still a tad expensive and a tad underwhelming; meat and ingredients seemed less fresh vs. other comparable local taco trucks

In the case of Succotash we feel we have found the holy grail... Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff? check Homey and a little funky atmosphere? check cool soundtrack? check BUT what about the food? We first came for brunch... I had the 'Brisket and Grits'. It was a very tender brisket with cheesy, garlicky grits, scallions with fried egg. The best part? They drizzle some of the brisket gravy over the grits... Oh man this was delish. We got talking about South Louisiana food with our server and he told us they bring in Leidenheimers french bread from New Orleans for their po-boy's. What's the big deal? ...I'll tell you! The bakery was founded in 1896 and it is the ONLY bread that marks a true po-boy to New Orleans natives. Why? Because of it's unique texture. Their loaves have a pillowy soft interior and a crunchy crust that isn't found in most french breads. It's the gold standard for po-boys. So today, I came back to Succotash for an Oyster po-boy. And the Verdict? Five stars mon ami! Leidenheimers bread with a very generous amount of perfectly fried oysters. ...I like mine simple with just lettuce, tomato and a little hot sauce. This was I can honestly say, the very best oyster po-boy I have found outside of NOLA. ... so yeah, I've found a new home... thanks and a tip o' the hat to Chef Juan DiGiulio and the great staff he has brought together!

I enjoyed the catch of the day corvina with a side salad and potato's. This dish was delicious. I got the fish blackened and this was a bold flavor with a spicy and deep smoky flavor. I enjoyed the peach bread pudding for dessert with a decaf coffee. The bread pudding presentation and taste didn't match but I wasn't disappointed. Everything was great.

Prices are good though it can add up quickly if you get a lot of what you want. Service is a bit slow as there aren't many wait staff. For such a tiny place they sure do offer a good selection of foods.. Much of it is fried or grilled. Every single thing that I have eaten tastes delicious. I'm guessing that most of their business is take out. When the weather is good some people sit outside. This is not a glamorous place. Not a problem! It's not close to where we live, so I don't go by frequently and that's probably for the best. given my age and health. I am impressed by the service and also by the clientele. No one demands to get their orders very quickly. I believe the food is actually healthier here than at the typical burger type restaurant because they do serve good quality food and they have vegetables as well.

I literally just finished my Al Pastor quesadilla and had to write a review! The Al Pastor is marinated pork and I was a bit skeptical to have it in a quesadilla but I was told its good so I decided why not? SO glad I got it! Not only is the pork tasty and juicy, there's so much of it! I loved that they did not hold back on their portions and after just one quesadilla (at $5) I'm satisfied. It came with a side of spinach, tomatoes, avocados (no extra charge yay!!) and topped with some cheese and cream. Really good stuff! Great customer service! They were really nice and friendly even though I was awkwardly staring at their menu for awhile. They had a variety of meats to choose from and had other options which I'll have to try next time. It was super quick service as well! The only downside is that they didn't have seating available but considering it's cold, I was okay with taking it home. Definitely recommending this food truck to everyone! Great food, great price and quick service? Can't get better than that with me! Side note: they are at Berkshire Manor West (off 54) every Tuesday night!

The Boxyard itself has a fun indoor/outdoor vibe with several restaurant options, and Bulkogi fits right in with flavorful, customizable Korean-fusion bowls. I tried the build-your-own bowl, and I really liked how much flexibility you get with the choice of protein, rice, vegetables, and sauces. A fully loaded bowl is around $20, but it's a generous portion and feels packed with ingredients, especially the protein. The sauces add a lot of flavor, and you can make the bowl as mild or bold as you like. The ordering process is simple through the iPad kiosk, then you just pick up at the counter when it's ready. There's decent indoor seating, and the overall setup makes it a nice casual lunch or dinner stop. Online reviews also seem to highlight the same things I noticed: bold flavors, generous portions, and a lively Boxyard atmosphere, with occasional comments about wait times during busy periods. Overall, Bulkogi is a solid choice if you're craving Korean BBQ flavors in a casual, modern setting. I'd definitely come back to try more sauce and protein combinations.
