Nice looking place. Always wanted to try this place as had driven by many times. Spent $72 to try 5 different dishes (Lo mein, Pad Thai, Lemongrass beef, Sesame chicken, Ban...) None of them were great. Beef was tough, chicken was dried out (previously hard frozen), Pad thai had zero Tamarind. generally not well flavored/season and lower quality ingredients. I wanted to like them as are near where I live, but would call them barely okay. Don't recall the last time I went to a place where I did not even want to keep the leftovers. They have a huge menu ranging from items such as pho, orange chicken, pad Thai, vermicelli bowls, egg noodle soups, etc. We got the egg rolls as appetizer and they were pretty good. They came out hot and were so crispy which I loved. I ordered the pork and egg roll vermicelli bowl and it was HUGE. I only finished half of it and took the rest to go. The pork had really delicious flavors but I just wish it was more charcoaled. The restaurant was kept super clean and we had good service. *Please note that they just opened five days prior to our visit. They are obviously still trying to work out their kinks.* We went on a Thursday night, drawn from it being a new place from what used to be Tad's Steakhouse. The bar area looked like it was still being set up while the dining room seemed typical. A few couches were in the waiting area, which was a bit odd, but sure. The service was polite and they were short staffed. Most of the tables were dirty with dishes and glasses, hence the short staff. The one guy working the floor was friendly but obviously doing most he could. Now onto the food: the menu had your basic Vietnamese dishes, Chinese dishes, even one bibimbop and some pad thai. What a variety of choices. There were also boba and smoothie drinks. We opted for steamed pork dumplings, grilled pork and eggroll vermicelli, and grilled pork chop with rice. The taste of the food was what made the final decision of the three stars. It was simply ok. Pork dumplings was a pass, and the vermicelli was meh. They had forgotten the eggroll and the peanuts, no problem, they fixed it quickly, but the food was ok. My grilled pork chop was really yummy, with the rice and the pickled veg. I should have added a fried egg, but oh well. We will return to try other dishes and hopefully the noodle bowls or the Chinese dishes fared better. Pork chop was great though. We love to support small business and hopefully they work out their kinks. read more

I've tried this on Uber eats twice. The vegetable where not fresh and crispy. The spring rolls just didn't have flavor. The beef noddle soup don't not have enough fish Sauce, what lemon grass? no mint? little meat? . There's a lot of great viet food places on Bellaire so this just didn't stack up . What makes this hard to except is when you added all the extra fees for Uber , service, delivery, and tip /. It adds up so expectations are higher. But .... it's the last time. The viet egg rolls were interesting - normally they are small and you have them in a lettuce wrap - the spring rolls have noodlEs inside - which made them moist. I'm writing about my orange chicken experience. This is the best orange chicken I have ever had. Panda Express wishes for this recipe. It has a nice orange-flavored sauce and pieces of orange's peels. (So I guess it's all natural ingredients). The chicken is nicely crunchy and it's a really nice texture when you bite. They serve it with white steamed rice. I got the lunch special one which it has a good decent meal size without breaking your bank. Service is nice too but it can get a little slow. I can tell this is a family business and they are putting a lot of effort into running it smoothly. I am a frequent customer regardless. read more

I decided to try this place recently for their milk tea. During COVID times where a mask is required, no one was wearing one. Since I was already inside I went ahead and order milk tea. So I come inside, and this place is a restaurant. I'm a little confused so I walk towards the bar and the lady is about to seat me but I mention that I just wanted a tapioca drink. I order my drink and wait around for a few minutes, I notice that they're playing the same music as my nail salon lol. I hate that music. In a little corner, a bit too quiet inside the restaurant and was a little concerned at first but it's a great place to go to if you want to try some viet food and don't know what to get. The rice was just steamed rice that kind of triggered me because COM TAM literally means broken rice not steamed rice. But the meat that came with it was charred chicken, beef, and pork. It also came with 2 eggrolls that was just made to perfection! The wrap they put on it was really crispy and bubbly unlike the regular spring roll wraps they put on. I got the PHO TAI with extra meat on the side. In my opinion, if the meat is too cooked it doesnt have that soft texture and it just tastes bleh. When I first got it I checked the smell of the broth and noodles first because PTSD. Thank goodness though that everything was right. The soup smelled really STRONG and the noodles didn't break apart. The noodles actually was super soft and easy to eat. The PROPORTION of the whole dish was PERFECT between the noodles and soup. The meat tasted FRESH. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Good-ish costumer service (NOT BAD). Food quality was pretty good. Environment was kind of dim and quiet, but we didn't mind it and seating was comfy. PS. I was excited to try this place, only to be disappointed. When we got in the place, it wa so dark. They kept the previous restaurant's lighting theme, except that was a bar, not a place where one would want to have a quick lunch. My sister-in-law had their pad thai. She said it was too sweet and lacked the tanginess one would expect. I had the special beef noodle soup. The broth seemed as if it wasn't simmered long enough. I had high hopes for this place. This place is awesome. I actually didn't expect much, I've never been here before, just gave it a go. However, the foods were surprisingly good. I ordered fried rice ( very large portion), stir fried beef with broccoli, stir fried noodles and orange chicken (must try). They were all well tasted, not too salty not too bland not too sweet, especially not too oily like many other Chinese foods I've had.
