I visited this location while visiting a family member and WHOA. This place is even bigger and more exciting than I could have expected. I love to cook, so of course grocery shopping is fun to me. Their house generic goods usually cost a fraction of the price that competitors charge (including the other store that starts with a W!) Make sure to hit up the bulk bins. I bought about 2.5 weeks worth of groceries -- including cheese and some delightful chocolate wafers -- for under $65. I even found some brands and products that I can't easily find in my own area (Contra Costa County.) At checkout time, things move pretty smoothly and efficiently. My checker was friendly and super speedy. I was able to bag up my own groceries out of the way of the next shopper, which I think keeps the lines running quickly. So today at around 2 pm, I went in and bought cream cheese, bread, Diet Coke mini's, Coke mini's, and fruit snacks. I get to the register and the worker RoseMarie was my cashier. A lady in front of me had an adorable baby so I complimented her on how beautiful her daughter and said that my biggest dream is being a wife and a mom. Rosemarie looked at me with disgust when I had said that. Then when I paid for my things, I had NO POCKETS so I had to pull the money from my bra and she got disgusted and said "I have to touch that. That's disgusting" and proceeded to put on hand sanitizer in front of me. May I add, I took an hour long shower before leaving my house to be met with horrible, rude, bitter woman. Winco HR please look into her customer service background because I'm pretty sure she has none. She is rude. I'm 24 years old and I have more respect than her. And lady, grow up. 1/16/25- They now have sushi made fresh daily. It's similar to Safway's sushi in quality, but about 1 dollar cheaper. There is no sushi chef making it in front of you, but displayed in one of their cold sections near the deli. There were only 3 varieties of sushi types that I saw besides the $19 combo that I bought. read more

Pricing is a breath of fresh air. I believe your hard earned money goes a little bit further here. Everyone I've ever came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. I started coming here over 6 years ago for the meat selection and value. Winco foods, like most big box supermarkets has a variety of groceries to shop from. For myself, you'll find me there buying mainly everything that I need for my weekly meal prepping. Winco's brand of Almond Milk, cheeses, and many of their other brand name items, are a mainstay in my refrigerator at home. I like that they carry bulk items in bins such as peanut butter protein powder, chia seed, and almonds etc. And I usually get my fruit and vegetables from here as well. My suggestion is if you are new to the area, swing through and take a peak. The stores staff are constantly moving product, restocking their shelves, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the store which I greatly appreciate, because no one wants to shop in a store for food when it's a mess. I figured it was time to update my review since I shopped here on Sunday evening. I stopped by with my youngest daughter after attending one of her best friend's pool party. We were tired after being outside for 6+ hours; but, told her we need to stop by here before heading back home. It was very busy; but, we made our way quickly through the store. We all know how expensive food, gas, basically everything is nowadays. The prices here were reasonable. I only purchased items that were "good deals" compared to the San Ramon area. I will say in confidence that the items that I bought were average around 30% less at Winco vs other stores that I shop at regularly in the tri valley. Yes, it is still cash (I believe debit too; but, I didn't pay attention). The store aisles were clean and orderly. The interior lights were bright and this time there were many carts put away in it's proper designated places. This time, I might have to drive over the Altamont sooner rather than later to stock up on some more groceries. read more

