This is a very large Tesco Extra store with extras onsite including a pharmacy, opticians, Direct, photo processing, clothes and a cafe. Considering it is so large what always surprises me about this store is it is very relaxed. The high ceilings and glass front make it very light and airy. It is quiet so if you want a large choice but don't like cramped and busy supermarkets this could be a good compromise for you. From Monday to Friday it is 24 hours so you really can turn up whenever suits you. The range of products is very good and as the store is airy the size of the place doesn't over awe you so you can mosey round without missing anything. This relaxed feeling seems to spread to the staff too. There is plenty of parking and always plenty of trolleys/baskets to hand. As it is a Tesco I find some items can be a bit pricey compared to other supermarkets in the region. read more

Tesco Extra at Toton is a well designed modern supermarket with ample parking. The store is a good size while not being too overwhelming and has a more welcoming feel to it than many other supermarkets. The non-food departments contain a varied selection of goods at excellent prices, while the food sections of the store are well stocked and easy to navigate. My only complaint would be that the system of switching to self-service checkouts only after 10pm (i.e. there are no manned checkouts available after that time) is a bit of a pain if you are visiting alone and have a huge trolley full of goods that you have to process all by yourself. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Lots of parking spaces and onsite pharmacy and travel agents. Inside there is a coffe shop and tesco direct, electrical counter and photo dept. A huge store with a good range you would expect at a Tesco Extra. Newly added opticians instore. Not a huge range of toys, but the rest of the options in store more than make up for that. I think i have to say that this tesco happens to be one of my favorites, if you can have favorite supermarkets ? . It has ample parking spaces, friendly staff, great offers, plenty of trolleys and baskets all tied up with a wide variety of products. I agree with checking the dates on stuff but its worth it just for the eye candy ;O) Its opposite an army barracks so theres a few planes there to show the kiddies too. read more
