Jason was really nice and helped me buy Korean tea Solomon's root and they have Decaf Genmaicha $6.99, both teas more difficult to source on the shelf. Then it was onto Mackerel where we talked texture, oily-ness of Norwegian (more oily like Koreans eat) vs Spanish $3.99#. Sold whole uncleaned $4.99#, I got 2 medium for $11.50. Hickory Smoked them for Chinese New Year celebration whole, they were excellent, simply salted 30 mins prior to firm up and season the fish. Also scored a packet of dried Kefir Lime Leaves for Thai curries $2.99. Store is packed with lots of finds, Japanese Beer, rice seasoning, seaweed, asian sauces, Sushi grade fish, octopus. Fresh section is more limited to Napa .99c/#, 12oz Beansprouts $1.49, Kim chi, mushrooms, ginger, etc. At at last Hubby was so happy to find something he liked looking at in a grocery store...tools, lol! A long pair of 24" scissors with serrated edges at very end, a Korean BBQ grabber for cooking $5.99. It's home however shall be found in the garage, for hard to reach screws and nuts, loosening them or placing them I'm told duh, What a bonus haha. Sandyi is my new go-to for Mackerel, sushi grade fish, Japanese & Korean staples, an easy corner lot stop with plenty of parking. Thanks Jason! read more

Great little market with a nicely organized selection of Asian assortments. I really appreciate the variety of ramen options -- plenty to choose from whether you like something spicy or more traditional. The hot & sour soup is flavorful and satisfying, and the rice candies are such a fun treat. It may be a smaller store, but it's packed with a surprisingly huge selection. Friendly service makes the experience even better. Definitely worth stopping in! read more

This market is one of the best, if not the only Japanese leaning market in Tucson. I cannot stress how good the Sashimi grade meat selection is here. I love the different types of sesames seeds and Shoyu, and misos. The store seems to be a family owned business and they are always really cool and kind. I like how one can buy a few regular vegetables like green onion, if I forget so I don't have to head to Safeway on the way home if I am making Poke. I like the entire vibe of this shop. Right now the traffic is messed up 2/26 but I highly recommend this amazing market. read more

10 out of 10 I would visit again! Even though the store is small, there are still a ton of different snacks to choose from (I bought kimbap). The shelves were fully stocked (kitchen gadgets, frozen foods, drinks, ramen, small rice bowls, chips, etc), and the place wasn't that busy either- especially on a Friday. I would have expected more people to be there. The environment was nice too. read more

If you're looking for some basic staples for Asian cooking, Sandyi probably has what you're looking for. They were able to pack a lot into this tiny store. I'm happy with the seaweed, tofu, and rice we purchased from here. Some prices are higher than Lee Lees or Grant Stone but the location makes it more convenient for me. read more

Every time I visit, I'm always warmly greeted! I love how organized the store is as it makes it super easy to find everything I need. I never run into low quality items and the prices of everything is very fair. This store is a lot closer to me than Lee Lee's, so I visit here when I need little things. My only complaint is that it lacks some things that I need for Southeast Asian cooking, but that's not a big deal or expectation because it's a Korean grocery store. This is definitely one of my go-tos. read more

I do not cook Asian food often. I get nervous using ingredients I don't know. Today I wanted to make Taiwanese ramen soup, and went to Sandiy's. This tiny market did not disappoint. They had a good selection of anything you needed, a robust frozen/cool section, and they were helpful with the only item I could not find on my own. I am Korean American, and this is my favorite Korean market it Tucson. They have staple Korean produce and meats for Korean BBQ and shabu shabu (like Japanese hot pot). They have a huge ramen selection! Very important for Koreans as we are one of the largest ramen consuming populations. They have trendy ramens from Korea, like cheesey ramen yum yum. Great selection of Korean staples like oils, pastes, and soy sauces. Great frozen food section. The service is amazing. The owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. read more

I really liked this store. It was very clean, organized, neatly displayed, and all items were clearly explained in English, Korean and/or Japanese with nutrition info/expiration dates. I only mentioned this as some other small ethnic grocery stores lacked such important information. Once I stepped in, I was greeted with " hello, how are you? " by an unassuming, a mask-wearing , a kind gentleman who might be an owner. I was able to find everything , which were fresh & inexpensive , I was looking for at ease. Loved the juicy & sweet Asian pears, huge daikons, cabbages, & varieties of Asian snacks ( mostly Korean) I used to love. This will definitely be my go-to store whenever I need hard-to-find Korean or Japanese groceries. read more

Omg, I love this store!!! It's been super difficult to find a good Oriental store that has a variety of items I am looking for; I FINALLY found the one when going to jiu jitsu practice. The Owners/Workers are SUPER SUPER SUPER NICE, so that's definitely a HUGE PLUS.... Store is clean, their items are well placed/stocked... definitely a variety to choose from. This is my favorite little market in all of town not only is it super close and convenient but they have a great selection of food and snacks. I always end up spending more than I meant to because everything just looks so delicious. The owners are always so friendly greeting me as soon and I walk in the door and helping me with anything I'm looking for. 10/10 recommend this place and will not stop going to this cute little store on the corner. read more

