I'll probably be calling corporate because the blatant racism here is so strong and I feel that this employee probably shouldn't be working for a place that doesn't blatantly support disparate treatment. I had the misfortune of visiting this safeway when I also had the misfortune of coming to this one horse town. I bought a few items which were on the coupon clipping specials. I clipped the coupons before I arrived. At checkout the attendant purposely didn't respond to me waiving my hands and when he finally did he made faces before he walked over. Strike one. Then I tell him in a very articulate manned that I was overcharged and by how much. Again witj the eye rolling. Strike 2. Then I had to practically beg for the refund like it was some inconvenience to him or it was his $. This was at the self checkout btw so you know whom to lookout for. I will also say that while doing the refund they had to very loudly discuss the amount of the refund and the type of card used in a failed attempt to embarrass/belittle me. I need not elaborate. Anyways 3 hours later I got my refund. I'd also mention that after calling out the simple error and doing the math in my head (he needed a calculator and could barely figure it out),, he said "Dude, what do you want me to do". Um I'll just leave that there. I'm not, nor have I ever been a "dude". The rest is obvious. Next stop is corporate. Oh and I cannot in good conscience recommend that my BIPOC client move to Duvall for the safety of her family and for the safety of any semblance of her piece of mind. The inhabitants can keep this place all to themselves and wait for the meteor to hit. It can't happen too soon! read more

The Duvall Safeway has become difficult to shop due to heavy daytime restocking that blocks aisles with pallets and carts. Narrow aisles are also filled with extra display stands, making it easy to bump into things. Checkout is often understaffed, and the checkers frequently have no one to relieve them for breaks or lunch, which leaves long lines and stressed staff. The store really needs to address restocking times, aisle layout, and staffing support. read more

Well, I should have read my review from before where the meat is lousy. This weekend, "Country style ribs", on sale. Country style ribs are cut from the shoulder where there is fat to be able to render them tender with proper cooking. These were cut from the lean meat low on the shoulder blade with no fat. This area of the pig is only good for sausage. I cook ribs so they fall off the bone, these....my wife and I had a piece, took a couple of bites and put it back on the serving plate. UNEDIBLE. Threw them all out, waste of time and money. And, as usual, only 1 check out person working and a very long line waiting. Management....don't waste your time with the usual,..."we will check into the long lines but there isn't anyone to hire out here.....and....I will check into the meat issue with our butcher. Fire the butcher, well, maybe not, he is probably just following orders from management and may even feel bad knowing he is cutting and putting out total crap on the shelf. QFC on novelty hill, close and much better for service and quality. Management from Duvall Safeway should go there for class on how to properly run a grocery store!! It's one of my favorite grocery store! I basically know anyone who works here and they are very very nice. I also like the Pharmacy, the service is fast, and they are very nice. My only complain is that we can't find a lot of items that we would find in other Safeway stores. Sometimes I get an idea upon request, but it is not very common. The fact they open until 1 AM is a plus. read more

There's a cashier there that won't bag your groceries. She will put each item on the counter and wait until you bag it yourself. Doesn't matter if it's a slow evening or if there's no bagger available, she won't bag your groceries. She will say she's busy. She was NOT busy. I never had this happen with a cashier before. Pharmacy canceled our covid vaccine appointment literally 10 minutes prior and left a message to call back to reschedule. Did not explain why the cancelation was happening- just didn't care we had taken off of work and school for this. I called back and was told by Sheryl to "go somewhere else", "stop calling", and hung up on. Pharmacist would not provide the name of her manager for prompt resolution. Poor service, poor customer service. You are not the only pharmacy in town and I have easily taken my business elsewhere. You would do well to improve your communication, customer service, and staffing. read more

It's just another Safeway. There is nothing particularly standing out about this store. I am surprised to see so many poor reviews. Weird. This store is good , reliable , clean. I shop there occasionally and they have good selection of regular food as well as organic, special diets etc. Their pharmacy could be more efficient. It's super slow and their staff are not good communicators. There were a couple of occasions when I had to return to the store because my medication was "not available yet" despite of their staff promise the day before. I am reviewing the pickup service that Safeway offers. I had a 7:00pm pickup time but at just before 7:00pm they text me to say my order is running behind schedule and they will text me when it is completed. Well, at 8:15pm I called customer service to see if I could reschedule for the morning pickup since it was getting late and I had not heard from them. The girl I spoke to said she would follow up and call me back. She said I would have to call back in the morning to schedule. Really??? Then she said they had left for the day. What??? They left and didn't bother to tell me my order wouldn't be ready that night. I was in total shock that Safeway would do that. I had her cancel my order and I got the name of a manager. I then ordered my groceries at QFC. It doesn't seem like Safeway really wants my business. read more

