We loved Firebox! Great brisket and they served some lean some fatty and both were excellent. Really good pulled pork though just to note it was dryer than most maybe closer to chicken texture, but still lots of Smokey flavor and neither of us really minded. 1 barbecue sauce is usually a bad sign for me but it was a really great balance of sweet and a little heat. Collard greens, fries and toast were solid side dishes. Loved everything about this place except the prices which I'd say were a tad on the high side which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

FireBox St. Paul for the family's early Christmas celebration Pork Belly was nice and crispy, I prefer more meat than fat so this is perfect to me Firebox Feast w/ Spare ribs that are juicy, chicken wings with a great smoked skin, brisket that holds its moisture Service was great. They helped me check in, let me know if there was a wait time, and it was ready before I knew it Check them out! They have such a great layout in the interior

It's been a long time since I visited Firebox. In fact it was when they had a North Mpls location. We had a guys night out and ordered way too much. Steve didn't get my message that we ordered a feast and it's at the table... So he got even more. What did we get? The feast. Comes w wings, ribs and choice of pulled pork or brisket. We also got some tips. You get four sides so we did two collard greens and two Mac n cheese. They added some fries... Which is great. Noah got some hot sauce and super hot sauce. Which if you.ix w the barbecue sauce is excellent. It was all great and you have a big challenge finding a place to park. Otherwise it's great. The staff is super nice and family owned.

The food here is fantastic BBQ - we loved the brisket, ribs, and chicken wings and the sides were all great (sweet potatoes were our fav). We came with our extended family and food came fast, service was so friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the large servings. Definitely check this place out next time you're in St Paul as we'll definitely be back. There was plenty of seating inside and a few parking spots in the lot. Great ambiance as you order at the counter and your food comes so quick

Ribs are on fire here! The presentation had me drooling. Sticky rice and mamma sauce seals the deal! Cool staff, good service. Cool place. The stomach was too full, and I will be back to try the brisket and pull pork next.

Surprisingly great bbq I found in St. Paul, MN. I wasn't expecting it at all but this place is awesome! Ambiance - 4/5 - Solid place to sit and grab a quick bite. Plenty of seating area and it is self-serve for sauces and soda Price - 5/5: I thought the price was very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I got 2 meats, 2 sides for $24 and the portions were fantastic. Food - 4/5: I loved the brisket and highly recommend getting it. Their bbq sauce pairs so well with it and it super tender. I also got the rib tips but wasn't as big a fan of those as I was of the brisket (still good though). I thought the mac and cheese was solid and the potato salad as well. I'm definitely hoping to come back and try some of their other sides Service - 5/5: Quick, efficient, and didn't have to wait too long to get our food. Which was great because we were starving when we got there. I will definitely visit again when I'm in town

Ordered a 4 bone Rib combo ribs were extra skimpy/thin! Sides were great hot & fresh!

Ordered a four bone combo! Ribs were thin/skimpy. Sides fries & Mac n cheese was fresh & delicious! Call to complain about ribs - Firebox fixed the problem immediately. Undecided if I'll go back. Thanks

Find yourself in Minnesota and looking for some good BBQ?... there is no place like Firebox. They blend spices and seasonings together that give their brisket a delicious flavor profile cooked to utter perfection. A place you will indulge in as it magically takes you to a banquet of smoked goodness. Don't forget those sides either folks. This place is good... go hangry - you're welcome.

Excellent BBQ - 4 stars. GOOD: 1. First of all, the meats are very good. And that's the most important thing. 2. You can order meat by the pound (or half pound). That makes it easy to eat zero carbohydrate carnivore style since you aren't forced to buy plant based sides. 3. The employee who took my order was very friendly and patient (this was my first visit). NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: 1. There were no meat based sides. All plants??? It would be nice to have something like hot links, wings, beef tips, shrimp, maybe even calamari...or something like that as an animal based side. (I would have purchased at least 2 sides if that was a choice.) 2. My pulled pork was cool, verging on cold...not warm at all. That was a big buzz kill, especially since that was exactly half of my food for lunch. In addition, the order taker/server person forgot my beverage cup and she forgot my receipt (I asked for it). I always, always, always pay cash and I always like to take a pic of the receipt for Yelp. Not this time though. 3. The parking sucks!!! I'm not quite sure since the handicap spots aren't marked well (old paint) but I think there are 3 (possibly 4) off-street parking spots plus one handicap. Not cool at all. In addition, there's construction for many blocks and currently none on Marshall Avenue. I lucked out and I got one of the 2 off-street spots right at the front door. But I actually witnessed 2 arguments at 2 different times with 4 completely separate groups of FireBox customers (in the dinky little parking lot and driveway entrance) through the window while I was eating my lunch inside. They got out of their cars and looked like they might come to blows in both incidents. That was a bad look and a super ugly vibe - for sure. I'd definitely go back. The hits outnumbered the misses. And I have a feeling the glitches were flukes, not a common occurrence. Hopefully, the road construction will be over soon. -Maxx

