    Big burrito

Great barbecue spot! I got the root beer float cocktail and it was fantastic. The big burrito was huge and had so much meat in it. (Crazy, but maybe too much meat). Very reasonably priced as well.

Friendly service Inside has a cool southern barbecue feel All the meat and the salad was delicious. Barbecue sauces are really good Prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place

I was really excited about finding another BBQ place that I hadn't known about before. Maybe I've just become too picky or maybe Sunday isn't the best time time to go but I was very disappointed. The ribs were warmish and dry and lacked the smoky flavor I was hoping for. The fries were outstanding but more ketchup would have been helpful. The place seem to copy Famous Dave's with a roll of paper towels and sauces on the table. For some reason the staff seemed unhappy and unfortunately it expressed itself as rudeness to us as customers. I'm sorry to say that I felt like our experience was a big dud.

A tray of meat! Pulled chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, and a small order of fries

Really great first experience. Stopped in with my family today after a visit to a nearby playground. We were so hungry, and the portions did not disappoint! The kiddos got cheeseburger sliders, and mac & cheese, and the hubby and I created a tray of meats. We had a quarter pound of the pulled chicken, a quarter pound of the beef brisket, and a half pound of the pulled pork. We also got their barbecue baked beans, which had a ton of chunks of meat in them (this was my absolute favorite part of the meal) and a side of fries with seasoned sour cream. The meats were all tasty, but the chicken was my favorite. Service was quick and friendly, we got our food fast, and the environment was casual and relaxed. There's a ton of seating, inside and outside. We will definitely be coming back and bringing my parents next time.

The Fat Back Mac & Cheese. YUM!!

OMG I'm in BBQ heaven and this is Minnesota! I was blown away when we drove up and I saw the size of the place and then couldn't believe my eyes when we walked past the BBQ pits, freaking huge. The interior makes you feel like your standing somewhere in Texas with an equally big outside area. It was a Friday night and the place was rocking the hostess told us 1.5 hours and we were happy to wait since they have a big bar and lots of craft beers on tap as well as a good variety craft cocktails. As we walked to the bar 4 people got up and we snagged so seats at the bar and were able to order dinner at the bar. Bonus! OK Let's talk food. It was off the hook. They have a huge variety of BBQ meats, sandwiches and with Tex Mex options. As soon as I sa the Fat Back Mac & Cheese I had to have it. It's chopped brisket, pulled pork and bacon to our House Made magic, then some bacon & a fried egg on top. The portion was more than I could eat and the flavor was perfect with juicy pulled pork & tender brisket. Can't wait to go back.

Big Bore Barbecue was beyond delicious for dinner tonight. The closest to genuine BBQ from Texas that I've found in MN! Everything was delicious from the ribs, to the cheese curds, to the brussel sprouts and the burnt ends. The service was beyond friendly and helpful with ordering and suggestions! The inside is a super fun vibe, open and lots of tables inside and outside. You gotta check this place out!!

    Pork Belly Burnt Ends

Could it be the best BBQ in Minnesota? In the little town of Hanover lies a hidden gem... But I think the secret is out because the place was packed. Great atmosphere, energy and casual family vibe. They have a great outdoor covered patio as well that really adds another amazing element. The smells guaranteed that no matter what you ordered it was going to to delicious. Order: Brussel sprouts with bacon. If all vegetables were prepared like this kids would never complain again. Crispy, smokey sweet and savory. A must order. Pork belly burnt ends. Just perfect texture contrast between the tender crispy pork and rendered fat that just melted in your mouth. Your choice of the three house BBQ sauces available on the table. Ask for a side of pickles to add a pop of vinegar and crunch to refresh your palate. Baked beans had all the flavors you were hoping for with little nuggets of brisket and pulled pork mixed in. Overall: This is a destination place that any BBQ fan or enthusiast would love.

Brisket was amazing, the hot link was tasty, the potato salad was way to sweet...

