Safeway always has great deals for lunch. I went here two days in a row. The first day I came, they had a deal on their wings. $5.99 per pound instead of their usual $9.99 per pound if you're a member. I got 8 wings and a good amount of wedges for a little less than $7. The next day, I came back and they had $5 sushi rolls, $5 10oz ribs, and more. It was quite busy during lunch time on Friday. When I came, they no longer had anymore ribs so I'll make sure to go earlier next time. As the food is cheaper, the quality and flavor is not great. However, Safeway is a great prions if you just need to get something in your stomach. They have great deals here everyday. You also get great deals as members and it's super easy to sign up. read more

I'm only giving a star because you have too! Today I had a rain check for a item and Jeannie at the customer service desk acted like I was scamming them out of the item when in fact I had a rain check and they charged me however they wanted and proceeds to contact the manager that is currently working and then tries to say I had said something when I did not In regards to such item their meat dept provided to me for the rain check. If you're gonna handle rain check the store you all understand you're still giving the same item at the sale price . You're not just charging what you think you were supposed to charge you were supposed to provide the sale item and price. She was rude and snippy trying to pretty much sell me at the price they wanted to sell it to me and I wasn't backing down and I feel like she thought she was gonna get me to back down. Nice clean store. Has a wide variety of options to choose from compared to other Safeway's I've been to. A big store with a lot of space. Not overly crowded and a simple layout. Pricing at these places makes no sense to me. I have bought some of the exact same items at Walmart for less, and there's no noticeable difference in the expiration dates, taste, or anything else. Maybe someone can explain this to me! *Pro Tip* If you don't have a Safeway/Raley's app, you NEED to get one. Lisa was my cashier today and she was wonderful. At most grocery stores the conveyor belt look neglected. However, when I was at checkout I noticed the conveyor belt and counters were super clean it. Lisa mentioned how she does her best to keep it that way. Although I only spoke to her for a few minutes, she was so kind and positive. I usually bounce around between 3 grocery stores. But after seeing the great customer service Lisa provided, I plan to come back to this store more often. read more

Safeway is my go to grocery store. First time visit to this location on my way home last night. A good stop. I think I will be going here instead of my closer one. Parking is able but I really like that there are lots of other useful stores close by. Easy to get a few things done in one trip. My closer store has the Safeway Gas which is great. This location does not but there is a gas station on the corer. Interior is laid out flowers and veggies on the left to bakery on the right side of the store. Customer service on store floor in the meat department is awful. A couple of times when asking for help Finding items in and around the meat department, they have responded very rudely and condescending and that's why I stopped shopping at the Prairie city location. However, I was in a hurry today, and I stopped by to buy some bacon and the guy was, again a different guy, but very rude and snobby and annoying. Yet another example of poor customer service. I called to complain and they transferred me to another department instead of the manager Haley and the guy said he will relay my complaint to her. We stopped by to pick up a "smash cake" for our niece's first birthday. Never heard of the concept until recently. Anyway, this Safeway was clean and relatively organized considering it was a chaotic Saturday afternoon in the beautiful city of El Dorado Hills. Employees were helpful and all of them had a face covering on. Most customers had a mask on too but I saw some without so perhaps it isn't 100% enforced at certain Safeway locations? I'm not usually a big Safeway shopper, because I find their prices on natural and organic foods to be high compared to some of my other favorite stores. However, there are a few things about this store that keep me coming back. First of all, FRUIT TARTS. If you haven't tried a Safeway fruit tart? You're missing out. Go try one right now. A sweet crust is lined with chocolate, filled with cream, and topped with a glaze and seasonal fresh fruit, which varies, but typically includes things like kiwi, strawberries, and blueberries. Because I like their fruit tarts better than most local bakeries--even Ettore's--I would be willing to pay the same price I would expect to pay at a bakery. The problem is that Safeway has started charging like, way more than that. If they would bring back the individual size for less than $5, I would buy it frequently. The bigger sizes are a little too much for me to handle on my own. Which leads me to my main issue with Safeway-- the fact that so many of their sales are based on buying numerous items. When you're only shopping for 1-2 people, it can be very impractical to be 3 or more of something with a short shelf life. Unfortunately, most of Safeway's sales seem to depend upon buying 3 or more of the same item. Prices and sales aside, though, I love this store. The customer service is fantastic. Recently, I was standing in self-check, wondering why I couldn't find Roma tomatoes, when I heard the checker behind me say, "That's a plum tomato, sweetheart." And I thought, "Oh, she's right, it is." The produce section at this Safeway is just gorgeous, like something out of a grocery store manager's dream. Everything is so perfectly stocked and merchandised. I didn't see a single item that looked spoiled, or even almost-spoiled, or out of place. The whole store is so clean and shiny, and it even smells good, like they use aroma-therapeutic cleaning products or something. One other thing I like about this store is that they tend to carry items that I have difficulty finding elsewhere. For example, on most recent visit, I found a certain bacon blue cheese that I've been looking for EVERYWHERE. The product selection is just a little bit different and more eclectic than what the main competitors carry. Overall, I feel like Safeway can be pricey for someone who is shopping for mostly natural and organic foods for 1-2 people. Other than that, I think they carry great products, do a great job of keeping everything fresh and clean, and have great customer service. read more

