Fresh flowers, cards and newspapers are the first to catch your eye, leading you to the well-stocked aisles packed with produce from fresh and vegetables, to a variety of fresh meats and fish. Their famous meal deals are also prevalent, as are the dairy and fresh food. Most of them M&S branded goods, but some well known high street brands are also starting to invade the shelves, which adds choice. The variety of pasta, bread, tinned goods, frozen food, confectionery, fresh bread/rolls etc. are equally impressive. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there is never too much of a queue. The price would prevent you doing an entire family shop here, but its a great place to come for a treat, where you know the quality of the food is high.

Tesco Mickleover is one of their Superstores (rather than the larger format Extra)…read more Whilst it doesn't carry a wider range of goods it does have an excellent selection of items including Tesco's F&F clothing range. The store can be extremely busy (especially before and after school and at weekends) but there's ample parking which is free for up to two hours. If you struggle with accessibility then there's a lift in the underground car park with step free access into the store and the aisles are easy to navigate. This store doesn't have a coffee shop but the bakery provides delicious breads and plenty of tasty snacks (doughnuts, cookies) and is well worth a visit. Further the store also provides contactless payments (up to £30) which is ideal if you use something like Apple or Android Pay. The staff are really friendly and will go out of their way to help you.

It was a good job I had my receipt because I was asked at the till if I wanted It. He said he stopped me because I walked out of one of the aisle. This is true, after I had paid for my shopping I then looked at some magazines on the rack near the exit. This was an experience which did not sit well with me and I shall not be shopping there again. My suggestion to Tesco at Mickleover is to always give the customer their receipt, and once the shopping has been paid for to then leave the shop.

Then there are the prices - in the US I got used to paying $3-4 for a loaf of fresh crusty bread - not here in dollars from $1 to $2 for REAL crusty bread. To get back to the topic - this Sainsbury - great, clean, efficient staff. Bit of a rip off that you have to pay to park - but they refund so all is good. I've never really had a chance to test customer service in the shop as I've always been able to find items easy. However, with long queues at the kiosk I'm guessing it is quite poor. They also assume that I don't understand or speak Cantonese... like, whatever. Just because I choose not to speak it, does not mean I can't. A few members of my family shop here, but I give it a wide berth. The people are rude and they're expensive. I'm not paying a decent amount for out-of-date items!
