When I was in college, one of my best friends introduced me to this little Chinese restaurant near his apartment. From then on, my wife and I frequented Saigon Cafe multiple times a month for the rest of our senior year. It serves the best sesame chicken we've ever had! We don't even order sesame chicken at other Chinese places anymore, because it is never as good. We also love their chicken fried rice, and I always appreciate the complimentary fried wontons appetizer. Beyond that, prices are cheap the quantity of food is huge. My wife and I are looking forward to eating at Saigon Cafe again the next time we go back to Provo. read more

I really like the C10 general tso chicken. I usually drop the soup just not a fan. But my oh my are the wontons good! 10 of them for $4. This is honestly one of the hidden gems of Provo. While the location is somewhat off the beaten path (just below Center street), it's much better than any other Chinese restaurant you'll find on the main drag. Family-run and extremely fair-priced (I brought in a friend from California and he was blown away at the quality and how cheap it was) the service is fantastic and the food even more so. I recommend the special combinations, where you get a ridiculous amount of food for six or seven bucks. The soups, meat, and especially the lo-mein are all so delicious. If you are craving some great Chinese cuisine, forget Panda Express, go to Saigon Cafe!! read more

This is the best Chinese restaurant I have been to hands down. The classics like sesame chicken are super crunchy and full of flavor and taste like quality meat. The wonton soup is so large and for a cheap price. There are about 10-15 wontons in the soup (most place have like 2 if you are lucky) it's also full of vegetables and the broth is so flavorful. every time I go I can't help but eat the entire thing. The fried rice has both vegetables and meat and when you get a $6 combo the portions aren't any smaller. The egg rolls are so crunchy and delicious best egg rolls I've ever had. And best of all they deliver too. I am so sad that I have moved out of Utah and won't be able to come here anytime I want... but I might fly out here just for that wonton soup. Some of the worst Pho I have ever had. The broth is what makes or breaks Pho and t was not authentic. The people who own the restaurant are Chinese and they serve Vietnamese food...will not be returning for Pho. May check out the Chinese food. The noodles were also not fresh. I could tell because they were not soft like usual vermicelli noodles even in the broth. The bean sprouts were not fresh. Jalepeños not fresh. Basil not fresh. The only accurate thing was the hoisin, siracha, and the $6.20 price tag on the meal. There is better Pho in Provo. read more

My first pho in SLC, my experience: Decor: colorful, newly renovated outside complex, seating is more denny's style booth. I expected the inside to be new aswell , but it only the outside was renovated. carpter has flowers and dark. Service: Went on saturday at 3:30pm. One guy was holding the fort with 6 tables , and i was still able to order my cafe su da and pho really quick. Food: I had the traditional pho special, comes in only 1 size, had a side of cafe su da, it didn't ocme in the slow drip. The pho was good, not a standout. My husband and I frequent here often. The prices are great. The food is usually pretty good, definitely not the best. Sometimes it's just really salty. They serve Chinese chips with pink sauce before your food which I really like. The egg drop is soup is different than most places but I like it, usually. One time it was super thick, cold, and nasty. My husband would probably give this place 5 stars because he always gets the same thing. Pork lo mein. It's always great. But I'm different and I like to try a lot of different things and I've been disappointed probably 50% of the time. The fried rice is good. I would suggest getting the combo. I recently had the moo gai pan, sesame chicken, and garlic chicken. I wasn't a fan of any of them. Their cashew chicken is pretty good but I've had better. I didn't like the water chestnuts (bitter taste) or zucchini (way too many) in the cashew chicken. All in all it is a good deal. The service and atmosphere are great. We will continue to frequent here. Edit: I gave this place a 3 star rating at first and my husband got really upset so I'm switching it to 4. Edit: I've tried more of their items. I love their orange chicken. The lemon chicken is good too. The black bean chicken is also good but not as filling I feel. I've enjoyed their pho as well. We had sesame chicken and mongolian beef and both were pretty good. The cream cheese wontons were yummy. A bit small but they gave you 10 of them so that makes up for it. My 1 year old daughter usually just picks at her food and eats like a bird, she LOVED the chicken lo mein and actually ate all we gave her and wanted more. We've gotten delivery from here a ton. The Ham Fried Rice is some of the best we've every had! I'm also a really big fan of the Cream Cheese Wantons. Normally they're pretty quick about delivering, as long as you don't order during dinner rush. They also have really good prices. The only thing i'd say isn't great is any of their chicken Dishes. The meat after being fried sits in what ever sauce its covered in for so long that the Chicken is always over cooked and not crispy at all. This is by far, the best Chinese food I've eaten since living in Utah. A friend told me that the fried cheese wontons would change my life (he wasn't wrong), and I've kept coming back here at least every couple of weeks since. All the entrees I've had have been exceptional, and I've adventured with the menu quite a bit. It's totally a mom-and-pop kind of place, so the service can very depending on what kind of customer you are. I've always been respectful, and they love me, but I've seen some reviews that they have been rude, so I would chalk that up to rude customers. The portion sizes are huge (I rarely eat a whole entree by myself), and the price is incredibly low. I haven't (by choice) been back to Panda Express since I discovered Saigon. Amazing, I really loved it. Very much a family establishment. I loved the divey atmosphere and the food was cheap and delicious.