I was on my way home, having picked something up from Granite Bay, my Waze app chose this particular Safeway as it is on the way home a little bit more up the hill. I needed pricey ground Angus beef (that I've only seen Safeway carry) because my cat who eats raw meat is a great big pain in the rear. She will let herself starve to death, otherwise. Anyhoo, on my way to the self checkout, the color purple caught my eye. No, it can't be (I tell myself)? But oh my goodness IT IS!! UBE FREAKING BUN!! It wasn't on my grocery list and honestly I'm on a strict budget at the moment, but it was a magical unicorn in a sea of chores and to-do lists. I HAD TO GET IT. Oh, and I'm on a diet right now (boo!), so I didn't get it for myself. I got it for my hardworking family at home. And I frantically urged them to try it right away. They said the bread faintly had the ube taste, very light, but it had the same sweetness and texture as your regular white siopao bun. But then, IT HAS UBE FILLING IN THE MIDDLE. My child who is stingy when it comes to praises said it was REALLY GOOD. And the bread itself smells like ube ice cream. Whoever it is in your that bakery made this, please please please give this person a hug from all of us. Please tell him/her/they to never ever move (unless you plan on being closer to my home). If your Safeway is the only one carrying this product, I will happily drive my $7/gallon diesel carriage weekly just to get these. I have a lot of family that have requested I bring them some. This is for the Floral Dept. one star for actually having inventory of flowers. Safeway has been my go to for flowers. One because they have fresh flowers and two, they'll put a bouquet together for you. I'm always at the Folsom Blvd store. So I was hesitant coming to the Prarie Store. As much as I appreciate the employees that worked there today, the bouquet that was put together for me was awful. The bottom stems were not neatly trimmed and the paper that held the bouquet together fell apart. Nothing about it says that it's presentable.. if you want presentable flowers, definitely go to the Folsom Blvd store. They take their time with putting your flowers together. read more

Customer service at the deli section is nonexistent. There were about 5 people at that section and was given no acknowledgement. We wanted to get a sandwich but there was no help offered. If it was closed, someone could have easily said "I'm sorry we're not open right now but we have some premade sandwiches behind you." When we walked up to the counter, a lady was making a sandwich but she walked away as soon as we got there. She left an unfinished sandwich there just so she doesn't have to help us. This is a pretty big Safeway. With mother's day nearing, they had a bunch of displays up for the weekend, and still had plenty of room to navigate. The produce department looked great! With a much larger selection then I'm used to seeing at Safeways. We only interacted with a few employees, but they were great interactions! The Ladies in the bakery department were amazing! Amazing customer service from them! We were just kinda peaking at some of their pretty cakes and I was immediately (as if by magic, I didn't even see her back there) greeted and asked if I needed help with anything. Then I was very discreetly asked if the kids could have a cookie. (Kids take on the cookie, "ohhhh ya! It had a lot of frosting, I liked it. She was nice!") We ended up with a Narwhal cake! Haha Nice! All in all, it seems like a well run store. We had a good time, people were nice, the store was clean, and it looks like they work well with their vendors. Good job guys! Keep it up! Based on the customer service in the Deli Department. I went in to buy the fried chicken since it was on sale at Safeway amongst other things. It's Thursday night TODAY about 6:40pm when I got to the Deli and the Lady behind the counter wearing what looked like a chili printed mask in her 40s with dark hair took my order for my 8 pc Fried chicken. ( Yeah I'm trying to call you out!) There were no customers or a line to say the least. There was even a lot of fried chicken left. This SHADY lady TOOK HER TIME FINDING ME the BROKEN, SMALLEST pieces she can find. There were so many drumsticks and thighs, but she took twice as long searching and turning over each piece just to get the worst ones. The coupon specifically states, " 8 pc chicken: 4 DRUMSTICKS, 4 thighs" (see picture) What I got were dinky RANDOM pieces. ( See picture) she did give me 4 thighs, but the rest was just an insult! I thought she was picking out fillers, which they usually do if the piece was too small. But these were NOT fillers at all! Buyers beware of that lady. Great customer service and always go out of their way to make sure you've had a wonderful experience. This review is for the experience I just had with the cashier Seth (with long curly black hair) who rang me up. Seemed friendly with the customer before me but as soon as it was my turn his mood changed. I walked up and say hi and didn't get any response. After checking me out he says, "you want your receipt?" I say yes and thank him before walking off. Still no response. As I'm walking out, he happily greets the customer behind me with a hello! Lol. I am a weekly frequent flyer to the produce, floral, deli, and now deli/Sandwich counter. Matt is my favorite clerk, he is very friendly, always makes me laugh. Today's UPDATE is relative to their deli team. I just started coming in for a freshly made sandwich. CHRIS is a "sammich" genius! This location can get a HUGE line at &A on Friday mornings, so I try and get there before then! He has been making me the most amazing sandwiches for about a month now. Very upset at the moment got hung up on the first time and redirected the second when trying to get through to my man Maverick, just wanted to let him know the Dungeness crab chips are gas. To: The manager: Maverick worked at the Safeway in Folsom and was very nice I really appreciated him working the register and would like to say he's an excellent man, he mentioned how customers would let him know how good some of the more interesting food products they bought tasted so he could try it out for himself if he heard they were good. Love coming here, but a bit upset that I picked out batteries for 5.99 and when ringing up were 10.99. Went to double check with an employee and 7 batteries were in the wrong place labeled 5.99. He quickly moved them all to the correct place (which is why I don't have a picture) and when I asked if they'd honor it, he completely ignored me. I asked again but instead he insisted on me buying a smaller package for the 5.99. I didn't need the smaller package . Any way, most grocery stores should honor the price if there's more then one in the wrong spot. They did not .
