    ' How did you find us?!?' A very friendly woman with unnatural hair color ,taking care of orders at this place, asked me. 'You emailed me the address...' was the response. The people at this moving establishment are a little happier than people, on thin air, normally are. The barbecue delivers, though. Maybe the best in the twin cities. The location is a bit strange. The Chris Farley skit about 'living in a van down by the river' applies to the location of this place.

    Full rack baby backs and smokey Mac and cheese.. super good!

    Meaty flavorful ribs..the smokey mac and cheese. Is creamy and delish...order early in the week, they sell out fast and I can see why!

    One of the better BBQ spots in the Twin Cities. A bit pricy. I had the beef brisket and beef ribs. Brisket was good. Wish it had a bit more balance on the fat to meat ratio, but all in all pretty good. Beef ribs were a bit tough.

    We in the mood for some BBQ and have Black Market was a location on our list. We had been on their email list for a while. They are only open on Friday's so be sure to place your order online to reserve your food. We ordered ribs, brisket and beef ribs. After our trip to Texas we have become huge fans of beef ribs. There are only a few spots to sit in the lot that their trailer is in so we decided to pick up our food and head home. When we arrived at our reserved time our food was packed up and ready for us. We picked up our food and headed home. When you have a craving for something like BBQ, you just can't wait to try it. We got home and unwrapped our food and dove in. I think the first sign was the smell. Usually with BBQ you pick up the smell of smoke. We really didn't notice that when we picked up our food or when we unwrapped it. Unfortunately our experience didn't improve from there. The brisket while it had a decent bark was dry. The beef rib also had good bark but the fat was not rendered enough making the meat chewy. The ribs were ok but lacked in flavor. They were tender but not very flavorful. I am one that believes the adage about pizza is generally true about BBQ. Even when it's bad, it's pretty good. Thankfully I still have not had a "bad" pizza and I haven't had any "bad" bbq. BBQ as it is, is much more challenging to make than pizza. This BBQ was OK. With so many factors (temp, cooking time, etc) that can affect BBQ, I could see us trying this again sometime.

    As I always say, you know it's good food when you get plastic water bottles, paper plates, and live music. Black Market StP is an entire vibe. The energy is immaculate. The owners are friendly AF. The music is perfect. The people are so chill. The food is to die for. Stop reading this review and go make a plan to get you some delicious Minnesotan BBQ fam! (5 star review because the water bottle was free and they gave me cookies)

    Black is a good decription of the food we recieved.... We were so excited to try this place and spent a decent chunk of change for a meal that was inedible. I knew immediately something was wrong when I opened the beans, they were so dark in color and EXTREMELY dry! They were terribly burned to the point the chunks of meat were harder than beef jerky and inedible. The brisket was about the same; the only thing that was edible was near the large amounts of fat. The outer edges of the meat were black and burned and chard not even chewable. The ribs were not burned, but way over cooked with an outside like jerky. I can't imagine what happened to our food. Those making it and serving it must not have looked at it before they sold it to us. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a barbecue place.

    A okay bbq. Bacon on a stick is stellar. Ribs are a bit dry, as is the pork shoulder. Mac and cheese is good. Overall a hit and a miss.

Glad we did. 5 stars just for the quality of the brisket. The thing that's amazing, if you cook brisket yourself, is the quality of the trim. A uniformly thin 1/8" layer of fat cap on every piece. No idea how they do it but it's exceptional, just at the right thickness to render properly. The brisket is top tier, maybe the second such brisket I've had in the area like it at a restaurant. Good strong smoke profile, rub is a little understated but good and uniform, everything properly rendered, plenty of gelatin and fat for moisture. Strange thing, the brisket was $25/lb which is more than reasonable for brisket of this quality, but the pork ribs and belly were the same price. I didn't try them so I can't say why the pork costs the same as the beef; I'm guessing there is a bigger demand for the pork from the SE Asian customer base. The hot sauce is not what I expected, quite vinegary and what I think were all red Thai peppers. To be honest I was expecting Kua Txob (Hmong pepper sauce) which would have been perfect with the meat. I'll just have to make it myself next time I find this place open. Mac & cheese was very good, nothing super praiseworthy but a good solid tasty home-style side dish. The fries were the least interesting thing we got, but still okay. Overall it's worth looking for and making the trek in the middle of the day, especially if you're a brisket snob/enthusiast.

Alary's (the bar that serves Petey's) validates parking for the ramp next door, which is great because parking is even worse than usual downtown right now. The menu list that as 4-5 ribs, Texas toast and 2 sides of your choice. We both received 5 ribs. I went with Mac n Cheese and Collard Greens. Let me focus on the star of the show - the RIBS! We've always enjoyed them but these were truly outstanding! Tender, meaty and a perfect kiss of smoke. Everything you hope a rib would deliver! The FireBox sauce was perfect as always and only boosted the experience. The sides were great as always. I ended up calling back to the restaurant and spoke to a staff member and share our feedback on how fantastic the ribs were tonight! I encourage everyone to give Firebox a first try and or a revisit.

The ribs were flavor-less. I would not go back again. It's a huge shame for a rib joint to be this bad. The ribs were such a huge disappointment. Not even a smoked flavor was ever detected.
