We had a really nice dinner here the other night. We called ahead on a Sunday to see if there was a wait and were lucky enough to be able to just walk in. The restaurant has a small and cozy dining area with tables spaced apart to facilitate privacy. The lighting is low and the decorations are minimalistic but classy. We were seated right away and had a great server who came over and took our wine order. I was already smitten when I saw their wine so reasonably priced at 8.00 a glass and I fell further when I turned over the menu to find a whole side dedicated to gluten free. They don't have any gf pasta options which was too bad because they smelled amazing; however, I certainly did not go hungry. They had several great options including a gf clam chowder. Clam chowder is one of my many weaknesses so obvi I had to get a cup of that. Then I love gorgonzola so I had to get the chicken gorgonzola. Then of course the husband said it was date night so we really should share a gf dessert.. you can see how this can get carried away. My gf chowder was awesome, flavorful and delicious. The husband enjoyed his caesar -salad and before we knew it our entrees were before us. The chicken was beautifully plated with a delicious mound of mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus and carrots. I thoroughly enjoyed every savory bite. The husband cleaned the gnocchi from his plate and we had barely a moment before the decadent silky chocolate torte with raspberry sauce came out. We were really impressed with the service all night. Our food came out quickly, our server was very attentive, and they ninja filled our water glasses after every sip. Quantity and price were great as well. We'll definitely be back for more noms. read more

A nice, classy Italian restaurant in Downtown Redmond where the food is prepared exclusively for you by Chef Bart. Although the place is often busy, the wait for the food never felt long, perhaps due to the pleasant ambience. I have tried a couple of different entrées, but my absolute favorite is still the Lobster Ravioli ($21)! It is a ravioli dish that is stuffed with lobster and ricotta, and finished in lemon, garlic, white wine, dill and cream sauce. The filling compliments so well with the sauce and even the decorative drizzle of balsamic vinegar. The price may be slightly expensive, but the quality of the food and its taste is worth it! We used to frequent here often, even for birthdays or anniversaries, but haven't returned for a while after a couple of times where it felt like the service we received was a bit unfriendly. Otherwise I would love to have given a five star rating! read more

The pasta was pretty good! I forgot the name of the dish I ordered but it was linguine with mushrooms and beef. The tomato sauce was light, and there was a generous serving of mushrooms and meat. The overall combination was satisfying and did not make me feel like I ate a heavy meal. I'd definitely go back to try their more famous dishes! read more

I messed up Mother's Day and didn't make a reservation, thinking it was still 'first come first served.' The staff was so nice even when I left thinking I ruined Mother's Day with no reservation. The owner ran out after me and said they had a cancellation and they would fit us in! (She did not have to do that). Funny story, my mom DID have a reservation and everything was peachy. This is a cozy little spot in Redmond that I visited for my birthday. The meal starts with complimentary bread, and I added an appetizer: a cup of silky clam chowder, which was very comforting and rich. For the main course I enjoyed a glass of wine and the entree Linguine Rustica, which was a delight. I would absolutely eat a Sages again. read more

Five stars on service! Smaller place with top-notch service. Nice ambience -- a little classier than I would've chosen coming straight off the lake but pleasant, not snooty. Despite the size and general class, they were able to receive our party of six (including 3 teenagers and 1 child) and get us seated and set up with fresh bread and butter. It was a little pricey, but not over the top. They were able to accommodate a true gluten allergy and surprised the individual with a beautifully customized meal and dessert instead of just replacing/removing the gluten item. What a great little find in Redmond! We came here on a friend's recommendation, and what a treat it was. I love the intimate and at-home feel; it's a place that would be perfect for both a date or a family dinner (though most table would fit about 4 ppl). The food is classic Italian and oh so good. I had my eye on the salmon linguini and lobster ravioli; upon the hands-down recommendation from our server, I got the lobster ravioli and it did not disappoint! Creamy goodness, and huge chunks of lobster. Save some of that sauce for dipping the complimentary bread! My friends ordered the gnocchi (I'm not a gnocchi fan he seemed to enjoy it!), the portabello ravioli (different from the lobster ravioli as it had more of an oil based tomato sauce but a very light and refreshing taste), and the wife's pasta dish (which was good as well). Our food came out fairly quickly and the attentive service made me feel like I was at a fine dining establishment but with a very welcoming, casual feel. This is my second time in Sages and I love it! Get the bruschetta - it's so good and the bread has a great crunch. I got the Mediterranean pasta - full of flavors and veggies. Finally, their tiramisu is a perfect finish with a tinch of coffee liqueur sneaking in, in every bite. read more

