Olive bar!
Anitha K.

Great spot for Mediterranean groceries and speciality spices. They also have a section for prepared foods, breads, meat and cheese. Love wandering around this store and trying out new products and ingredients. Also huge shoutout to their olive bar - they have every olive and it's all reasonably priced! About $5 for a container of castelvetrano olives!

Hummus and lebany!
Eric B.

Back for more. The spicy hummus continues to be my go-to item here, and I've added their homemade spicy pita chips and their zaatar lebany.

Sahadi's offers ethnic food at decent prices. Their olive selection is huge and the cheapest in town.

They had a few brands of Turkish coffee and I went for Cafe Najj with cardamom. Omg!! This coffee has changed my life! I was assisted by Hilda who I had a brief discussion with about coffee. She saw my reservations about trying the cardamom coffee and looked to see if they had any I could sample. Unfortunately they didn't but her genuine concern and kindness won me over to take a chance. I hadn't been to this store in about 5 years and I'm glad it's still there in light of how Brooklyn is changing. I'm happy to report I'm going to patronize this store more often, especially since they have better customer service skills than other stores on that street.

Yes, everything is everywhere. But they do have most of everything. This market sells specifically Levantine products (an Arabic region along the eastern bank of the Mediterranean Sea). To find something though, it is helpful to have something in mind and to ask the Syrian owner for it, usually you'll see him being quiet behind a counter (he's a nice man who has been holding his business through what seems to be generations) - as it can be mind-boggling to figure out where to look or find a product on your own. After all, it is an old-school Middle Eastern store from yesteryear and it'll even feel like a dusty old bookstore in a sense, where you might find a magical book that opens you into a fairytale world (but obviously not). They have olives, canned products, bottled products, nuts, - pretty much anything for your Middle Eastern journey in the kitchen. But yes, they have Middle Eastern sweets, in the back along the right side - mostly in the dessert case. You can also always ask for them.

One of the few places where I can find my favorite Malaysian coffees. I have ordered from here three times so far. The online ordering is efficient, fair priced, and fast. Ai Mart is a newer modern Asian market that is located in Chinatown which is very welcoming addition. I purchased two Onigiris, Japanese rice balls $3.00 each which the filling was good and the Nori (seaweed) wrapping was solid. The rice was below room temp which made the rice sticky and hard to chew. Disappointedly, no plum Onigiri. There are spicy tuna, spicy tuna mayo, spicy salmon, and Unagi (eel). Soy sauce condiment is available for purchase at $0.75. It is very well stock with inventory of Asian imported snacks, Asian ice cream, beauty products, home goods, including prepared hot foods tempura, teriyaki, ramen as well as sashimi/ sushi. Price is reasonable specifically in 2026 stagflation era. If my trek home was close to Chinatown I would surely purchase one pint of Matcha green tea ice cream. Customer service is welcoming and friendly and available for any questions at the cash wrap counter.
