After being forced to listen to the owner lounging at one of the tables having a loud conversation in his own language on the telephone for some 10 minutes, we got a bit of peace.
The restaurant is in a run-down attic room with sky-light windows. Somewhat shabby. Small glass of wine and two small bottles of beer cost £10 and the wine was very poor quality. Papadoms were not offered, and when asked for were cold. Pickles consisted of Mango chutney without the mango, and onion salad. No other alternatives.
We enjoyed the good Methi Gosht and Sag Baji. Chicken Korma was more Korma than chicken.
Best that can be said for the place is the attentive waiters, albeit with some rather quirky customs.
The owner needs to learn something about the hospitality industry. It may be his place, but customers are paying to visit and enjoy the food. This restaurant can only survive because of the tourist turnover. Not somewhere you would visit twice, or with our advice even once.
Very expensive for what it is, and they add a further levy if you use a Credit or Debit Card. read more