Today was my first time visiting them and I had a good experience in it. We were a big party and didn't remember if we made a reservation or not. So we waited for 15mins until nobody else arrived to claim it :) There were other groups and all tables were occupied. So I think having a reservation is the best idea at all times. Although the service was not a battalion, they were super fast, patient, and helpful. Even when not all jokes were good for part of my party, I found them nice and attentive!! :D I saw some pics from their food and I can prove now that they look the same and taste even better!! Everything is super tasty!! Huge shrimps, ravioli, white pasta yum. Not pricey :D Complimentary bread was a lil' hard. Maybe because it was late :S Then, dessert time came. We couldn't decide on one so we ordered a couple of samplers. Best decision!! Baileys and chocolate decadence are the best!! Be prepared to skip diet ;) The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, romantic, and nice. Beware you have to look for parking (2hrs on the street). I never realized how important having a good server was until I came here. Last night we had Sandra as a server. She was outstanding! Engaged in conversations with us at the table, & gave us the best food/wine recommendations. For starters, we had the Signature Spicy Shrimp Tower. For entrees, Wife's Favorite & Linguine Rustica. To top it off, Barts Baileys Walnut Cake for dessert. I will be going back to this restaurant & recommending it to friends & family. I had dinner there last night, food and service was okay and I would recommended the place if not for what had happened later after I saw the bill. I gave 15% of tips and leave a whole number as total amount but only to find that the restaurant over charged me on tips and changed it to a number with decimal points. This is a small quaint space that feels homey. The staff is very friendly, helpful and energetic. The wine list is reasonable and the food is tasty. There is something for everyone on the menu. The caprese had plenty of basil, which is important because often there isn't enough- this was a generous helping which was tasty. I had the gorgonzola chicken and if you like gorgonzola (which I do) you will be satisfied. The portions were large and nobody left hungry. While I enjoyed the food I didn't think this was world class cuisine. We'll go back and enjoy the company, the wine and the hominess of the restaraunt. read more

We ordered the clam chowder, butternut squash soup, gnocchi and the pork saltimbocca. Everything came out hot and we could tell it was very fresh! This place has an intimate feel and really good food. The people are so friendly, the service makes it memorable. We had the wife's favorite with prawns and Bart's signature chicken. We had the option to choose the number of prawns I wanted. The food was delicious. Even the complimentary bread they serve is great. For dessert we had chocolate decadence, so good. So we went here after mini golf with friends to have dinner and celebrate somebody's birthday. We were seated immediately the parking issue before hand is a blue little bit of a trick but but barely enough there was a lot across the street. Real silverware was a little spotty but I'm otherwise the place was clean Service showed up food was ordered rather promptly but the menu was a little old uncreative and derivative of standard Italian fair. I was expecting in like the modern age to have some type of a in oh cool fancy dish well seasoned chicken but it was all just kind of OK. I got the signature chicken which is Le large chicken breast stuffed with I think it was goat cheese and a little bit of spinach and then drizzled with Marisol's sauce think it is. That being said the chicken itself wasn't very seasoned or didn't have much spices it was just kind of bland and I didn't even have a night so I had to ask for one of those Actually the carrots and mashed potatoes were really good and the wine was OK but it just felt like the chicken signature dish needs a little bit more rooms and less she's more I don't know something else it's just missing something I likely won't be back but the service was good read more

What a wonderful, cozy restaurant in Redmond. The food is 5-star worthy every time I've eaten here, but the service can be very slow when the restaurant gets busy. If you're not in a rush, this is the best spot in the area for excellent Italian food at a reasonable price. The caprese salad appetizer is one of the best I've had. It's well proportioned with lots of tomato, basil, and mozzarella and they're perfectly stacked on top of one another to enjoy. The penne arrabbiata is always delicious and has the perfect amount of kick from the spicy red sauce and red pepper flakes that dot the edge of the bowl. read more

Mind you we are all Korean/ Korean American. Everything we ordered, I have to say was very delicious. Now to get to the reason why I haven't given this a 5 star review like most restaurants I enjoy food at. Our server... well , she seemed to favor other customers of Caucasian origins over us. Her expression when taking our order was blank, she checked on our table maybe once where as the other tables with white people were checked on multiple times. I am so glad I picked sages for dinner today. The ambient was clam and average. The table bread was so good. It was light soft chewy and had nice crust outside. I had Wife's Favorite pasta which was penne, sundries tomato, mushroom and pink sauce top with grilled chicken breast.this dish was awesome. It was very flavorful and nice portion. My hubby had clam linguini. They gave a lot of clam. The white wine sauce was light and aromatic. We will definitely come back to try other dishes. read more
