4/24/26- Came in for the $5 specials in particular in the Deli. Was getting things for dinner. It's usually busy on Fridays with most at the deli getting the $5 specials. I usually go early getting there between 10am and 11am, before they run pierces as 5th in line for the section with the fried/grilled chicken, chicken nuggets, Jojo fries, and short rib ends. Love the shirt rib ends, so was waiting to get some. The employee helpungcamwas a laemployee and the customer begoemre me was rude and impatient. This customer wanted the grilled chicken pierces , but had very poor communication skills. He kept asking for the small brown pieces. The latino employee would point to the chicken legs (the small legs made of brown meat). The customer didn't say anything so the employee put the kegs un the co trainer. Then the customer is saying, No the small brown pieces, again. So I'm as confused as the safeway employee. So the employee just starts pointing at different pieces, thighs, wings, breast. The customer keeps saying no to the left the small browner pieces. The customer is obviously getting upset and turns to look at me for back up But dude you're confusing me too. The customers says to me, He doesn't know what im talking about. So I tell him that I don't know what yiyr talking about The customer finally says Whatever just give me the chicken and walks away. I'm next so I say Hi How are you to the customer being courteous. I saw there wasn't much short rib tips left, so I was going to take whatever was in the tray. However the employee says, let me get some fresh ones they just finished cooking. So I received 1 lb of fresh cooked short ribs. Being kind goes a long way. Went here to get a bouquet. I regret not going to an actual florist but this was last minute and supposedly a quick option. It took awhile as there was a "bouquet ahead of me" and the results were horrid. First off I gave you a whole cluster of greenery and barely any was used. The bright yellow flowers were meant to also be filler and a bit of a pop of color, but she treated it like the main event.. I couldn't even see the pink and white flowers I had chosen. Mind u, snapdragons are tall and she had them tucked under and hidden. I went home and rearranged it myself. Definitely not worth the $55. I can see why the Safeway has very low rating from customers. I came down here to pick up lottery ticket and evidently their machine our program to shut down at 7 PM. I was just told that the customer service desk closes at seven but also the lottery machine which really doesn't make any sense. I can just go to a liquor store or a gas station to buy my lottery ticket, but it appears this particular. My review is for the flower department, Alma and the manager Julie who went above and beyond! I called a day or two in advance for a birthday flat wrap and let Alma know I wanted soft pinks and whites. I wasn't too picky on the flower type just the colors. Fast forward to the day of pick-up, Alma called me earlier in the day to let me know they didn't receive any soft pink but said they had hot pink. It wasn't my favorite or preferred but I agreed, it's still pretty. So I said it was fine. When I went to pick up the flowers, OMG, they were SOFT PINK! I was sooo happy to see the beautiful wrap. Alma was gone for the day but another girl was there. I was like ohhhh you guys got soft pink after all? The girl said no! She said the manager Julie had driven to the Pleasanton Safeway on HER. DAY. Today, Upon approaching the customer service counter and a momentary wait for the customer ahead of me, was told by store manager, that she "was the boss" and that they had previously but recently decided that they weren't processing the 3$ CA CRV returns for Nutcher glass milk bottles for "you guys" anymore because -- thats when i politely interrupted the store manager and asked (as I had been traveling alone today) " I'm sorry, but who's you guys?" she didnt say anythingbas i repeated myself several times, waiting for her response, finally she glanced and pointed toward my backpack strap and said you know, you guys with the backpacks and everything. i felt like she was now accusing me of being a bum and a thief.After rudely ignoring me and refusing to acknowledge her comment, she asserted that whoever or whatever group of people she assumed i was a part of had apparently been stealing the processed milk bottles from behind the store. I went at 9:30 to get a birthday cake and since the sign says you can't go in the back and call for help I called a worker over and he said I cannot go back there and I point at the sign and I asked for a manager and worker said the manager told him not to go back there. Floral department Aryanna in the floral department is an absolute angel. I was a royal pain and asked for a bouquet to be broken down to 5 different little bouquets and individually wrapped. She didn't hesitate to say no problem and was so sweet about it. Not to mention she did an amazing job!!! This department never disappoints. I always get my floral bouquets from here. I pick my fav flowers and they rearrange them and wrap them beautifully for me. Highly recommend!!!! read more

