Walking inside the first thing I noticed was the lack of decor and warmth in this place. The pictures are hanging up spaced unevenly. The boards above the booths are not screwed into the wall. It honestly looks and feels tacky. There is a lack of decor and the lighting is too harsh. It feels like someone is moving out. Our server and the other employees, are the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. They were absolutely lovely and helped one another out. Our water glasses were filled multiple times and our server was very sweet. The food: we started with a beer and mojito. The beer was good. The Mojito was too strong and too sweet. It was really strange... Then we had the lobster bisque. It was very peppery and lacked flavor. There was only one piece of lobster and it had a strange after taste to it. The jerk chicken nachos were awesome is flavor but sooo greasy. See the pictures. I got the hot chicken and waffles. The texture of the chicken was great!! And the waffles were tasty! But these chicken tenders are very spicy and I could only get through half the meal. I would love if you could pick a non spicy version!! My boyfriend got a lobster roll and said it was good not great and the fries were pretty standard. We will not be back to this location. If you want to try this place, I would recommend the Bloomington location!

At that point, I knew I was in for a treat. Any dining establishment packed at non-peak dining times must be a local favorite. I got the Thursday special: meatloaf with BBQ glaze, mashed potatoes, and char grilled corn. Meatloaf is one of my comfort foods, and this one really delivered. It was cooked perfectly; moist on the inside, a nice sear on the outside, and tangy BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes and corn were pitch perfect too; I especially liked the char on the corn. The vibe is rustic casual, with ample large screen TVs for catching a sports game. Our server brought the wrong beer (light beer instead of Surly) , but made it right when we pointed it out. The acoustics were great; which is hard to find in populated places with a concrete floor. There is a parking lot. I'm already imagining a return visit next Thursday for more meatloaf!

The fries with the Hangover were not cooked through also (barely cooked/limp). This was on a Friday afternoon so they weren't terribly busy, just not sure what happened.

That being said I don't think there's any dish I'd come here specifically for, but I haven't had anything bad and that's a good sign right? Don't expect anything fancy at Jersey's by the way. This is a classic divey bar. The patio has gotten super nice over the last couple of years but other than that take it for what it is. You're not coming here for a fancy dinner with a host and fancy kitchen staff. You're coming here for a dive bar experience with consistent food and cheaper drinks. It's also a fun place for live shows on Saturday nights. I have a friend in a band that has done a few shows here. Sound isn't amazing but that makes sense with the acoustics of the venue. It really has the mid-level garage band vibe going for it, which I personally appreciate!

My boyfriend had the Big Kahuna! It was incredible! I highly suggest it! It stayed together really well even with all of the cream cheese! So good! And Cajun fries on the side. I had the carb buster salad. It was good but I think I would have preferred sliced steak over the burger on it. Bar atmosphere but not bad and not too busy during lunch on a Tuesday. This place was surprisingly way better than expected.

They also offer pull tabs, a weekend brunch, and have live music on occasion. The food selection has something for everyone, my personal favorite is the turkey club. I've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, which is why it's so frustrating to be writing this. A visit in May left me feeling disappointed -- not just because of the issue itself, but because of how it was handled. During that visit, the fly problem was overwhelming. It was difficult to enjoy the meal while constantly swatting flies away, and we even had to cover our food with napkins just to keep them off our plates. It felt unsanitary and uninviting. I understand that flies can be hard to manage in open-air spaces, but when they're this pervasive -- including in the lobby and the areas where food is being prepared -- it becomes a serious concern. In response to my feedback, I was told that "the kitchen is up to code and that the restaurant recently passed a health inspection". I don't doubt that's true, but it doesn't address the core issue I brought up. You can't fully control flies when windows and doors are left open -- but that also means you can't fully prevent hundreds of flies from entering spaces where food is being handled. That's a problem. I've thought about this a lot in the time since, and what ultimately pushed me to write this review is the complete lack of follow-up. No additional response, no real acknowledgment, and frankly, what felt like a lack of genuine care. My concerns didn't feel heard -- they felt dismissed. I truly want to continue supporting The BLVD, but unless this ongoing issue is taken seriously and addressed, I don't see myself returning. If customers are having to cover their food with napkins just to keep it fly-free, you'd hope the restaurant would offer some kind of resolution or incentive to maintain customer retention. Cleanliness and customer care should be a top priority -- and right now, neither one seems to be.
