I had an unexpectedly meaningful experience at this Trader Joe's. I was buying a pomegranate, and two employees casually started talking about Rosh Hashanah-one asked whether it was still the holiday, and the other knew that it was. It was a tiny interaction, but it meant an enormous amount to me. I have spent the past three years studying antisemitism while also experiencing it personally, and I have grown accustomed to wondering whether being visibly or recognizably Jewish will provoke hostility. These employees simply treated a Jewish holiday as a normal part of life: no judgment, no discomfort, no political assumptions. Just, "Oh, it's the Jewish New Year." That ordinary recognition made me feel welcome, human, and part of the community. Thank you for creating a store where Jewish customers can feel known and comfortable-and where Rosh Hashanah is simply a holiday that people know about. It made my entire day. read more

We 've been superfans of Trader Joe's since their very beginning and before when they were just a funky nuts and treats store in the 80s We were sitting near the exit when our small dog barked at someone passing by. (We know, our bad!) She's a service dog in training and is not quite there yet. Shortly the stoe manager, named Joeph, came over. After some brief conversation he announces, "We have a policy that there can be no barking dogs. If your dog does it again I'll have to ask you to leave." We were just catching our breathe about to go, so we asked, "Would you like us to go right now. We are sorry dog barked." He replied, "We have a policy that there can be no barking dogs. If your dog does it again I'll have to ask you to leave." (Same words!) "Would you like us to leave now? To that he replies, " I'm just telling you our policy. If your dog does it again I'll have to ask you to leave." Then he reiterates, "We have a policy that there can be no barking dogs. If your dog does it again I'll have to ask you to leave." "You repeated yourself three times." I tell him. (In fact, four) "Maybe we should just go," we say. He again says, "If your dog does it again I'll have to ask you to leave. I'm just telling you our policy." I told him that repeating over and over was being rude, If he wanted us to leave he could just have asked us to. But standing over us and repeating over and over was uncalled for. (Our dog is a little dog, but we understand that it is not appropriate.) So we get up to leave. He then says, "We have a policy that there can be no barking dogs. If your dog does it next time I'll have to ask you to leave. I've seen you before." That's fitfh (or sixth) repetition in a row. We're now outide and he's blocking doorway. I didn't recall our dog barking before. It might've happened, but he had certainly never spoke to us about it. She's not a troublesome barker. She is not an aggressive little dog. Sometimes she does get nervous.) "Have a good day," he says. "See you again". "No. No, you won't." Comment: He would've been justified to ask us politely to please not stay at exit with barking dog and maybe just go outside. It was hot and we were waiting for our ride, but he would've been within his rights to do so. It's the passive aggressive hostility and rudeness we object to. That was the first time I've ever encountered anything like this at any Trader Joe's nationwide. They're always sopolite and concerned. it also makes me wonder whether they're not going the same nasty institutional route of Whole Foods and the other big Supermarket chains. I had a gift card to TJ's and I decided to use it for my Birthday. I went in and was looking for an amazing steak! All the people who worked there were friendly, and made eye contact, and the store is SO clean. Also the people shopping are happy! That is a bonus indeed. I digress....the meat selection is extraordinary. I picked out a nice bone in package of chicken thighs and a lovely ribeye. The cashier was super friendly and I left the store smiling. All Trader Joe's locations in Tucson are phenomenal, though this is the one I've been to the most. The food selection and customer service is some of the best I've experienced not just for a grocery store, but for any business. The staff is always happy to help you located any products you might not be able to find and they're always super kind in the check out lines. Now to the food itself, which is just as great as the service. I think the "Frequent Flyers" flyer, which contains all of their most popular items, is a really cool addition to everyday grocery shopping. The seasonal items are phenomenal too, my favorite being the Pumpkin Loaf. Utilizing hand written signs adds an extra cherry on top to the authenticity that Trader Joe's provides. If you have not been, I highly recommend going and make sure to grab a Pumpkin Loaf while you're there as it's only available in the Fall! read more

