A shot of the building while waiting in my car.
    Jermaine S.

SUMMARY Good food for a good price, but call before you get there so you don't have to wait in the limited parking area. FOOD I got the pulled pork sandwich and my wife got the rib tips. The sauce they used was very tasty, and the pulled pork was very saucy. Do keep some napkins on hand since this will get messy; it's barbeque after all. One thing we did notice is that you may end up getting a lot of fat with your meat. While tasty, my sandwich felt like I was eating more fat than I would like. Even then, I still preferred the pull pork over Famous Dave's. Next time I'll have to try the ribs. If it tastes anything like the pulled pork then it will be good. SERVICE This isn't fast food. The few times I've been there it took about 15-20 minutes for the order to be ready, and this is with no one else there. This isn't a bad thing though, it's just better to order before hand if you are in a hurry. They are very friendly and even walked my food out to my car when I was waiting. AMBIANCE & PARKING They take your order at the window, and there is no indoor dining. There is a covered outdoor area where you can park, but it can only hold about 8 cars max. Also, the owner's car occupies one of these spots. It goes without saying that this isn't a place to sit and eat (not even outdoors). When you get there, it's best to drive around the building so that you can just drive out when leaving. They have a convenient sign to point you in the right direction, but you don't see the sign when approaching from the west.

Great ribs, friendly and helpful staff, reasonable prices. Carry-out joint with a small picnic table out front. Hands down some of the best ribs I've had in the Twin Cities. Half slab rib dinner was massive, came with fries, toast, and a tiny cup of coleslaw. Coleslaw was good, so were fries but would have gladly traded some of the fries for more coleslaw. Wish they had a little more variety for the sides, would love some potato salad or mac n' cheese. Definitely recommend this place, especially since this it's hard to find BBQ in this side of Minneapolis.

The view from Penn Ave. North - so you know what to look for.

This isn't your new and upcoming "gourmet" food stand...this is down home southern BBQ. A husband and wife own it - they make everything themselves: dry rub, BBQ sauce, coleslaw, sweet potato pie. Everything is good, not great - but different and yummy. They park their trailer on the north west corner of Penn and Golden Valley Rd - park either on Penn or in the same empty lot as the trailer itself. They sell limited items: Pork ribs, beef rib tips, chicken, fish or shrimp. Dinners come with fries and coleslaw. That's it. There are no tables and their hours are from Noon until 10PM. Final tip - everything is sold in even numbers - like $10, $5, yadda yadda - so bring cash.

The store is a little drive in setup. Yet it hide some of the best BBQ i have had. The guys behind the window are friendly and will gladly help you out with anything you are looking for. And unlike other places, the pictures of the food are actually what you will get. Decided on the pulled pork sandwich as it was just me today, yet they have full slabs of St. Louis style ribs for sale, will have to try that next for sure. The pulled pork was tasty and flavorful, the sauce was smokey and slightly sweet and very flavorful. The fires were crisp and seasoned, yet not dry, The Slaw was actually tasty, that statement means more then it seems, as i HATE slaw. Yet I looked down and found out i ate it all. Will defiantly be checking back in here as well

Rib tips, fries, coleslaw, and hot link.

Good food. I had the rib tips and hot links. My husband had the pull pork sandwich. It's a small place that seems to get rather busy (a stationary trailer). I'd recommend calling ahead if possible if going on the weekend.

Does not look like much. Like a drive in. Everything was fantastic!!! Priced are very reasonable. They would give Kansas City a run for their money.

If you like your ribs with a good smoke taste, taste so good you don't have to add sauce. This is not the place to go. Also a long wait.

The menu on the truck was updated with correct inventory and ordering was easy. Pro tip- there's a cash discount! I ordered a large pizza to go half cheese half pepperoni and was satisfied. I sampled 3 items from Mario's, an appetizer (Ciabatta Parm Bites), a small 8" pizza (Meat Eaters), and a dessert (Classic Cannoli). Every bite of my food was wonderful. And judging from the number of people lining up to get food, many other people agree with me. The employees at the brewery were also grabbing food and raving about Mario's. Yum! As a final note (to avoid confusion), this truck is NOT the same business as the bricks n' mortar restaurant in Watertown. The truck is an independent business that simply licensed the name from the restaurant several years ago. I had a nice conversation with the owner and he explained it to me. I don't hand out many 5 star reviews but Mario's deserves it. I highly recommend trying this truck if it's in your area. Thumbs up! -Maxx

Food 5/5: We are big BBQ fans, and I believe this is the best BBQ in the twin cities. We had the chips and queso, St. Louis style ribs, pork belly, mac and cheese, dilly beans, beans, apple pizza, peanut butter pie, and both old fashions. The chips are homemade and so good! Lightly salted and the perfect amount. Of crunchy. The ribs and pork belly were warm, tender, and spiced perfectly. Everything we had was well spiced, and overall high quality with exception to the Mac and cheese, not much flavor but would be perfect for a kids meal but didn't match their overall level of the other food. Service 5/5: they use a QR code ordering system. Everything we ordered came within 10 -20 minutes of ordering. Silverware and all other essentials are located at your table, but there were people around to ask if you needed anything. Ambiance 4/5: when this space is full it is very loud. If there is a band playing you won't be able to hear table conversation. Something else to note, you may share a table with another group, so if that's a deal breaker to you know that is their style. They have a kid space which was packed, but overall an amazing thing to offer. Overall if you're ok with a loud and crowded space, this place is great. Overall we loved this new location. The food was great, the service was fast, and the ambiance was inviting but loud.

I thought there was a good selection of local and national breweries. Adam H, Trevor H, Shelby M, and I were ready at the gates when they opened a few minutes before 2pm, and we did a good job hitting all the vendors we were interested in. I really liked how the bacon vendors were spread out this year - it helped keep the bacon lines manageable. That said, I do agree with others that for a fest that has bacon in the name, there really isn't that much bacon to be had. Adam H. and I knew this from last year, so we made sure to eat some lunch before attending. The lines were manageable and everyone could get their fill. It was also fun that there were a few special releases throughout the afternoon. There were several merchandise vendors that I mostly ignored, except for the MN lottery booth. I won a $5 scratch off and ended up up by $10! My only criticism is I wish there were more places to rinse out your glass and buy water. Overall, such a fun event!