Big Safeway plenty of items in stock and on shelf's had no issue finding everything I needed and wanted yeah and stuff I didn't want or need but had to have it anyway Plenty of Easter goodies caught my eye along with the basics we need Check out lines are nice and clutter free easy to maneuver through with your cart bagging area was nice sized with room to put your own bags on the counter while bagging them up. Prices are getting Higher can't believe what we are paying to survive but it's everywhere not just Safeway. Parking lot is good nice plenty of room to park spaces are a little tight but there were spots opened when we arrived. Cashier was pretty quick with her scanning but was In a rush while we were trying to bag everything up she sighed when she saw we were still bagging when she finished ringing up our items. The last two times I have walked into a Safeway I took one look at the line at the registers only to make a U turn and run out. Because of this I have been recently getting necessities at 7/11 and Walgreens. A late night run here proved convenient - few people in the aisles so I didn't need to dodge people... and most importantly no lines at the registers. Highlights here are the donut display and the abundance of refrigerated beer from which to choose. The donut (excuse my spelling - I think thats how Homer Simpson would spell it) display was beautiful. Huge glass area and well illuminated for my donut decision making. Furthermore, there were pre-packaged - presumably fresh - packs of a dozen - on discount to quickly snap up. A bunch had awesome little cookie monster donuts. Haven't seen this at any other Safeway. Cooled beer was also in abundance. My usual is Stella in a can - and at most Safeways it isn't ever available.... I suppose many others like to support the aluminum can industry - or perhaps hipsters think they look better holding cans rather than bottles. Come here for donuts and beer - a diet of champions. I didn't have time to take my time to write this in to post this last month due to my workplace had me working a lot more hours so now I finally have the chance to write this review and to share with all of you about what went wrong. I ordered a Christmas cake for Christmas dinner, my family and I were looking forward to eat the cake, but after slicing the second layer, that's when I notice something was sticking out. It's a PIECE OF HAIR! I took some pictures and videos to show proof that this long, strand, thick hair that I pulled out halfway, was coming out from THE OUTSIDE LAYER OF THE CAKE! Where the frosting is at! And that's not the worst part! After observing the whole cake to see if there were anything else, sure enough, 10 minutes later, I FOUND ANOTHER SECOND LAYER OF LONG HAIR I PULLED OUT HALFWAY! Disgusting! I took the cake back the very next day and told a manager there about what I have found and they gave me a refund, apologized, and said they will have the manager from the bakery have a look at it when they can. They have me select another Christmas cake for free after giving me a refund. C'mon Safeway! Step up your gear! You "use to be" a good place to shop! I'm beyond disappointed on this! read more

I always get tri tip when it's on sale and have the butcher cut it into 2 in steaks. They take care of me every time. Customer service is a rare thing anymore. So when I get THREE ppl going above and beyond in the same day I have to give them credit. First, lupita in the bakery!! I was so upset because I wasn't able to order a cake for a friend at work the day before and I was desperate for help. Not only did she take the time to come and help me find an amazing substitute for the cake I needed she took time out of making all of the Mother's Day cakes and graduation cakes to write on the cake for me! Recent upgrade to this location and it looks great! Most things I needed were stocked. Love all the ready to cook options/meals and larger produce section. One down side is when I have to use the actual cashiers I seem to always get a cashier that's has complications. Using a cashier here definitely tests my patience, so I typically try not to buy alcohol here anymore. read more

Giving 3 stars because the cake was delicious. I didn't give 5 stars because of how the cake design actually came out. I asked for green and they gave me a light colored green that basically blended into the white border which was hard to read the words on it. As soon as they showed me the cake, I was disappointed because it was for my baby shower that was starting within an hour so we didn't have much time. The lady then asked "ok so what do you want me to do" as if I already didn't ask her to darken the color frosting. She looked at me with such attitude and took it back. They ended up coloring over the words which helped a little but still, payed $80 for a cake and it was not what I asked them to do. I attached the picture I showed them for reference and then the cake I actually got. Like I said, if I payed $80, the least they could do is actually make it look like what I wanted!! Management is extremely rude with no justification. My sweet mom was told over the phone she could receive her free bottle of smart water she should have gotten with her sushi purchase a couple days prior. My mom is extremely soft spoken/introverted so I was proud she even had the courage to do this! However once she arrived at the store she was bounced back and forth from cashier to the sushi department for at least 20 minutes and it ended up with the manager (did not get her name, larger framed woman) humiliating her saying "oh no we can't honor that, if we do it for you we gotta do it for everyone ". It would have been perfectly fine if they told my mom they were unable to redeem WHEN she called the store before heading over there. I was over a month out from my wedding and went to a handful of flower shops in Tracy and they all turned me away saying they couldn't meet the time frame and some just seemed to not even want to help at all. I was told by a friend to check out Safeway floral department and I am so glad I did! I had the best experience with the ladies in the floral department at the Tracy location and the flowers are so gorgeous! I got to pick and customize everything and they had no issue meeting my month deadline for the wedding. All the ladies were great and friendly, I personally got to work with Olivia and I believe Alyssa and they were both so amazing and accommodating! When I picked up my flowers I wanted to cry because they were so beautiful and everything I dreamed of and they even made a quick toss bouquet for me! I would 100% recommend getting flowers for all occasions here, you won't be disappointed.
