn't normally order steak for delivery, but everything arrived quickly and still piping hot....more than satisfying my craving for red meat, plus the pepper sauce was creamy & delicious. COVID takeout order review: this place is excellent. The fried shrimp were crispy and greaseless and the insides were tender. There were also a million of them for $8! A steal! The lobster Mac and cheese was richly flavored with sherry. The coq au vin was the real thing! Tender chicken in a fragrant red wine reduction flavored with bacon, vegetables and thyme, the classic recipe and very impressively executed. The carrot cake was delicious and nicely spiced. Came here late last night -- this was the only place that was still willing to seat us, the host(/waiter/owner?) was kind enough to still seat us, even though it was less than 1 hr from closing time. I had the mussels with chorizo which came with pomme fritte on the side - amazing. Very large portion, I couldn't even finish which is extremely rare for me heh. The sauce/juice was salty and briney and delicious, and the fries were very good as well. My date had the lobster Mac and cheese, also very good, can't really go wrong, cheesy, a reasonable amount of lobster. I had the bourbon peach cocktail, comes already bottled and with 2 drinks in a bottle; absolutely looovvved this drink, and it was strong too! Enjoyed a very relaxed brunch on Sunday. Shared plates one after another in no particular order. Each better than the next. Very helpful, enthusiastic server (Jessica). Literally my only critique of the place is my pet peeve of being instructed to order all plates at once, up front. Sometimes the drinks and mood dictate the palate. We were blown away by tomato carpaccio. Empanadas and croquettes were tasty. Lemon ricotta pancakes gave us our sweet to balance out the benny and biscuit & gravy sandwich. Made reservations here to celebrate a 26th birthday. Ambiance was great, overall very very cute & trendy... As for the experience, if we wanted to get the pre fixe menu- our whole table had to do it. Theres a choice to pair your 3 course meal with cocktails or wine, I wanted the wine but my waiter decided to skip over me and just assumed I wanted the cocktails (nasty cocktails too). After asking him why I couldn't get my wine he claimed it was "too late." More so just placed the cocktail in front of me and shrugged his shoulders. All of our cocktails were the same but tasted completely different? borderline horrible. We then had an extremely unenthusiastic, uncomfortable photographer come over to ask if we wanted pictures. She took our pictures then came back with about 15 of our photos, framed, selling them each for 20$? You would think at such an upscale restaurant they would at least give you a printed photo for free? Also we ended up being scammed into buying 3, so where did the rest of our photos end up? creepy... I thought the food at the time was "ok". My party had mixed feelings about it. However, the next day we all feel sick and I have full blown food poisoning. Shocker. Lastly, after all of this we decided to leave a 15% tip because we were unhappy with our drinks/food and service, the waiter had the audacity to come up to us to ask why we left such a small tip!! 0/10, will never come back, thanks for ruining my best friends bday. read more

We were seated quickly, the place has a hidden rear dining room with a champagne bar which is opening soon. Chandeliers with the lighting was nice, so was the heating/AC which made the room very comfortable. SAINT resturant deserves 0 stars from me as the server was rude to us. Me and some girls I was with were looking forward to the place for not only the food but in hopes of getting nice pictures. I asked our server politely for a possible seat change to maybe get a nicer corner of the resturant for better lighting. She was telling us that the area was all that we had to work with and I was answering her questions but she came off really snappy as if we were inconveniening her. She spoke to us in a condescending manner whenever she came to our table and it created a confusing and awkward atmosphere. When we got our starter, we were still taking pictures. Our server didn't bother to even ask us if we were ready for our entrees even though we ordered our entrees with our starters. 15-20 minutes later she came over and asked us if we wanted our entrees we were confused but were also understanding, yet she seemed annoyed at us even though she was supposed to ask us if we wanted our entrees with our starters from the moment we ordered. We waited 10 more minutes for our entrees. At the end of our dinner we didn't look at the receipt carefully but later on we saw a fee on what looked like a "gratuity" fee of $38.05. We were 4 people together at a table. We paid 20% for tip. I've never experienced dining at a place that made gratuity a mandatory fee, and it is unpleasant. The total came out to $290. Great atmosphere and the place was quiet despite there being multiple patrons. Orders had to be placed with all the courses, so the waiters were patient as we were deciding, even helping us decide when we were stuck. We went with the french onion soup, escargot, bouillabaisse (Friday special), and the burger Saint Marc. Food came out piping hot and everything was delicious. I just wish t bouillabaisse came with bread as there was so much tasty broth leftover after we ate the seafood and potatoes (Also it said it had octopus, but we didn't find any in ours). For dessert we had creme brûlée that was light yet creamy (yum). Overall I recommend this place! read more

highlight: The appetizers we got, French Onion Soup, was very good. Ambience, service. All get 5 stars Why 3 stars? We did not get offered bread, odd for a French restaurant, or any $50 a head restaurant in Manhattan. Our entrees were both underwhelming, Hunters Plate and the fork and knife burger, nothing special~ both heavy and underwhelming. The French fries were clearly not homemade (a shame at a French Brasserie.) For the kind of business this place will have to do to flourish, or even survive for its size and location, I'd recommend/wish getting some consulting on the menu. Also the constant French music felt really a bit tacky~ they can do better. Mostly, If the food was better, we'd be back in a flash. Good for drinks and everything, I'm sure~ just several things didn't feel tasteful or authentic. read more
