Food is top shelf. Ribs are tender as butter. The loaded fries are excellent.

(The cube kind) *Brussel Sprouts: nicely charred with a sweet, house bourbon sauce *Fries: kind of like skinny wedges? Good! *Burnt Ends: had the pork belly ones 10/10 *Mac Burrito: your choice of meat with Mac and cheese and queso? Yes please! Some of the best BBQ I've had in the state! Will definitely get again! If I recommend one thing it's the Burnt Ends!

A number of the reviews mention that the brisket was too dry. I think I now know why. Read on if…read moreyou prefer good, moist brisket... Note: This was our first time here. When the waitress arrives, she announces that they are out of "burnt ends". (This is made from the moist, marbled part of the brisket called the "point-cut", which in Texas is called "moist brisket" or "fatty brisket".) She said that they still had brisket sold by the pound, so I asked if they still had the point cut (because if they were out of burnt ends, then they might not have any point cut left -- I don't like and won't buy the lean, often dry "flat-cut" of the brisket). She said something about helping me with that when we order, and left us to look at the menus. When we ordered I again questioned about this, and she said they could give me brisket with fat on it. Me: No, this is not the same thing (see above). We discussed further, and she assured me that she could get me what I wanted, so I ordered a half pound of it, plus some ribs. When the meal comes, it's not the marbled, moist brisket -- it the lean, flat-cut, with a layer of fat on top. I asked a third time whether this was supposed to be the cut I described; do they have the point-cut? She said she would ask the chef. Comes back and says the chef says "yes", they do. At this point I'm beginning to doubt myself, in spite of what I see. So I drop the subject and let her get on her way. I try it. It's not bad, but it's not marbled and therefore a bit dry for my tastes. Should anyone get an overcooked slab of this, I can see how they would complain about it being too dry! The ribs were ok, but overcooked in my opinion, so the meat was not thick and moist. The sides were meh. -- a potato salad that was sweet, not enough mayo and mustard, and no eggs. So it was not "...how grandma made it..." as they advertise. Not my grandma. -- and a cole slaw that was equally unmemorable. My two lunch companions enjoyed their sandwiches, so it was not a total bust. The ambiance outside on the deck on a gorgeous day was perfect (covered but open deck, by the way). The service was very good, outside of the complete misunderstanding of the Texas BBQ that they claim to be serving. Not her fault; from the management and on-down, they probably have no idea. So all-in-all, I wouldn't go out of my way again to visit here; your mileage may vary.

They were doing a fair amount of to go orders though. We both had the 3 meat combo. I had brisket, saint louis style ribs and buffalo wings. This comes with 2 sides and cornbread. I opted to bbq baked beans and cheesy potatoes. My husband opted for dry (not tossed) wings and mac and cheese. It was also wing it Wednesday so wings were just $1.25 each. The wings were full wings and very meaty. The brisket was fall apart tender and the ribs had just the right amount of tenderness. Everything had good flavor. The cheesy potatoes were a little bland though. Our waitress was excellent! She checked on us often and was vey friendly. There was easily enough food for 2 meals. We would definitely go back again.

The sausage was sauce-less, not smoked, and undercooked. I cooked it later in some bbq sauce and improved it.

I especially loved the open kitchen concept...it was neat to watch them prepare the line-up of meats! I loved reading the "testament" in the entryway. The story of Jimmie and Iris was so sweet, and I appreciated how their legacy is carried throughout the restaurant, especially in the sauce lineup. I ordered the two-meat combo with ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. I paired them with "Dixie Red" which was my fav! For sides, the platter came with a cornbread muffin and it was so good I ended up ordering a second (Oops). It had what tasted like a butter or honey butter drizzle and YIKES it was dangerously good. The employees were super friendly and helpful. One in particular greeted every single person coming in and leaving. Loved that. You just don't see that kind of service as often anymore. The restaurant itself was very clean, with plenty of seating available. Fun fact, they also have a food truck, which gives me hope since the location isn't super close to home. Maybe I'll catch them around town, or even bring them in for one of the employee events I help lead!

We had gone to go chase waterfalls as the snow was melting and were craving bbq so we found this place in the area with decent reviews and decided to check it out. Underwhelming is the main word that comes to mind. Honestly, the ribs and rib tips were really greasy and it came out extremely fast. The rib tips weren't even that hot. And they were fried to a crisp.. not super edible. They were ok but not great. The ribs were decent, good flavor, not a ton of smoke and like I said, greasy. The smoked mac and cheese was disgusting. It tasted like it was days old (or at least the cheese was) and there wasn't any smoke flavor. The baked beans were ok but tasted like from a can. For it being a $82 order i just feel like it should have been way better. Front desk cashier was friendly enough but not super helpful. Wouldn't come back here but it served the purpose in the moment.

The dining room and the bathrooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The 3 ribs I had in my two meat combo were very good, meaty and tender. My smoked Mac and cheese side and my wife's cheesy mashed potatoes were ok. Now the not so good. The server couldn't crack a smile and clearly didn't want to be there. The brisket was tender but had little flavor; no bark or even smoke ring. My wife had the 2 meat combo with 1/4 chicken which was dry, and pulled pork that tasted overcooked and flavorless. The cornbread was also dry and crumbly. If we had only had the ribs, we probably would have given 4 stars. As it was I can't really recommend.

We strongly recommend that you go early lest you run the risk of finding your favorite meat or side already sold out! $88.45 purchased a full rack of ribs (membrane on), 1/2 lb. each of brisket (fatty end) and pulled pork, sides of coleslaw and mac 'n cheese, and 3 orders of hush puppies. The brisket is solid, with pronounced bark and a salt/pepper based flavor profile that is classic central Texas. The lightly seasoned ribs, which also call central Texas to mind, separated cleanly at the bite, and may be eaten by themselves or with a dollop of the house mustard sauce. The latter is one of 3 sauces that are straight out of the Carolinas, the others being Lexington and East Carolina. All 3 are excellent, but the mustard sauce rivals the best of South Carolina. We recommend that you use the pulled pork, which is fine on its own, as a platform to sample all 3 sauces. The 3 sides were also top-notch. The coleslaw is a clean, fresh bite that works well to cleanse the palate as you move from one meat to the next. The mac 'n cheese is excellent, and we became addicted to the hush puppies, which we would rate far and away the best in the state. We look forward to the whole hog and house made banana pudding on our next visit. Because service is vulnerable to bad weather, always check their facebook page before setting out to make sure that they will be opening.