Traders Joe's is, of course, a great place to shop. Traffic getting out of this location can be tricky. BUT I came here to say that if you lock all your belongings in your car after a long day, the employees are incredibly helpful and kind. Justin went above and beyond to make sure I found a solution, and another kind employee brought me a bottle of water. Thank God I had grabbed my little three-pack of marshmallow eggs out of my iconic paper bag before closing my trunk. They were delicious,. We've been loyal TJ's customers for many years, and the two stores in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area helped us get through the pandemic. This Tucson area store is a perfectly good example of the brand. But why does east Tucson get two stores, northern Tucson gets two stores, and south Tucson gets . . . nada? Here's an idea. The City says about 100,000 people live and work within a half mile of the Sun Link Streetcar route. And many of us who do are students, professionals, and older adults who really appreciate TJ's. So, how about a new location somewhere along that route? An added bonus for TJ's would be that many UA students who get hooked on the store as youngsters, would become life-long customers. Please keep bringing out the good stuff! There is always something new here to try. I love that about this grocery store. They have seasonal specials as well as some amazing staples always in house. The staff is awesome. Friendly and helpful, I get a lot of suggestions from them on new items. The produce is good quality. Cost is reasonable. I wish there were a few more items and all organic but that is ok. The avocados are good here I only get them here. Eggs are good here. The meat and fish options are alright. The shredded beef is my favorite. I make beef and broccoli. The pizza dough is $2!! I buy it all the time. I love it! I mean who doesn't like making your own pizza. Dress it up with all the fixing they have the sauce, the cheese, and a ton of options around the store. I especially like to grab some fresh, organic basil. The frozen section has a ton of desserts and entrees. They also have specialty items like naan bread. A lot of things you just put in a pan and heat up or throw in the oven. I especially enjoy the BBQ pizza. This is also where you can find more seasonal treats....just above the frozen section. The english toffee is killer! Near the checkout line you can get last minute items that change all the time. Another good area to find seasonal treats and cards. Remember to bring your own bag! They love that. All queues full, Francisco (Cisco) opened another register just next to me and pulled from the back of the line! Cash register 101, take the next person in line. When I asked why he did not take the next person in line, his response "Just trying to help out". I called BS, he rang the bell three times, scurried away and Michael closed out my transaction. Hopeful they use this review to conduct training, that when opening a new register, you service the next customer first vice those at the end of the line. Honestly, I wasn't really bothered by the error but rather the way it was handled, in that it wasn't. Three bells draws Manager Michael, your commerce is taken and you are sent on your way with no resolution. Again, Cash Register 101. read more

Trader Joe's on north Campbell east side south of the river has been here for many years . ( previously older shopping area on the River including a casa Molina in 70's ) . From the fearless flyers , take home shopping bags 99c , frozen foods, produce , wine , seasonal offerings , and fun floral you know what to expect ! ( what did I forget ?) Good customer service from my experience . This site on busy Campbell north of the u of az agricultural farm can be challenging ingress and egress . Try using the street to the south and circle around to the light south of the farm if easier? ( u need a map?) I love this location! Trader Joe's is notorious for having bad parking lots and this is by far the most tolerable. It's close to the bay bridge and bike path and even has a nice little picnic area and an area to lock up bikes out front. read more

Small but mighty! I can always find joy in walking down the aisles of a TJs and this one felt smaller than most (so I did a few laps!) They had a good assortment of flowers at the front and lots of fresh produce. I love getting green onions that are already bagged here. It takes the work out of messy, stringy greens! There were a few items I couldn't find, and an exasperated employee walked me to the snack aisle pointing down at the crisps I was in search of. Checkout was a breeze, and the guy working there was friendly and helpful like most TJ employees. It must've been an off day for the one gal who was restocking when I asked about the crisps. It's owned by the same people that own Aldi, family owned from Germany. Their company has had a long commitment to organic food and reasonably priced food. I think they have some great values and their fresh squeezed Orange juice and their fresh squeezed grateful juice are outstanding values. They also have fresh pieces of grapefruit that are in water and cane sugar. They have lots of good looking vegetables and fruit. They have a good selection of meats. They also have lots of frozen food especially vegetables, potatoes and main dishes other things like French Onion soup, chicken and pork wraps that a person of the person age can use a little bit at a time. They have organic yogurt mill almond milk all the kinds of things you would find with a Whole Foods or a Sprouts. They have a great selection of wine as well. It is a complete grocery store. They do a good job of trying to serve people the best way they can and make sure they have plenty of cashiers. Parking was easy and plentiful. read more

Ever since Jiff discontinued their Cinnamon Peanut Butter, I've been on the hunt for a substitute. I tried Justin's (way too grainy) and some other off-brands to no avail. Then I saw an ad for Trader Joe's Cinnabun spread and I thought that I'd give it a try. Not peanut butter but it does have cinnamon. So one week before Christmas I head to this Trader Joes. The place is jammed with people and I'm navigating around, looking for the Cinnamon Spread. I finally gave up and saw an associate standing around looking like he had nothing to do so I asked him where it was. He looked at me and said they were out; they only carry it during the holidays. This was the first time my girlfriend and I had ever been to a Trader Joe's! We have obviously heard so much about it through social media and from my sister in law so when we were in Tucson we knew we had to stop by! So by first impression, I expected the store to be bigger but don't let that fool you. They have SO MANY SNACKS! Like it was snack heaven and the prices were very good! We got the mini peanut butter cups, dried mango, chocolate chip cookies, the bagel seasoning, their bbq seasoning, Cajun seasoning, some ice cream, and so much more! When you hear it said that Trader Joe's accepts returns pleasantly, do not believe this across the board. It all depends on the people who are accepting the returns and then deducting them from the sales of other items purchased in the store. Some managers and crew members are rude and condescending in attitude as well as in making snarky remarks. This is true also for some people working at the checkouts who are hateful about requests such as no double bagging or separating glass jars so they don't bump together and break. At one time, it seemed to me that everyone who worked at Trader Joe's was friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. There are still some very nice people working there, but everyone is definitely not nice. read more