Deserves negative 5 stars......always stuck in long lines. They say they are short staffed, BS! they are too cheap to hire enough people to take care of their customers. Prices are super high. Product on sale are marked up then the sale price brings them down to a normal price. RIPOFF RIPOFF RIPOFF RIPOFF!!! Sadly, the expired items still on the shelf, long lines and mostly unfriendly atmosphere make this a last ditch grocery store in town. The icing on the cake though is the pharmacy. Despite the upgrades behind the counter to make it easier/safer with the prescriptions you are appalled at the lack of hygiene that the pharmacy employees have. Dirty and I mean downright filthy smocks and medical jackets. Are they sharing clothes? Do these ever get cleaned? Food stained and dirt on the collars. Not just one employee but all three behind the counter had dirty uniforms. The employee who checked us out had dirt under her nails. No Thank You. Never again. Management needs to take into account the unhappy reviews and really open their eyes to what this store is turning into. Yuck. read more

I am SO sick and tired of coming in/stopping in here after work and them having no hot wings left, ever (Everly the nasty, dried up crispy ones at the bottom with all the meat rock hard and stringy!) . Or enough fried chicken. Why oh why, can you not just MAKE MORE!! I have tried to stop in anywhere between 4:30 and 5:30 for almost a year, couple times a week and there is NEVER any wings or chicken left. This is obviously the busiest time if the day, especially for grab and go hot deli items., for busy families, etc... Why can't you just replenish the chicken, for crying out loud, around dinner time!? Especially since youre the only place/store in town that has a hot grab and go deli! This is just poor planning and poor management.... I'm giving up and won't stop here or shop here anymore. read more

This store gives me shoppers rage. They are always understaffed and now they have removed the self check out. I hate myself every time I stop here but I keep doing it because they are on the way home from work. Never again, we are though! Always hated that they charge different prices depending on if you have their card or app. Must buy a certain number of items to get the sale price. Even if you do use the app there is no guarantee that it will ring up correctly. Shopping is not supposed to be difficult. The lady Tracey that works in pharmacy should not help customers till she completes a customer service class. My daughter has dual insurance. When she tried billing my first insurance, she informed me the medicine is not covered. I then pulled out my other insurance card but she didn't even bother looking at it or even try to process the claim on that card. Instead I was charged full price. When I mentioned to her that I do not recall the medicines being that expensive, it didn't click in her brain to try and process a claim on the other card. When I got home I called my medical insurance & they informed me the 2 prescribtions should have been discounted. I went back and had my claim reprocessed. Lucky by another person. read more

What am I doing here? I eat the "handcrafted salads" a lot. Which includes a lot of packaged items. DO NOT EAT THE CAPRESE SALAD. It's not good. Actually, the tomatoes they put in all of their salads are just sad in general. But I'm buying a pre-packaged salad from Safeway, what should I expect? This Safeway is just as Safeway as any other Safeway. Except my neighbor works there (what up bro?). Not good for produce, not good for meat. Really good for Campbell's Chunky, which I eat constantly. It's really close to my house and generally cheaper than QFC which is further from my house anyway. I really need to move. read more

Incredibly rude and incompetent pharmacy. I tolerated their mistakes for over a year, with refills they "forgot" to fill, missed notifications (text, phone, nothing worked), and nasty, stupid hags working the counter. Today, I called ahead and talked to a real live human to refill two regular prescriptions. When I made it through the line, they didn't have the second Rx, with absolutely no explanation of why. Pharmacy Hag told me, in a bitter monotone, "It'll be a few minutes. I can help whoever's next in line." So I stepped aside and waited. Guess what? Pharmacy Hag screwed up the Rx of the guy in line behind me. Shocker! He said he had called yesterday and they guaranteed it would be filled by 3pm today. Now, at after 7pm, they still didn't have the Rx. Pharmacy Hag shrugged and said, "I don't know why. They might be out or something. Try again tomorrow." I kept waiting. Five customers went ahead of me. I asked, "How long is this going to take?" Pharmacy Hag glared at me and said nothing. Finally, the actual pharmacist quietly brought me the refill. Pharmacy Hag continued to ignore me while chomping gun. Apparently she can't chew gum and be polite at the same time. Needless to say, I'm never going back. Never use the pharmacy here unless you absolutely have no other options. read more

Safeway has apparently decided that all Brand Names must go.... I've watched product-after-product become "Signature Only" over the past few years and they seem to be accelerating the process lately. I've checked to be sure that these products are still being produced and carried at other stores. I'm not thrilled with all the new construction right now in our city, but maybe it will result in our getting a real grocery store some day. I'd rather spend a little more for the option of buying other brands. I have found very few of the "off-brand" here that I care for. Edit: I've changed from 1-star to 2 ---- only because I really like the people that work there... they are very friendly and will call out my name in greeting from halfway across the store. read more

My close friend has shown me that there is indeed life past Redmond. (I live in the South end and other than visiting her and going to school in Kirkland, have no reason to go anywhere that far north or east.) I love this Safeway because every time we go, there are awesome plant displays outside that make me want to garden. Yes, even if it is the middle of December. We always seem to come in late (thanks for being open!) and for that, I don't have to deal with grocery store lines. However, there is a chance that we'd have to battle the how-long-are-we-going-to-have-to-wait-before-someone-sees-us-to-ring-us-up thing... but we don't. And it's great. A little smaller than the Safeways that I am used to, but haven't been frustrated with not finding what I had come for. read more

