This is your typical, run of the mill Safeway. Nothing fancy, just enough to get your weekly shopping done.
We split our shopping between here, King Soopers and Costco, but this is the closest to our house so we end up here often. It's smaller than other stores I've been to, but I haven't had a problem finding anything yet (we've been shopping here just over a year). I can't comment on the deli since I've never purchased anything from there, but I do like the pharmacy and the pharmacists - they're always super friendly and fill my prescription while I'm shopping in about ten minutes. The bakery is also good, their fresh bread which they keep not only in the bakery section, but up by the registers is delicious and I've definitely given into the "fresh out of the oven temptation" once or twice (or more...) and enjoyed every bite! The produce section has everything I need for my basic cooking, sometimes there are a few bad apples (pun intended?), but I can always find what I need. If I need a quick snack, I love their pre-cut fruit selection in the plastic containers - always fresh and delicious. I've had cantaloupe, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, but I believe there is even more! There is also a decent greeting card selection if you procrastinated on that Mother's Day or birthday card.
Once you have everything and it's time to checkout, prepare yourself. There is no self checkout, and the lines do build up like other Yelpers mentioned. Oftentimes, my cashier also bags my groceries, other times, I end up bagging which is not a huge deal. In the time I've been shopping here, I've never seen more than three lanes open at one time.
It is located right off of Colorado Blvd in a busy shopping center, so sometimes there's some people hanging outside, but I've never had any problems. I never feel unsafe and I usually go shopping alone. They have a large parking lot, and I've never had any problems finding a spot even during busy shopping hours. There is also bike parking and a few tables off to the side of the entrance. They've recently updated the bathrooms so you don't need a key anymore. There are new stalls and decorations. The women's restroom (I can't comment on the men's) is tidy and clean.
By no means is this the fanciest grocery store on the block, but it does the job for day to day shopping and basic groceries! read more