The customer service here is terrible! The last two times I've eaten their food, they've made mistakes & they don't apologize for them (one was that they forgot my appetizer & it was to go & they gave me no receipt, so I couldn't get it--now I always make sure I have my receipt; the other I asked for just beef pho & they gave me the more expensive beef & meatballs & fish and when I told them, they said I already got that & offered no customer service improvement). I have learned from these experiences, but I have definitely eaten there for the last time. Plus, Noodle King has way better pho. Saigon cafe is just a pho king dump. read more

We ordered the delivery. The egg drop soup was the consistency of mucus, the chicken egg foo young was...I don't even know, and the hot and sour soup is not even hot and sour soup. My husband and I walked in and ordered to go. Our order was ready within 10 minutes which was really nice. He got the sesame chicken; he liked it. I tried it and thought it was really really good. I ordered the cashew chicken and to be honest I was disappointed with it. It was cooked well but had no flavor whatsoever. I ended up loading it with salt and pulling some sauce out of my fridge to liven it up. I would give it another try though because it may just have been that dish. Servings were big. read more

My husband and I having been coming here for 5 years! It is run by a Vietnamese-Chinese family. The boss lady is very kind and caring! After a few visits, she already remembered my husband loved their LEMON CHICKEN! haha... We've always loved their special combination. It comes with soup, a spring roll, big portion of meat and fried rice! It only costs about $7, which is very very good price! The service was nice, with a bit of a "make yourself at home" kind of feel (seems to be a family business, waiter was one of the sons?). The decor is simple and neat, with a cool fish tank inset into the wall. If one thing stood out the most it would be the quantity of the food. They had a 'shared meal' option of about 4 dishes for ~$14, there were 3 of us in the group so we added an extra portion for another $7. The plates they brought out were large and were stacked high. Any restaurant can treat you well, but this place has some attitude. This is a family owned business, and the son hates working here. It's really fun to have him get upset with you over what you order or because you want your water refilled. I'm not sure if he treats all the customers this way, or just me, but I love it. I first tried the sesame chicken combo. It was AMAZING and cheap. My husband got the sweet and sour chicken combo the last few times. He gets it anywhere he goes for Chinese and he thought it was absolutely delicious. This last time I got the chicken lo mein... Worst mistake ever, because I'm officially going to crave it ALL the time! So freaking good. The combos are 5.85 and come with a spring roll and fried rice. Now their fried rice isn't the best, but I make home made fried rice so maybe I'm just picky. Also it comes with I believe chicken dumpling soup. I am a huge fan of Saigon Cafe! The location isn't in the best part of town and the atmosphere isn't that great, but the food is worth it! There is a section on the menu with $5 meals you can purchase at lunch or dinner that are an amazing deal! For $5 you get soup, wantons with sweet and sour sauce, egg roll, a side of fried rice and a main dish (e.g. sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken or beef and broccoli) The portions are very large; everyone I bring can't believe how much food you get for the price!
