    Produce Section is nice.
    Michael O.

Yelp may have been listened to from what I saw. The previous reviewers complained about freshness, but what I saw recently was the opposite. Normally I shop at the Giant I. prince Frederick, but on the way home one day, I stopped by this Safeway. The Giant's vegetable section is always hit or miss. Most stuff is on the verge of being thrown out. Now this is from only one visit to this Safeway but WoW. The produce section was akin to a whole foods but without paying triple. This section must have been remodeled because it had the faux wood vinyl flooring. Usually at the Giant, you have to quickly eat the produce or vegetables or they will go bad. This store's produce and fruit stayed good until it was all consumed. Also I got a rewards card without any problems from a manager who was standing at the checkouts up front. Also Michelle W. Is right about the firehouse horn. It scared the crap out of me and my daughter one day. It is so loud it will make your ears bleed if you are closer to it at the Wawa.

Some but not all of the staff acts put out and bothered. Harris Teeter and Giant employees more professional.

This is a pretty good store. They're not so hot on baked breads, but otherwise it's ok. They have a gas station with pretty cheap prices.

My poor rating is regarding the issue I had with one of Giants employees, Angela/Angie this…read moremorning. I am a regular shopper for DoorDash in this location and have never had a problem until today. I had two separate orders, so I went to self checkout so I could bag everything accordingly and double check everything. I start scanning my first order and Angie comes up with her handheld scanner and scans the paper towels on the floor. I question her and let her know that the paper towels are not for this order, that there are two separate orders. She continues to tell me that's why I should've gone to a cashier because she's supposed to be monitoring me. Fine, monitor me; but don't just go scanning things when you don't know what's going on. I didn't realize it wasn't okay to have two separate orders in self check out. So I continue to ring up the first order. As soon as I start my second order she comes back up to me and tries to scan the paper towels again. Like at this point I'm feeling singled out and harassed. I have done nothing wrong, I have never stolen anything. I was working, so I wasn't even paying for the items myself. I then tell her to get away from me that she was harassing me. A manager Cindi came up and said that she was "just doing her job." It's her job to monitor. If I was doing something wrong or stealing something, then yes, confront me; but I was doing nothing other then ringing up two separate DoorDash orders. I feel discriminated against by this Angie. If the situation was reversed and it was a black customer and a white cashier, then it would be considered racism; but since she was a black cashier and I'm a white customer that's okay? She was nothing but rude, accusatory, and harassed me for no reason. This is not okay, and the fact that the "manager" stood by her and said that was her job is ludicrous. I come to this Giant to shop all the time and I have never had a problem any other time I used self checkout. I have never had an employee try to ring up my items, nor was Angie trying to ring up any other shoppers items.. just mine. That's the definition of discrimination and it's not okay. I think it's time for Angie's racist self to retire.

From the trendy items you may see on social media to the hard to find ingredients for your mixology adventures. I look forward to returning for snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and their assortment of adult beverages as well.

They had a selection of Pinotages, as well as the best curated selection of wines I have seen locally. They also had some great deals in front of the store for curious drinkers. Now, whenever I am in the area I tend to pop in just to see what they have new. Just a note about the management: I believe the owners and management are fairly new. I have always had great service there, and some solid suggestions. The shop appears to be run by a couple of very knowledgeable ladies who make an attempt to know their customers.

Plus the berries were delicious of course, as were the corn, watermelon, and tomatoes we bought at the farm stand and all really affordable! I'd recommend going at a slower time - we got there at about 10:00 on a Saturday and by 11:00 it started getting crowded. For the first hour it was easy to avoid other families, and get lost in picking out our berries, but when it got crowded it became a little harder, but not impossible to stay spaced out. Plus only 45 minutes from DC, it's a nice get-out-of-the-house, forget about COVID, and get-out-of-the-city activity, and you could even do it with friends you are distancing from and spread out while picking. And bonus - they plant and give to Maryland Food Bank. We plan on going regularly until the season ends, for sure.