Dear WinCo Foods Management, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your store regarding the return of perishable items. On April 16, 2025, I purchased several perishable products from your store. Within approximately 30 minutes of purchase, I returned in an attempt to return the items, as I was not satisfied with them. To my surprise, I was informed that your policy does not allow the return of perishable goods, regardless of the short time frame or the condition of the items. This policy was not posted at the self-checkout station where I completed my transaction, nor was it printed on the receipt. I was not made aware of this policy until I attempted the return at the customer service desk. According to California Civil Code Section 1723, if a store does not have a clearly posted return policy, customers are generally entitled to a full refund, store credit, or an equal exchange within seven days of purchase, provided there is proof of purchase. The items I attempted to return were unopened, in their original condition, and returned well within this time frame. I believe this situation does not align with fair consumer practices or your responsibility to ensure clear and accessible communication of store policies and additional store manager Vanessa and Layloni was very rude and unprofessional with my return experience. I tried to explain that I was unaware of their return policy because it's not posted where I purchased item. I respectfully request that you reconsider your policy in this instance and issue my full refund for all my items in question. Additionally, I would appreciate clarification regarding your return policy and confirmation that it will be prominently displayed at all points of sale in accordance with California law. I will be seeking small claims legal actions because of this experience. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution. We got nuts and raisins, they told us we didn't put/write the number on the bag. So we said ok and never mind it's fine, but the cashier lady kept trying to find the number. I will usually go to Tracy to do my grocery shopping at winco, I will just always go do my thing and leave, but this time I was there Saturday around noon and I went to customer service to ask if they had a disable cart available somewhere cause I found one but the battery was super low, for my disable husband, and I was tryin to see if I can get one or else my husband was willing to wait to get it charged, I asked the person in the front desk but I notice she just gave me a weird respond to my question like I was a 10 year old, she was saying in a weird tone how we were supposed to wait or something like that, I didn't notice till later that she was saying it like a Karen voice on purpose or something it was weird i can't really explain her tone, I wasn't really paying attention I was worried about my husband, I felt really disrespectful I will never talk like that to a customer, if you're doing a service and don't like what you doing or giving customer a proper answer don't do that job look for something else, I wish I had her name so I can expose her and make her feel stupid like she made me feel. When you realize you don't have any cream left for your coffee in the morning... there's no more putting off your grocery trip. I hadn't been here since pre-Covid but it wasn't overly crowded, and they were fully stocked. Maybe they didn't have the brands of more scarce items that I would normally choose, but they had antibacterial wipes, gloves, PPE kits, hand sanitizer, the works. I forgot how affordable this place is in comparison to other grocery stores... my husband and I shop here like excited little kids stocking up on good deals. Came here for the first time and I love it. It's really big and they have a huge selection of pretty much everything. The kettle corn and regular popcorn is SO GOOD AND SO CHEAP! $2.98 for kettle corn and $1.98 for buttered popcorn!? Heck yes! And the bags are BIG! Their prepared food section looks pretty good too. I need to try some of that next time. They have one of the biggest chip/cracker aisles I've ever seen. Just be careful and aware of who is passing by you in the store. If we plan it right, we'll stop off for groceries on the way back to the bay. Located convenientlyoff the freeway in Tracy. WinCo is like a cross between FoodMaxx and Sprouts, the store is set up like FoodMaxx forcing you to enter in a path. They also have a lot of goods available in bulk bins similar to Sprouts. Thanks to COVID, the bulk items are in ready to go portioned containers. Each time I go I stock up no chocolate covered gummy bears! They also have a large selection of ready made entrees, salads, sandwiches, etc at prices that are crazy cheap. From the bakery we've tried their cookies which were very good and in more manageable containers vs Costco. read more

I have no issues at this store prices are good it's a hit or miss with everyday items sometimes they have items and the next time you go they are out. Which pretty much happens at every store since 2020. Store feels clean it's a big store set up similar to the old days with Pak n Sav style you bag your items yourself so it's best to have some help to go quickly I love the deli I feel the meats here are real fresh and always taste good. Winco is great. Has a large variety of food good prices. Shopped at the one in Tracy and in Brentwood. Both are very clean and prices are lower than the stores here. I wish we had one in the tri valley. Not fond of bagging my own food but some stores since Covid don't bag anyway and don't know what an insulated bag is for. My friend and I make it a girls day out. With the economy the way it is, I understand the appeal of Winco. The prices are good, and there's a good selection of each product. Plus, the produce section is decent. Unfortunately today I encountered a shopper not wearing a mask. It was at the cash register, and the customer and the employee were just chatting it up. The employee should've mandated the customer to wear a mask. If this is how Winco is handling the pandemic, then I absolutely will not shop here. The pandemic is a serious issue, and it's so important for stores like Winco to make sure everyone who comes in to wear a mask. Wipes at the entrance for carts is not enough. Employees must adhere to the state's mandate and require everyone in the store to wear a mask. This was poor judgment on customer, and especially on the employee. read more

I have been to this Winco like 4x now and I have to be honest.. I LOOOVE this place! How have I never been to one?! I live in the bay area a d we dont have one! WTF!? They have excellent prices on otherwise potentially expensive products anywhere else! I'm a huge fan of their hot food as well! Today for lunch I got a side salad (a good size), and two pieces of baked bbq chicken for $3!! You can have any side you want, I just wanted a salad. The chicken (breast and thigh) were so juicy and flavorful! The salad ingredients were fresh and crisp! I've also had their pre packaged salads that range from $1.50 (garden salad) to $3.50 for a specialty salad like bbq chicken, Cobb, chef, all meat, etc.. so much to choose from! They have a charcuterie plate (huge) for $4. I mean, you really cant beat these prices! Also, excellent cheese selection! This place is also super clean and have great customer service. Cons: 1.
