This Safeway location is basically on par with the rest of them. It's not warm or inviting, but it's overall pretty clean and we all need groceries. Signup for the club card if you want the sales price on the shelf. They are now doing a thing where you might have to clip a digital coupon to get the price...or just not buy it. The self checkout machines have worked as intended. When it comes to ID checks the employees are real hit and miss. Some of them seem to forget that they're being paid to carry out tasks and they don't like being asked to do them. The biggest thing I've noticed about Safeway in general: watch those prices! Of the things I buy regularly some of them went from Safeway being the cheapest to now being double (literally) the price than other grocery stores! It's to the point that I stop by Metropolitan Market and PCC first and then possibly finish up at Safeway and I think that says a lot. read more

Basically, I like the store but there is one checker that REALLY needs to go!!!!! I have been in her line several times,(just one checker) and she WILL NOT smile or interact in a friendly manner if her life depended on it. This time I asked her if the meat rang up at BOGO and she nastily said, "It comes up at the end JUST LIKE ALWAYS!" If you are working in the service business it should be IMPERATIVE that you treat your customers as though you want them to return!!! Otherwise, this type of job is NOT FOR YOU!!!! When I complained to the person in charge he said: "I know, we've had so many complaints on her but she is one of our best checkers". Another employee told me that she (the employee Kym) states that she is there to work, not make friends REALLY?????????? ***This is particularly a review for the restroom only*** I came in to use the restroom and to purchase some Starbucks. I could not believe how filthy the restroom was. It appeared it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. You can literally see the dirt. I do not understand how the store can have the restroom looking like this!! It only tells me that they do mot care for their customers and/or employees. It's unfortunate. I hope management staff or the corporate staff will view this and do something about it asap!! Didn't realize everyone getting tired of Kroger owning all the grocery stores in area. Expect to pay in 4 places for 1 stop. Waiting in lines with 1 cashier and 8 customers in 3 of them. If you talk to the store director he will say it is to bad. Called customer service to talk to regional refused to call back first time. Second refused to call my cell since wife's is on account. Tried twice with no luck. Unfortunately it is the only store within reasonable distance from house. Profits up service all gone. read more

My visit was specific to purchase flowers for a birthday and a balloon. I did find a nice vase of roses and a balloon! I was shocked that this single balloon very nice as it may be was $12.99 or $14.99 and the flowers they were red roses about six and some add on flowers in a skinny oblong glass vase were $45.00 I would have preferred to go to a florist but I was in a pinch. I found them quickly, hope they last and don't die quickly. Checkout was quick and painless however the only draw back is I was alone, the vase was filled full and no box to place it in. I managed to work it out but if was difficult. In a pinch I would buy again but feel the price is a bit high for the balloon. read more

I don't even know what to say I entered this Safeway of course I know it's in a bad neighborhood right off the highway but with it being so close to a good neighborhood I guess I was doing strength-based thinking that they would have great food quality and cleanliness the store was so gross and so nasty I had to use the bathroom because I just got off work which I definitely didn't sit on the toilet or touch anything it was super nasty super gross I am embarrassed for them I really think that they should clean their bathrooms more often and or even have a key so the homeless and drug users do not make a mess of it the staff was very friendly. There is lots of parking in the location is easy to get to but a big negative is there were like five people in line and only one cashier there a way too many people worried about stocking then actually checking people out so bad customer service in my book read more

I want to give a shoutout to the deli person that assisted me on Friday, 11/10/23 between 8:30-9:00 am. When I was unable to find chicken salad, she offered to make me a batch. Since the dinner menu for that night was chicken salad wraps, I sincerely appreciated that she stopped what she was doing to make some. It is so unfortunate that one doesn't get great customer service like this much anymore. It is because she went above and beyond that I was inspired to write this review. So I really don't like going to Safeway but it's on my way home. They have become so sketchy over the last couple years and they are getting worse. It's hard to feel safe just walking thru the parking lot. The only reason I am giving this review is for Shabrina in the deli. Shes a star super nice and sweet and very helpful. Very unhappy with the service I received shopping today. I come to this location quite often and today was absolutely a terrible experience. I am a manager in hospitality and would never treat my guests or employees in a cold manner. The cashier whose like I was in asked Eric (a manager there as I was told) if he can use the keys for the alcohol.. This location is the SCARIEST Safeway I have ever been to. I was approached today by a man in his 20s who was asking me all sorts of questions trying to get me to leave with him as I was waiting to use the restroom. When I refused he pulled his shirt up and showed me that he had a knife and I took off running, thankfully the manager at this store was kind and helpful and walked me to my car. Okay so reading the reviews lol it's like come on its Safeway. I go in and I go out. Simple mission. Not there to conversations with the staff, I just need my groceries. Now with that said. I like that this Safeway always has a sale of some sort and a clearance food section because I am an absolute thrift shopper!!! Their hot foods usually have a few over cooked items which sucks for those that love their hot foods hahaha. The bakery makes fresh items everyday which is pretty cool considering that it's a grocery store and typically you wouldn't expect them to be good but they're actually alright. EXCEPT THEIR DONUTS!!! THEY'RE DISGUSTING!! As far as the staff goes when I need help they help me and that's good enough. One thing I would have to say which is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 4 is that they usually have pretty long lines and not enough registers open. Something they could fix. I bought a bagel from here today for the price of .69 cents and I must say that it is good. I mean it's not Panera Bread bagels (which I did get as well, next review hint hint!) but for the price they're good. The store is not too over priced, I believe that must of the prices are reasonable and the Safeway reward members club thingy is totally worth it. read more

