I chose an Al Pastor, Asada and Chorizo taco and ordered these all the way. For $2/taco you get your choice of meat with onions and cilantro For $2.50/taco you get it all the way which is your choice of meat with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream and avocado Unfortunately the pork and steak were very dry which is the driving factor behind my 3 star review. The Chorizo taco had great flavor though. I would definitely like to give this food truck another shot!

I was always curious as…read moreto why there seemed to be a food truck at my apartment complex and finally had the chance to check them out tonight. The food is so delicious! I literally just finished my Al Pastor quesadilla and had to write a review! The Al Pastor is marinated pork and I was a bit skeptical to have it in a quesadilla but I was told its good so I decided why not? SO glad I got it! Not only is the pork tasty and juicy, there's so much of it! I loved that they did not hold back on their portions and after just one quesadilla (at $5) I'm satisfied. It came with a side of spinach, tomatoes, avocados (no extra charge yay!!) and topped with some cheese and cream. Really good stuff! Great customer service! They were really nice and friendly even though I was awkwardly staring at their menu for awhile. They had a variety of meats to choose from and had other options which I'll have to try next time. It was super quick service as well! The only downside is that they didn't have seating available but considering it's cold, I was okay with taking it home. Definitely recommending this food truck to everyone! Great food, great price and quick service? Can't get better than that with me! Side note: they are at Berkshire Manor West (off 54) every Tuesday night!

Queso Monster - Birria quesadillas

Queso Monster Food Truck is one of the prime examples of where the lore of the line heavily…read moreoutweighs the satisfaction. Almost always will you see a humongous line at this truck - so much that the past few events I've been to, they've brought a separate truck just for their Elotes and drinks. First the Elotes - pretty good for the most part. My issue...the price. At LEAST $5.50 for one Elote, pretty high knowing it's one piece of corn with its usual toppings. Their Walking Elotes is $10! What that is is a personal sized bag of chips with elote toppings inside. The quesabirria is what I (and what I assume others) primarily line up for. Quesabirria has been trending for the past couple of years now so people want to try. Was it worth the long wait? Not at all. Now I won't say the quesabirria is bad by any means BUT it's full of grease. The consommé was probably one of the more basic consommés I've had. Very watery, while greasy, and lacks flavor. Making things worse were the stale chips. At least the queso was good. Spoke with a friend and asked for their thoughts on the truck, being that they knew it was a long line as well...but had the exact same issues/sentiments about the items.

Queso Monster and Elote Monster usually draw fairly long lines at events, and so when I happened…read moreupon them without an extensive queue at a food truck rodeo, I decided to give them a try. The menu offers a good deal of flexibility, boasting choices in proteins (traditional meats, shrimp, or veggies), spiciness levels, and styles. Unexpectedly, they also offered red/juicy and quesobirria quesadillas. The "elote" side of the business offers the titular street corn, with or without a dusting of tortilla or red hot chips. Lemonades range from single flavors such as peach or strawberry to multi-berry bonanzas, and a few are available as horchatas instead. I ended up with a birria quesadilla, tortilla chip-dusted esquites (elote bowl), and a mojito lemonade. The folks running the trucks were friendly, and, even by food truck standards, very fast. The quesadilla, which included broth, chips, salsa, and, of course, queso, offered quite a bit of food for $14. Less justifiable was the $5.50 charged for a regular-sized lemonade. The food was, by and large, satisfying. The quesadilla offered tender meat and a tasty -- if cilantro-heavy -- broth. The tortillas were a bit greasy, however, and will have you missing La Sinaloense's version. The torti esquites were thoroughly addictive. It may be just corn, sour cream and spices, but damn if the execution wasn't spot-on. The confusingly-named mojito lemonade had about as much in common with a mojito as a sea horse does with a stallion, but aside from being very sweet, it was still a refreshing drink on a June day. I appreciated the amount of fresh fruit (berries, pineapple, and kiwi) included. Had I been standing in long lines eagerly anticipating what awaited me, I likely would have walked away from Queso Monster and Elote Monster slightly disappointed. But thanks to fortuitous timing, I was able to enjoy it for what it was: good though not flawless Mexican food and drink.

Let's…read morebegin.. ordered one taco de pastor, meat was decent with decent flavor, the bad it comes with lettuce and mozzarella cheese, WTF is that? that is not how you make a taco or at least a authentic Mexican taco. I also ordered a carnitas burrito which ended up being asada not a big deal. Burrito comes with lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, jalapeños, and avocado. Umm where are the beans and rice? The asada lacked flavor again good portions but just not what a real Mexican burrito should be. The red sauce wasn't hot and it was watery, just not sure I can return to this place, I was excited because several people recommended this spot and coming from California I was excited to eat some authentic Mexican food but far from it. To each is own but yeah not sure what the local people are talking about being great. Other than that the lady was lovely and nice and the food came out fast, but I just can't call this authentic Mexican food.

The Al pastor, lengua, and cachete are all delicious, though I have a hard time distinguishing them. We got 6 tacos for $20. Highlights - The meat portions are generous and juicy - DOUBLE corn tortillas on every taco - fresh cilantro, onions, grilled onions, light lettuce, cheese, smokey red sauce, spicy green sauce, and generous lime wedge for your tacos Personally, the only thing that can make these tacos better are if the corn tortillas are freshly made. But even that is not a big deal! Also note the taco truck is not always open. They were off for at least a few weeks in the summer.

Okay, We're from New Orleans so when we see a "New Orleans style" restaurant, we always question…read morethe authenticity of the claim. In the case of Succotash we feel we have found the holy grail... Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff? check Homey and a little funky atmosphere? check cool soundtrack? check BUT what about the food? We first came for brunch... I had the 'Brisket and Grits'. It was a very tender brisket with cheesy, garlicky grits, scallions with fried egg. The best part? They drizzle some of the brisket gravy over the grits... Oh man this was delish. We got talking about South Louisiana food with our server and he told us they bring in Leidenheimers french bread from New Orleans for their po-boy's. What's the big deal? ...I'll tell you! The bakery was founded in 1896 and it is the ONLY bread that marks a true po-boy to New Orleans natives. Why? Because of it's unique texture. Their loaves have a pillowy soft interior and a crunchy crust that isn't found in most french breads. It's the gold standard for po-boys. So today, I came back to Succotash for an Oyster po-boy. And the Verdict? Five stars mon ami! Leidenheimers bread with a very generous amount of perfectly fried oysters. ...I like mine simple with just lettuce, tomato and a little hot sauce. This was I can honestly say, the very best oyster po-boy I have found outside of NOLA. ... so yeah, I've found a new home... thanks and a tip o' the hat to Chef Juan DiGiulio and the great staff he has brought together!

I enjoyed the catch of the day corvina with a side salad and potato's. This dish was delicious. I got the fish blackened and this was a bold flavor with a spicy and deep smoky flavor.