This place everything on my shopping list for cooking Korean and Japanese food. It even had a specific Vietnamese fish sauce I had been searching for for ages. Wonderful Korean Market with very sweet owners. I'm in love with their fresh kimchi! They are always well-stocked with a variety of Asian staples from beer and sake to dried foods, meats, dumplings, packaged snacks, miso pastes, and fresh produce. I bring my roommate here frequently because she loves her some Korean groceries. The owners are friendly and take orders for things they don't have. I'm not as hugely into Korean food as my friend, but Japchae is something I like to cook and eat and they have several kinds. Lots of Japanese selections too. read more

This is a well stocked Asian store. They have some good items here but be careful what you get out of this store. My first impression was not so good. Why? I noticed the price for the same items were different for many of their products on the shelves. An example is Sesame Oil (a small bottle was 3.99) and another bottle of the same size is 9.96. Wow. You can get ripped off here if you're not paying attention. I bought 2 ramen noodles , same brand same size same kind but when I got home I noticed that they're 2 different prices. How could that be?? That's not right. $9.96 for a package of ramen noodles? Someone is not putting in the right price here. You can buy a 4-pack of the same brand and item at Walmart for $6.95. Good store but pay attention to what you buy here. read more

What a neat little place! I was pleasantly surprised when I found this place so close to my house. Lee-Lees, as awesome as it is, is a drive for me so this place is great for us central-lites. The best way to describe this place is "a little bit of everything." Noodles, oils, sauces, rice, sweet and salty snacks, etc etc. I was surprised at the small section of fresh noodles in the fridge section. The fridge holds these delicious red bean cakes that I can see myself returning for. This place seems to have been a convenience store in a past life, and this little store is a bit run down, but it's a great place. A nice central option for when the need for Asian ingredients arises. read more

I feel like I just discovered a hidden gem! I've probably passed by here a number of times but never thought to stop by until tonight when I googled asian markets because my husband and I wanted to make sushi but didn't have any of the necessary supplies. We found everything we needed to get started on sushi and even got some delicious ginger crackers. The staff was very helpful when I couldn't find something. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon. They even have sake, though I can't rate it because we didn't get any tonight. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I had to go elsewhere for the fish and vegetables, but I didnt really look to see what fresh produce is available. read more

Albertsons corporate offices clearly have not spent much time in the stores judging by the decisions they make. For example. Today I did some light shopping but big enough to need a cart. When I go to check out there is only one cashier lane open (as usual, even though they need more) and the line was full of several people with large quantities in their cart. So I go to the self check even though it pains me knowing self check just means one more person without employment. Anyway they now have these massive bins holding sale items smack in the middle of the tiny self check square. Total nightmare! If you have a cart you are unable to pass to exit since other people are at a kiosk checking out and there's zero room between them and the sale bins. It is one big traffic jam and the poor employees are forced to move people around while they're trying to check out just to keep the line moving. There was so little space that I am fairly confident this is not ADA compliant. I truly think Albertsons corporate believes that only people with small items and no cart go to self check. If you only employ one cashier however, this is not the case. Especially on a busy weekend. I will never understand forcing your customers to be employees and not paying or even trusting them but that's a whole other topic. Every customer and every employee was frustrated and complaining about these stupid sale bins. It does not take a genius to know this was a bad idea. Remove the bins!

I did enjoy some of the weirder, nontraditional grocery store items like squid jerky. However, I am vegan and I struggle to find vegan items within all of the options. If you think snow, parking is very tricky. Unless you live downtown and you plan on walking, be prepared to do a little bit of walking in order to get to the store. The store also had alcohol, and toiletries. What the store is known for is their deli, which I did not partake in. I hear their sandwiches are amazing but I didn't see any vegan options.

They still have the pizza take out bar with a variety of toppings. They have some items or brands you won't find in other places but may not have brands you get elsewhere. It's nice to discover some new things you haven't tried before. The bakery has some tempting things to look at. The store is large with wide enough aisles so you can browse easily. Prices are a little higher than other places but some things may be worth it. The parking is limited only because of all the other businesses in the area. I'll go back and look around again. The spring rolls I got were okay but the dipping sauce is not what I expected which was a tangy sauce. Usually for spring rolls it's a peanut sauce. For sushi they have low sodium soy sauce available which is a plus. There is very limited seating at the store to sit down and eat so most likely you'll have to bring your food home. All in all, it's not bad. Fairly cheap, and a decent selection!

I have to choose this locale, where I went Wednesday, to moan about the severe hike in prices, short cycle of products, and the drift from doing the basics correctly. TJ used to march to a different drummer. House brands with quality for household staples, often with an international flavor and source. There is still a wide variety of decent international staples, but it's highly focused on cult products and flavorings. Prepackaged and ultra-processed foods are becoming standard(s). Protein is down, carbs are up. There's still a reasonable variety of veggies, fresh, but not in wide abundance. Certain common items, like walnuts, go missing for long periods of time, and other items become seasonable and their shelf space is unreliable. So while it's still good, there is now wade through the weeds of products that are edge-case. Hail Mary Marketing attempts. I bristle.
