The customer service here is usually pretty awesome but I definitely wouldn't recommend the grocery delivery! 9/10 deliveries I am missing at least one item, many times it's multiple and they don't always do anything to make it right. This Safeway is close to where I live. Today I went in for some Polish Deli Ham which was on sale. For one, there were three women at the deli counter that ignored me; I was the only customer there. Finally one asked if I'd been helped(huh?) and told the other to wait on me while she walked away. This woman threw down her knife and asked me what I wanted, not pleasant at all( they all need Starbucks Customer Training if you ask me). I told her I'd like a pound of the Polish Ham, she said it's not on sale anymore. I said the price shows $3.99 a pound next to the ham. She came around the counter, opened the display and ripped the sign down saying it's not on sale anymore. She then asked if I still want it. I said yes at the posted$3.99. She said no. I believe legally she should have sold it to me for 3.99 and I should have complained to the manager for her rudeness and false advertising. But I left rather upset. I've only seen one young man that works at their deli counter who is very pleasant( give him a raise and fire the others). He is the only reason I give the Deli counter 2 stars. They definitely have attitude problems making me never wanting to shop there again. The deli counter at the nearby Frys is a much more pleasant experience. I plan on writing this to their Corporate headquarters as some of their pharmacy workers are rude also. I now go to Walgreens forPharmacy. read more

This is my go to store since I live two minutes away . As far as the customer service. Everyone there is very nice and helpful. The store is very clean, I've gone to other stores nearby and they don't feel as clean as this Safeway. I haven't experience any issues with expired foods like the previous reviews, but I've noticed if I go to Safeway in the early morning after dropping off my kids, not all the meat is out, which requires me to come back to grab steak or short ribs . Overall, they have good deals and five dollar Fridays on select items . This Safeway has a Starbucks inside as well . read more

When I first moved here this Safeway was the best grocery store around. Unfortunately it has gone downhill from quality of food to friendliness of their customer service. They offer a senior discount on the first Wednesday of each month which is great if they would stock the shelves. Many times I've gone only to find them out of many items only to find them fully stocked the next day and they don't offer a rain check for senior discounts. I've commented about this but was told they can't help it if the trucks don't come on time, which I understand but month after month, seems a bit fishy to me. Unless they are busy there is no full service register open. I asked about this as well as was told there is always the one open you just have to ask, they can't afford to just have someone stand around at a register waiting for a customer. Ok, I get it but they could at least turn on the register light so you know it's open. I looked for someone to see if a full service register was open but no one was around. I don't mind the self service registers when I only have a few items. The people there who shop the online orders (these are store employees) are very rude, will push you aside to get something and they block items with the large carts that they use while they wander around looking for items. Thankfully there are still a few people who work there that are very helpful and very friendly, who are also frustrated because they hear a lot of complaints from customers. I have spoken with the manager about my experiences over the years but apparently it has fallen on deaf ears. I do a lot of my shopping now at Fry's. read more

In recent years this Safeway has gone downhill. There are multiple safety issues that the store flat out refuses to address, certain cashiers who are rude. Customer service starts at the top, when you have horrible management running a store who treats their employees bad, that will trickle down to the customers by the employees. I've been in touch with corporate about these issues, we'll see if this changes anything. Tip: make sure you check dates when you're buying items, sometimes things you buy will be expired. -that's anywhere. *As far as the review regarding the parking lot, cement blocks are NOT needed in the parking lot. Watch out for the butcher! While shopping this morning I noticed the London broil was on sale and decided to buy a small one. Looked very nice in the package but this evening when I opened the package and turned it over it was 60% fat. There is no way the butcher didn't know when he packaged it. Not the first time I got a London broil here that was way to fatty but this it by the the worst. Safeway Silverbell --- get a new butcher!!!! I had a very very long day at work I was exhausted that I didn't want to get home and make dinner so I stop at this location to get chicken and potato salad. When I get there the gentleman who works there was covering the food with paper but still I asked him if I can get some potato salad he said no sorry we are closing. If you want to be treated like garbage Safeway on N Silverbell Rd is your store. We as customers are almost always required to use self check. We are not trained grocery checkers and do not know how the self check machines work. If something goes wrong we wait for help and are then treated with disrespect by the checker overseeing the self check. It happens all the time. Today I used self check to purchase something that was $2.50 off. I went to my car and realized I was over charged $2.50. I went up to customer service for a refund. A worker named Loree was standing behind the counter. She had a scowl on her face. She looked around and gruffly said what do you need. I explained about being over charged. I was instructed to insert my credit card into card reader to have funds returned. The card reader asked for my phone number. I put in my phone number and waited. Loree looked at me with eyes that could kill and bitterly said, do it again and this time leave out your phone number. I called the store ahead of time and spoke with someone in produce. I asked if they had bean sprouts and a gourmet chop suey mix and he said yes. We arrived at the store about 10 minutes later to find out they didn't have the chop suey mix and he said to check back tomorrow which didn't work for me since I needed it for dinner that night. This Safeway is usually a pretty clean and well-stocked location. There's nothing amazing about and nothing too terrible (except for maybe the women's public restroom). Any employee, who isn't a cashier, generally seems to be in pretty good spirits. I'm not really sure why the cashiers seem miserable like 75% of the time and this was true even before all of the COVID-19 stuff. This location has been doing a pretty good job of consistently keeping the carts and other high-tech areas sanitized, so I have appreciated that. The florists they have at this location are also excellent and very creative, so give them a visit. read more

