Thought it was gonna be an intimate environment good for a peaceful dinner. This is a club with food service. It's crowded, smells wet, and people are touching you when you walk by. When we booked for a booth they gave us a bar table. When we went to the front of the check in stand the two hosts were having a separate private conversation off to the side and ignored us before a crowd of ppl came behind us. First of all there were no hostess, that's fine, we walked to the bar to try to find seats, but it seems like it was full, walk back to the hostess stand, on the way there a busboy said welcome, so we thought somebody will get to us soon. At the hostess stand, we just waiting and looking around, nobody came to us, one bartender saw us but still did not come to us, we were just there standing and waiting. And the end we just have to go to the bar to find seats on our own. Our bartender was nice but he didn't tell us about last call for food, and let us ask questions about the food just to tell us their kitchen is closed, the bar is also closed earlier than what was stated on the website because "it was slow". Food wise, we only had hamachi crudo but it tasted super "farm like", I don't usually have a preference but this is just intolerable. Drink wise it was pretty good overall. After all I think they open a place that is supposedly high end but attracted the wrong clientele and is short staff. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. After paying a hefty price for food that was just average, our night was completely ruined by the bouncer, Terrence (or Terry). As we were heading out after our meal, my friend stepped back inside briefly to take some pictures. Terry, who was busy chatting with some guys outside, suddenly became aggressive. He blocked my friend, uncomfortably close to her chest, and said she couldn't come back in without him knowing. We were confused because we had literally just walked out moments ago! When we pointed out that he wasn't even paying attention to who was coming in or out, he became defensive and said we were being disrespectful. His aggressive approach was totally unnecessary and really ruined the vibe of the night. Considering the mediocre food, high prices, and rude service from the staff, I can't say I'd recommend this place. If you're looking for a smooth, enjoyable evening, you might want to skip this one. Honestly I have been twice and it's literally my new favorite spot. The vibes are amazing. I love the music. The food is great and the service was also nice. This will definitely be the next hot spot in Encinitas. I wish they opened earlier, but I love it regardless! The cilantro wings were out of this world. It also came with the cilantro lime dressing that I wanted to drown each and every piece with. The truffle fries were really good and I just honestly have no complaints about the experience I had when I was here our waitress was super down to earth, all the drinks were really good! Every single one is $17 which is nice to know because San Diego drinks are overpriced in general. I really like their espresso martini and I also liked the other cocktail that I had. It had tequila and pineapple in it but the way that they made it--it was strong but you couldn't taste it tequila which I'm not mad at. I feel like if you are a native it's definitely worth trying. And if you are from out of town, this place is something that you need to add to your bucket list.
