Their Pho is legit. The main problem is having 1 server for the entire house. You've got to be crazy not to hire part time during busy hours. Welcome to Saigon...Sorry for your long wait... That should be the slogan they use to advertise. I enjoy the menu and food, but the service around lunch time is so slow. They have one waiter to hold down the fort, and the thing is, with this place being so close to the base, you get droves of military personnel who come in large groups. One waiter cannot handle that much traffic; I've seen it twice already. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes just to get the waiter to get to your table at peak lunch times. The wait is often painful, and I always end up using one hour's worth for lunch. I got the PHO beef soup the other day, and I asked for everything on there except meatball. I actually like the weird stuff in there like Tendon and tripe etc. But they just assumed I was some vanilla dude who will be freaked out by anything else that is not a noodle. The pho lacked taste. The broth was pretty watered down. They should stick more to tradition then cater to sterilized pallets. I wont be coming back. The service is too slow. The food is good, just so slow! read more

5 star pho -5 star service. We come there every week only because it's the only place to get this great of pho in our area but they are always slow- busy or dead they can't get things done in a timely manner. Today however was the first time our table of TWO walked out because our server decided to take a tables order before ours who walked in 10 minutes after us. Not to mention we had to wait for a table to be cleaned off because there was probably 3 clean tables in the whole place... were there for an hour and a half every time it never fails. It's really too bad because the food is great and it's only great if you sit down to eat it.. it's never hot enough to cook the meat in the pho if you take it to go. read more

You know that feeling you get when you drive up to a restaurant and there is no one in the parking lot? Yeah, that was mine too but I trusted my Yelpers. Good thing! This place is a gem in the middle of Belleville. I tried the Cm Tm Đc Bit for the first time and wow, I may never eat Pho or Bun again. Ok, maybe exaggerating on that but this dish was the phenomenal. If you mash the egg into the broken rice and drizzle fish sauce on it and the crisp pork, you are in for a treat. My waiter suggested I put the meat cake ( yes I said meat cake. Think of it as vietnamese meat loaf. Mystery meat adds to the adventure ) in the fish sauce to soak with the slices of pork and pig skin. Amazing. My favorite place in town now. read more

When I moved to the Belleville area from St. Louis one thing I missed was great Vietnamese food. I'd be tempted to give Saigon a higher rating, just because the Pho tastes pretty good, however, after my experience today, 1 star is being generous. My coworkers and I visited for a shop lunch. We received our drinks and chatted. 45 minutes later, I was asked if I wanted a refill for my half full glass of water. My coworker, who had an empty glass of tea for probably 20 minutes was never asked if he wanted his glass refilled. I asked the server (who was not the one who took our order) where our food was. He checked and returned and said our order wasn't in the computer and that he didn't know where our food was. He also said "it happens" and told us we didn't have to pay for our drinks. And that was it. He wasn't sympathetic in the least and when our server came over while he was talking to us she said "I'm sorry, its my fault". I wouldn't have waited to long to ask the status of our order, however, this place is notorious for having slow service no matter what. It normally takes close to 30 minutes to get a bowl of Pho. What's sad is that places like this tend to get away with poor service because they've been around for so long and there is no where else locally to get Pho. I believe I'll be crossing the river from now on to avoid their severely lacking customer service. read more

My favorite restaurant always great service polite people ive never had a negative experience and for the quality and amount of food you get the prices are great. Just went today actually for my mom and i both to leave stuffed was about $21 if i could suggest a meal i believe itd be order... 113? Its lemon grass steak rolls (you wrap it in rice paper) SO GOOD! And their fresh salsa they serve while you wait is fresh and to die for! Ive taken containers of it home with a bag of their rice chips for snacks! Horrible service, food is NOT fresh, dirty facility, beware. I have been to many north and south Vietnamese restaurants over the years, this is the first and only restaurant that I have given one star. I would have given less than one star if Yelp has the feature to do so. The portion was small, service was worst than a drive through fast food restaurant. This place is GREAT. You get chef sauce and Shrimp Chips as soon as you sit down. This is a Vietnamise resturant and the best fast Chinese food in the immediate driving area. Fantastic fresh selections between fav's like Lemongrass beef, of even the Pork Egg Foo Yung with bacon and mushrooms in the gravy! Yum this is the only place we get our CHinese take out now, the Chef never fails to impress me. Expect non greasy, flavourful, entree's, trust me go and you will not be dissapointed. read more

A culinary oasis in a sea of brand, chain restaurants. While they offer standard Chinese fare, I prefer the Vietnamese cuisine. I love the fresh spring rolls. Since my last review, we have since moved an hour away, but continue to come here whenever we can. I still absolutely love their pho (122a on the menu). I've enjoyed pho in other parts of the U.S. (Specifically the LA area, which definitely has a larger Asian influence & better Asian food than anything St Louis area) & I still love Saigons the best. My husband gets & loves their Curry Gaa (I think that's what it's called, Curry something). We've gotten curry at places that specialize in only Indian cuisine, but he MUCH prefers Saigon's curry over any other curry he's had. read more

This restaurant is a Chinese restaurant, not Vietnamese. I felt like being cheated because their restaurant's name is Saigon, Vietnamese cuisine, but cooked the foods with Chinese style. Great experience. Friendly service. The waitress didn't even have to write down what we wanted to drink or what food we ordered. They give you these shrimp crackers with some sort of salsa (which personally, I think salsa is rather unusual in a Vietnamese restaurant) which were awesome. If you stop by here, definitely try the spring rolls and a bowl of pho. Definitely coming back! read more

I have to add a sequel to my last review of this place. Wife and I returned to do a sit down evening meal. I had my opinion of this place from previous experience with carry-outs so I expected nothing more. How wrong I was I to assume the worst!!!!!! The experience was pleasant beginning with service then the meal itself. I am very fond of pho and my usual place is located in St Louis. But, since the wife wished not to drive across the river, we opted for Saigon. There were several customers and only two waiters. Both were very friendly and attentive. We ordered several items beginning with soft wrapped rolls and Jasmine tea. These were followed with bowl of pho, beef with crispy noodles and a shrimp dish. All were good and comparable to the restaurants in St Louis. I would have to compliment the wait staff as both gentleman were polite and attentive. I do not give out 5 stars cause I see room for improvement in this place but it has climbed the ladder since my last visit. We shall return! read more

I used to really enjoy this place. However, the last few visits have been lackluster. A couple of times, it's been straight up the food that's left a lot to be desired. The last time I was here was primarily the service. I totally understand that when it's busy, service is going to be a little slow here. They don't have much staff. However, the couple of people on the floor would check on every table but ours. We only had a table of two. But, throughout our meal, literally every table was attended to but ours. No check up to see if our food was okay. No asks for refills on our drinks. It's one thing if this was a consistent thing for the other diners there, but that was not the case. Several tables which showed up way after us were attended to multiple times while we were sort of left in the dark. Working in food, I rarely ever complain about service, even when it's lackluster. I really liked Saigon, but the last few times here have left a bad impression on me. Unfortunately, I won't be frequenting here any more. If I have a craving for some Vietnamese food, I have no issues with making the drive out to St. Louis from here on out. read more

I called in to order beef pho and when I called there was a lot of noise in the background and the worker who answered the phone sounded very stressed. When I went to pick up my order I asked the worker if it was ready and he gave me attitude, told me that I was having attitude, and then told me to leave and that he did not want my business. I have been a loyal customer and I know the owners very well so to be treated like this was completely unexpected especially being accused of having the problem.