I don't buy a house unless I know there is a Trader Joe's near by. It tells me a lot about a neighborhood. Holiday food, and coffees are a Must, especially the harvest ones! I look forward to every season foods, Recipes and above all fresh cut of flowers that are affordable. I have a lot of gluten and dairy allergies. So vegan gluten free combined foods are next to impossible to find especially organic. Trader Joe's is always on top of it and always adding great variety to the mix! i was dragged in here by my girlfriend out of the blue and had only heard about how much people love this place. i was skeptical at first, but after 30 or so minutes of shopping i was very impressed with the cleanliness of the workplace and hospitality of the employees. at checkout we had to the pleasure of joshua taking care of us, and in my 25 year of living, ive never had more of a pleasure speaking to a cashier and we even got a complementary bag once i mentioned i had never shopped here before. he ensured my eggs were okay and i left with a smirk on my facing telling my girlfriend we will have to come back. read more

This past Friday night, my wife and I travelled 55 miles (each way) to shop at the Trader Joes at River & Campbell in Tucson. When we got to the check out counter we realized we had not brought a method of payment. Needless to say, we were beside ourselves. We let our checker, Martin know that we would drive home, and come back within 2 hours to pay for our groceries. Martin promised to leave them in a cart that would be waiting for us when we returned. 2 hours later, we returned and we were SHOCKED at what Martin had done with our groceries! He had rung all of them up and bagged them. He had placed the frozen items in the freezer. He placed the refrigerated items in the refrigerator and the rest of our groceries were bagged and waiting for us in the cart. He escorted us and our itemized receipt to a check stand and waited until we paid for our groceries. Who does this? Martin did this!!! It was the first time we have ever logged 200 miles to visit Trader Joes and Martin provided us with WORLD CLASS customer service. Martin made a tough experience a very memorable one!!! I love this Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's doesn't have everything I may need but they have a lot to make up the difference. They have the best flowers over any other place. They have actual good frozen foods. The produce options are pretty good for being so small. I love the three layer hummus. I have come to mainly shop here and return again and again. They have very friendly staff and they always have multiple lines open so you're not waiting for very long. During the worst part of the pandemic they had the best sanitation regiment. This is the best TJ in town. The vibe here is welcoming maybe it's the location, it's close to the Riverwalk and restaurants. There's no left turn when you leave the store, thank goodness. There was always an accident with people trying to head North. The store is bright and clean. Love the salads and fresh produce. There's always a new salad and my son gets the wraps to take to school. If I'm trying a new recipe I'll go to Trader Joe's for the ingredients, they usually have it. They have great seasonal items. If you want to try a new product, let a staff member know and they will let you try it. If you buy it and change your mind you can return it, no questions. Pick up fresh flowers for a fraction of other stores and there's a lot of variety and don't forget the cards for 99 cents. Bring your own bag, they like to double up the paper bags. read more

The people at this location are just fantastic. Always chipper and eager to help you. Per the usual they've got all the goodies you find in other stores, with a good selection of organic items. Super clean and they greet you at the door with a freshly cleaned buggy or basket. This store does feel smaller than other TJs I've been to but I think it might just be how it's laid out. Only negative I have is I bought some cut up watermelon that said it still had 2 days before it went bad. I got home and opened it and it smelled awful, I threw the whole container away. read more

Trader Joe's is my one true love and favorite grocery store of all time. It has so many delicious, unique, and affordable products that you can't find in your average grocery store. I have staples that I pick up every visit, and I usually come home with something new and exciting too. It's not the best place for fresh produce, but they have a great selection of prepared foods (salads, wraps, etc), gourmet cheese, and shelf-stable goodies. They also have a great selection of wine and beer including local favorites- and here's a tip: you can purchase many of their beers in single bottles and cans to make your own 1-pack, 6-pack, etc. What's not to love? Update 9/14: Still love Trader Joe's, but I have consistently had issues with bakery items and cheeses going bad before the use by date. In particular, the shelf-stable wraps and loafs of bread go moldy within days and the Brie goes moldy after opening, again within days. I won't be purchasing these types of items in the future unless using the same day, which is unfortunate read more