This is the worst Safeway in the area. Closest to my apartment and I mistakenly show up once in a while when I need something. Especially since Covid, they clearly don't want to pay any checkers any hazard pay so there's usually only one or two working. You're guaranteed at least a 15 minute wait if you shop here. There are a few really good and nice checkers, but the store and its management are disasters. read more

Never ever buy the donuts they make here. I got a donut a couple weeks ago in the morning, around 7am, and it was dry and stale. Today I gave it another shot and picked up a blackberry scone (again at 7am) It was so dry and old and crumbly like it was made last week! Disgusting! Also be careful with produce and bagged salads. Most of the time very good options and choices but sometimes you can't find the floral person to wrap or re-wrap a bouquet. At times they actually wouldn't even have a floral employee which makes it tough. Overall shop at this location pretty often. Better than the one by where I live. read more

Today I went to purchase a few items and get breakfast with my husband in the deli my husband went over to the deli before I did and there were 2 women over in the deli department (which neither of them acted like they wanted to help him). Then she proceeded with repeating what he wanted and she said no we do not have turkey then she wipes her nose across her arm to her wrist "mind you it was her bare arm not a sleeve". Used to be okay shopping there (location is a bit dicey). After my last experience, no more. Only one lane open (this is typical) and our carts were backed up five stack. The lone cashier was apparently new and kept leaving to confer with someone. As I was finally checking out, she called for a second cashier. No one to help load my groceries as the box boy was assigned to the second lane instead. This was after much chatter amongst the employees standing around if he was scheduled to work or not. Lots of giggling and hollering to each other. The lady in charge hollering appeared to be in charge, but who knows. Most unprofessional service I've ever received at a Safeway. I'll drive to a different location or go to Freddy's. Oh, and they had security for a while, but that appears to have gone away. Be careful in the parking lot. Oh, and don't do Pick up. We were in today and needed flowers. As we walked up to the floral counter with 2 bouquets to wrap, the clerk Yolanda was behind the counter. She started to walk away with someone, and I asked if she could wrap the bouquets. She said no, Im going on lunch. I said I just need a piece of paper. She repeated she was going to lunch. I then asked if someone else could help me, and she said no, Im the only one in floral. Then off she walked. My 9 year old watched this, and said, thats not good customer service, at all. Well said. Its safeway... there isn't much to say. I live 5 minutes from here. Fred Myers is always too busy so I come here most of the time. Lately though I drive 20 minutes just for better service from a place called the Normandy Park Market. Prices are also a little more but I'm willing to pay more money to not be treated like I'm making someone's life miserable. The employees are union and act like it. You can complain to management but nothing changes, you still get to same checkout lady every time and she does hate you. She hates your existence on this planet. She blames her bad life choices on you wanting to shop at your neighborhood supermarket. Its a true test of patience to come here. Somedays I truly contemplate whether I really need groceries or If I can survive another day without going to THIS safeway. If this place was my only option for food I would starve to death. The cashier would attend my funeral... happy I died. OK I'm over exaggerating slightly, she probably doesn't even know I exist, she hates all customers equally. Seriously though I hate coming here. This store should be avoided. It's dangerous. The management has lost control of theft and hobos. Last week a guy was pissing in the aisle during the day. His pants were sagged down on his way out. No underwear. Full dick and balls exposed. Shoplifted chips and a banana walking out. The cops showed up right when he exited and security pointed him out to the cop. The cop told him to stop. I would like to give a good review for the employees who iv met while shopping there. There two female women who are always working and look overworked. They cashier at this location and i have witness the individuals coming in the store causing trouble of some form. I went in there this evening and it was closing hour too. This is a pretty run-of-the-mill Safeway. It has loads and loads of parking like every other grocery store in suburbia, and is laid out like every other large Safeway I've been in. All I needed was a bunch of bananas, and I was able to get a good-looking bunch for a pretty normal price. My cashier was a witty high schooler who managed to get a chuckle out of me. Overall, it was nothing special, but I'm not complaining since I've certainly had far worse experiences in a grocery store. read more

This has got to be one of the most ghetto Safeway's around! Not only is it ghetto but the store is constantly understocked on everyday common items! I grew up with Safeway and am amazed that they let this one get into the condition it is in. If you have to use the restroom, DON'T for fear of catching something, one of the filthiest I've seen. This Safeway sucks! I was going to let this go but I have 3 incident to report on my trips to this location. This is all in the last few months. Firstly, I found a moldy cheese hanging with the other cheese and I gave it to one of their clerks. I did not make a big deal about it and just moved on and not do anything about it. Thinking that we all make mistakes and someone must have slipped and forgotten to move one little cheese. Secondly, I bought a loaf of bread that was not fresh, not soft but actually kind of hard. I was so disappointed because I just bought that bread and it feels like a week old bread. Thirdly, this past Mothers Day, my daughter went and bought breakfast fixing and bought a platter of mix fruit. It was not fresh, taste like vinegar, like old spoil fruit. I love watermelon but I could not force myself to finish my first piece, so this is a waste money and food. I would not recommend this store to anyone if you are buying your perishables here. If I could give them no stars I absolutely would! I bought white chocolate chips from here on 4/18/15. There Best Before date is 10/30/14. Five and a half months since there best before date is absolutely unacceptable. I went back in and they still have these items on the shelf. I now know that it is not illegal to sell things past there best before date just morally distasteful. Great products, friendly staff. However, I wish that store management would have something done about the overwhelming number of pan handlers. Nothing is being done, it's almost like they're allowed to hang out there. I am approached by homeless people who hang out outside the exit every single time I shop there. I will not go there at night. Tonight I was approached by a man asking for money and told him no but he hesitated almost like he was going to try something. Then I saw him car prowling in the parking lot and approaching people in vehicles. This is a usual interaction that happens frequently.
