It had been several years since I had been in this store, when I also had trouble finding a specific item. This store is located at Tatum and Thunderbird. They are open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily. According to the store website, store services include ordering delivery and pickup online as well as oven roasted chicken. While there are several days during the year with shortened hours, the only day that they are closed is Christmas. Smart & Final has been around for more than 152 years and offers fresh produce, quality meats and groceries, and thousands of club-sized items to fit every budget and need. There is no need for a membership fee. On the website (https://www.smartandfinal.com), there are promo codes for free delivery on your next three orders of $35 or more. The bulk section gives you everything from spices (You can buy just a little of something you don't use often.) and they had some interesting base mixes for things like gravy or hummus. I did pass by all the bulk candy. Even though they did it for me, I did carefully check out the Sanderson Farms chicken I usually buy elsewhere and their non-sale price was lower for the same brand and quality. I was looking a little lost and an employee did pop over to ask if I needed help. My cashier was fast and friendly. I'm not a fan of the self-bagging. It feels rushed when there is a long line and the bags are thin. I doubled most. They don't take credit cards. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, two days after their grand opening. As you'd expect, it was busy. I've been to several Sprouts in different states over the years. This one is the nicest one I've ever seen. Maybe it's the large windows. Maybe it's because their corporate offices are next door. Either way, a job well done. If you've never gone to Sprouts before, here's the scoop. Think of it as an upscale grocery store. Not as expensive as Whole Foods but more expensive than your run-of-the-mill grocery store. You'll find a focus on organic foods. Sprouts also isn't the type of place where you can find things you need outside of food like Target or Walmart. Outside of food, their selection is pretty limited. But if you're looking for produce, veggies, fruit, and food that is overall on the healthier side, Sprouts is a good choice. They have frozen food, snacks, and all that too. In Desert Ridge, you already have some established players like Albertson's and Target. It's nice to have Sprouts in the mix (previously, there was a small Sprouts Express in the neighborhood). Pro tip: download their app for discounts.

Unlike most grocery stores that place fruits and vegetables on the outer edges, Sprouts displays their beautiful and colorful produce right in the middle of their store. I think their bulk department is fun for all ages. You will find many different kinds of nuts, granola, coffee beans, rice, dried fruits, trail mixes, baking essentials, spices, chocolates and candy. The meat and seafood department was beautifully laid out. There were many meat and seafood options available. I love their sushi section, especially on Wednesdays when their sushi is $5!