I will never use this pharmacy again, whichever woman I spoke to on the phone treated me like an absolute inconvienence to her when I requested to be called when my Rx was ready. That was at 2pm... I had a family member stop by and check on the Rx when they went for some groceries at 7pm and he must have spoken to the same woman because she snapped at him informing him "she knows to call me when it's ready". I plan on calling again first thing in the morning because this is rediculous, my Dr. is closed until Monday and I NEED this Rx, I had an emergency surgery done in office and ABSOLUTLY HAVE TO HAVE MY ANTIBIOTICS. What the hell is wrong with this pharmacy staff? I am in the medical field and am absolutly appalled, they just don't seem to care they are screwing with people's health! read more

Nicest Safeway. I drive from monroe to Duvall when I know I need to find higher quality foods and a larger organic option. Parking: free big parking lot. I do get flustered when a car show is hosted in the parking lot on a holiday when the store is guaranteed to have more shoppers than normal. We spent 15 min trying to get parking finally gave up. My husband dropped me off and then I had to call him to drive back to pick me up. So if you see an event in the parking lot just skip this Safeway and head to monroe to save yourself from the huge migraine. Produce: always looks well stocked and fresh. Cheese selection: better than many stores but can't beat the whole food cheese selection. Staff: friendly and Helpful Flower selection: well stocked the couple times I needed flowers. read more

Sadly, this Safeway is not worth shopping at anymore. Took out the self check and now it takes forever to buy even one item. I also often find items past the due dates. It's worth the drive to go to QFC 10 minutes away - better products, and it probably even takes less time over all. I moved to Duvall 3 years ago. I am a regular at this Safeway, I never expected to feel loyal to a grocery store! The staff is just great. Trista, Kristin, Joeden, and Kerri are especially sweet and helpful. There have been times my toddler is in full meltdown by the time I am just trying to get him out the door and their understanding smiles & "I've been there, too" attitudes have soothed my frazzled nerves, which is much appreciated! The only times I haven't been able to find something I'm looking for is when it's a specialty item that I can find at Whole Foods or The British Pantry. It's a small town grocery store, they can't carry everything, but I do 98% of my grocery shopping here. We rarely eat out and cook pretty much every night, so that's a lot! read more

Anyone who believes the competitive spirit in America is dead has never been to this supermarket when the cashier opens another checkout line. This is espescially true if everyone is loading up for the Seahawk game. Furthermore the other line always moves faster. Even if you are not getting ready for the game- the odds of going to this Safeway store for a loaf of bread and coming out with only a loaf of bread are three billion to one. That is because they usually have sone bargains- you know- something you can't use at a price you can't resist. The beer sectiob has a decent selection of micro brews- but their imports are pretty lacking. The prices are a bit higher than Wal Mart- but it's closer And lets face it If men liked shopping, they'd call it research So this Safeway works for me read more

I love this Safeway. I have on numerous times gone in on a whim for a last minute cake for a party only to find that they have a number to choose from ... And they look and taste great. The bakery always seems to be on top of things and the shelves are well stocked. The breads are awesome as are the pastries. Kudos to Tressa and Melissa for bending over backwards to help me find what I needed. I'll recommend this to everyone. read more

I have always felt that the Duvall Safeway was not quite up to the standards of other Safeways (in the 10 years that we have lived out here). Most specifically, the wait in line is always very long. But tonight there was 17 people in one line. Seventeen. I was in there 28 minutes to buy one product. My husband and I officially will never go back. read more

We have lived in Duvall for fourteen years now. We live a mile and a half from Safeway. We drive ten miles to go to the Novelty Hill QFC instead. While it is easier/less gas to shop in town, two remodels in less than ten years means that this Safeway's prices are higher. Their produce and their meat are not the best, either. I have to agree with those who've already mentioned the staff being less than friendly. Unfortunately, this is normal for Duvall. Roger the manager does a good job of reaching out to the community. Our interactions with him have been positive. read more

Don't bother. This Safeway doesn't want your business. Poorly stocked and staffed by people who make the DMV feel friendly by comparison, now they've done away with the "self-checks". Lines routinely run 20+ minutes now and show no sign of improving. Today I waited for 31 minutes in the "Express" line during what wasn't a particularly busy time. Virtually every customer in the store was in line and the aisles were empty. Ten minutes north, I can find more stock, cheaper prices and I never wait more than 5 minutes in line. Worst stor experience EVER!! Staff is rude, They are always sold out of everything i'm shopping for, and only have two check stands open at a time. Use the self check out if you want to get out of there in less than an hour. Beware when using "selfcheck" for anything that requires assistance because the clerks are extremely rude.