Was on the lookout for some delicious Mac and I found it! Get here now! I got the beef brisket sandwich with fries and Mac and cheese. Holy moly so delicious! The mac is really creamy and the brisket is so tender! Service is rather quick and the staff is really friendly!

Glad we did. 5 stars just for the quality of the brisket. The thing that's amazing, if you cook brisket yourself, is the quality of the trim. A uniformly thin 1/8" layer of fat cap on every piece. No idea how they do it but it's exceptional, just at the right thickness to render properly. The brisket is top tier, maybe the second such brisket I've had in the area like it at a restaurant. Good strong smoke profile, rub is a little understated but good and uniform, everything properly rendered, plenty of gelatin and fat for moisture. Strange thing, the brisket was $25/lb which is more than reasonable for brisket of this quality, but the pork ribs and belly were the same price. I didn't try them so I can't say why the pork costs the same as the beef; I'm guessing there is a bigger demand for the pork from the SE Asian customer base. The hot sauce is not what I expected, quite vinegary and what I think were all red Thai peppers. To be honest I was expecting Kua Txob (Hmong pepper sauce) which would have been perfect with the meat. I'll just have to make it myself next time I find this place open. Mac & cheese was very good, nothing super praiseworthy but a good solid tasty home-style side dish. The fries were the least interesting thing we got, but still okay. Overall it's worth looking for and making the trek in the middle of the day, especially if you're a brisket snob/enthusiast.

Grab your beverage, pick your own spot, and they bring the food to your table. The meats are excellent. I grabbed a half pound of smoked sausage, a half pound of pastrami, and a half pound of beef brisket. My friends both ordered pork ribs. Everything was wonderful! Being a zero carb dude, I really appreciate that you can order meat by the pound (and the half pound). Thankfully, they don't force you to order plant based items. As zero carbohydrate carnivore eater, I didn't order any plant based sides whatsoever. But my friends got broccoli slaw and waffle corn bread (very clever) as sides. They loved their sides. Both of them topped things off with big Texas Brownies and a la mode French Vanilla Ice Cream. The brownies were giant and flavorful. They actually made the whole back dining area smell like chocolate. Finally, the service was excellent. The food came out fast & hot. Yelp reviewers have no taste. They just want a slab of meat and they're all happy. I should've tried their sauces before I bought anything. The barbecue sauces were all ketchup based. A good barbecue sauce has molasses, brown sugar, and tomato sauce not ketchup and white sugar which is what these were made from. I'd have been better off bringing in my own bottle of barbecue sauce from the grocery store. We ordered a half rack 6 ribs and two sides of coleslaw and potato salad. The coleslaw was runny and too liquidy. It had zero buttermilk in it. It was also made with apple cider vinegar which is a HUGE NO, NO. The potato salad was meh. No mustard. Just white potato salad. Ever since 2020, the climate surrounding the George Floyd Square has changed dramatically, and this establishment has become an even stronger integral part of the community as the square itself had represented how the community thrives with its people. A lot of respect for the establishment from that perspective. In terms of food, I would say the soul food, which contained mostly sides, were the main highlight for me. The mac & cheese was salty enough. The fries were solid in a "you can't really go wrong with it" type of way. The candied yams had enough sweetness. The collard greens could taste better but standards must be lower when they're not homemade. I also enjoyed the catfish fillets as they were fried to preserve enough hotness and softness. A lot of what they served, they made on the spot, which was what may be causing longer wait for some. Meat-wise, a lot of items could use further improvement because they were too dry, such as the smoked wings and the beef brisket. The wings were dry to the point that they condensed and got extremely salty. The brisket relied a lot on the sauce and the existing fat on the meat for juiciness while the meat itself didn't have a lot of flavor or juice. As for the ribs, they had some seasoning, and tasted just fine, and weren't as dry. But I have had ribs in Texan barbeque places before and knew what "seasoned" ribs were like and therefore concluded that the ribs here were not spectacular.