I experienced terrible customer service from Safeway at 9100 Silverbell in Tucson. We were double charged for an online order. The exact dollar amount showed up twice on our credit card statement. Sounds easy for the company to fix, right? Wrong. For over three weeks now I've talked to five store staff with a variety of excuses why they didn't know what to do. Person #1 said the credit would show up in less than 5 business days - it didn't. Person #2 said they had to "escalate to a level 2" and promised to call me back - no call. Person #3 took my info (third time) and promised to call me back - no call. Person #4 (a manager) said would have to contact "IT" and promised he would call me back in less than 48 hours - no call. Person #5 (the manager) said because over 2 weeks had gone by it could not be resolved at the store level and he'd "have to call IT". Said they would have to "research it". I was surprised at the terrible customer service and lack of knowledge about their own system. Over three weeks now and Safeway still has my money held for ransom. Went to Safeway this morning at 6:45 because between 7 and 9 it was supposed to be for seniors 65 and older with ID. Of course since the store opened at 6am everything was already GONE ! And guess what they weren't just open for seniors. I asked a clerk "why weren't the adhering to their company policy and I was told too many people were yelling at them and said it was age discrimination so they didn't even bother. When I said your stores are putting this out as a special time and it's not against the law because of special circumstances She just said"well we can't be bothered!" Heck of a corporate policy!! Love this Safeway. In comparison to others more downtown, this one is super clean and organized. I appreciate that the restrooms aren't locked either. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I find the newly updated layout to be easy to navigate and location items. Highly recommend also to download the safeway app. I've been countless times and they always have what I'm looking for in stock. Also the pickup option is nice as well. Produce is always looking fresh and the staff has always been nice. Starbucks sometimes gets a large line but that's to be expected. Self checkout is available and the floral department always has nice displays. Once I purchased some egg beaters which had expired, and they were prompt to fix the issue. Stopped to pick up prescription on our way back home, which is a 6 hour drive and was told it should take 20 minutes to fill. The pharmacists did not have it ready and waited a little longer. I was hoping since I get my prescriptions in Lake Havasu at Safeway that this would be the quickest way as my son is sitting out in parking lot waiting. My other favorite grocery store! We've been here several times in the past several weeks since moving here and it's always been a good experience. All the employees are pleasant and helpful. The store appears to always be well stocked and beautifully maintained in every way. So clean! I love clean! I haven't purchased anything from the bakery but that's sheer willpower. It all looks delicious. I've found my favorite section, fresh produce, always an eye catcher and fresh as can be. I love fresh cut flowers throughout the house and I'll definitely be checking the floral section out frequently as soon as I'm a little more settled and ready for the beauty. We normally go in the late evening and there's rarely more than a handful of people in the store. The only thing lacking is self service checkouts which I tend to frequent, if possible. Always a good experience for two people that really dislike grocery shopping. I really like this store but I like it a lot less than I did when I began shopping here. If I understand correctly there is no self checkout because customers want "human interaction". Really? I'm not that needy. I'd rather not stand in line while the cashier talks too much to the "needy customer" or vice versa. Short line, long line, doesn't seem to matter, checkout can take forever. read more

Like some of the other reviewers, I'm about 1/2 way between the Fry's and the Safeway. I may go to Fry's for the odd item on the way home from work, but this Safeway is really where the deals are. If you haven't already, ensure that you're part of their free Safeway club membership. The app is very intuitive (sorry, not exactly this specific Safeway related, just Safeways in general). I've had several shopping trips where my final price is a savings of more than 50% (and I've got the receipt to prove it!) because of their coupons and 5$ Fridays. As for this location specifically, the store is incredibly well managed. Bought a 60-pack of eggs recently and found out that several in the center were broken, and was promptly afforded a refund upon my return, despite having used some. They've gone out of their way to ensure customers are happy (who couldn't be with 50% savings!). If you haven't visited this one because Fry's is on your way to work like me, I suggest going by on a Friday when their best deals are out. Still impressed by this location. They have started to carry a larger selection of gluten free items and their produce has been top notch lately. They are in the midst of remodeling their pharmacy area but they have made the impact on the rest of the store minimal. The cashiers are friendly and it is easy to find help if you need it. I usually hate grocery shopping but this Safeway makes the experience relatively painless. So today I went to get me usual coffee that I get from any stand alone Starbucks, the lady behind the counter seemed so uninterested in doing her job, once I gave her my order she rang it up , and i asked her why did you charge me for adding another flavor of syrup and she goes ooo u asked for a sec choice of syrup. There isn't a bad hint I can say about this place. The deli has the best meats, the produce is always, I mean always fresh and the butcher block is amazing. In the summer they sell different kinds of gourmet burgers, big enough you can reshape and double up at home. They are delicious. Truly a great environment, courteous and helpful associates! They do have somewhat of a confusing parking lot, but I have seen worse, and who honestly care's if it is hard to manuver or not. They have a very clean environment, including the restroom's which are immaculate. Also everyone there are very friendly! The only thing I don't like is the giant speed hump on the left side of the parking lot, which make's going down it very sketchy if you have a lot of groceries.