This place is amazing, from the outside to the inside this is something else! We had perfect service, our waitress was just amazing and the food was remarkably delicious! Only thing we didn't like was the potato salad, way to sweet and nothing crunchy in there, everything else was a pleasure

The interior was rustic and roomy. There was a fire going on outside in a fire pit. That added to the overall cold, Minnesota country vibe. I loved the bbq ribs. There was a nice crunchy exterior when I bit into the juicy ribs that gave it interesting texture. The beef brisket was on the dry side. The exterior could use more crunch and maybe coat it in peppercorn. They offered 3 different kinds of BBQ sauce. I mixed the first and second one for a perfect balance of sweet, tangy and spicy. Service was excellent. The bread the meal came with looked plain but was soft, buttery and thick, which I loved. The coleslaw was overdressed in my opinion. The sweet potato fries were good. Overall, I loved the ambiance, service and it was decently good BBQ for the area.

A place we've been wanting to go to for a while, since it is a drive from our home it has been difficult. The first time we went, we were in the area and tried to stop in but the wait time was insane, so we decided to postpone. The second time was more planned, we took the drive and the place was full but no wait time. We got seated right away. The food was delicious! The pickles were amazing. Prime rib was juicy and the right amount of food. The Brussels sprouts are a must. Didn't feel rushed at all even though it was full. Really enjoyed our time there and recommend 100%. Just be aware of there might be wait times sometimes

We've had the spot on our barbecue wish list for a while now, it's just a bit off the beaten path so we hadn't had a chance to go out this way. This last weekend we decided to go on a mini road trip because we kept hearing such great things and wanted to give it our own review. We came for lunch on a Sunday, the football games were on. The weather was beautiful. And the grill and smoker were doing their thing! It only took about 10 minutes before we were seated and the staff was so sweet and kind, can't say good enough things about the service we had. We ended up going with the beef rib special that includes two sides for $50. That sounds steep, but I promise you that the beef rib is so big you will be eating it for at least two meals! We also ordered some wing appetizers and for the sides we went with a combination of mac & cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, french fries, and potato salad. My husband said if we wanted to give it a true review we had to get all of the sides! now, her context we lived in Texas and we know good barbecue, and this by far is the closest we have ever gotten! These smoked wings were the best I've ever had! I don't typically like smoked wings because I don't really like when it falls off the bone, but these were really great Hardy wings that kept their form, had really incredible smoky flavor, and overall we're so crisp I would definitely come back just for the wings. The beef rib was also incredibly delicious, juicy, and even though it fell off the bone it was the best beef rib I've ever had. we will definitely be back and highly highly recommend this place to anyone who is a meat lover!

Love this place! Probably the best BBQ food I've ever had. Personally I gravitate towards their Tex-Mex offerings, with my favorite being their Meat and Mac burrito. The service is always friendly and efficient, although since they don't take reservations it can sometimes be a very long wait for a table. Their interior ambience is nice, feels a little bit like a Famous Dave's but better. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for some small town vibes with excellent flavor!

What's the best time/day to go? I've gone several times and couldn't get in due to long wait

I got there on a Saturday at 4:30pm. It was an hour wait. The food was OUTSTANDING! While I was waiting someone I knew was leaving and I chatted with them and asked what time they got there. They said they were there about 2:45pm and didn't have a… Read more

We had a grumpy toddler and a spill but the staff seemed completely unfazed and attentive. I didn't ask for more napkins but they appeared, I didn't ask for coloring books but they showed up, and when you're a mom a bit anxious about being out with your children an attentive and kind staff makes a huge difference between a good night and rough night. The food was great, the kids burgers were way larger than I expected, my French chicken (?) was delicious. The burger my husband ordered was certainly made from fresh ingredients, maybe a bit more bland than he expected but that's the only complaint and it won't stop us from coming back for a date night in the future. I also tried the Snickerdoodle holiday cocktail and loved it. To add even more sweet holiday cheer to this review the hostess let my boys pick from a selection of presents under their tree and when my 7 year old got a Barbie (not his style) she told him he could pick another. He got slime and I'm suffering the consequences but still grateful for the Christmas spirit and wonderful time the staff gave us!

Although it's a bit of a hike outside the city, still not too bad on a weekday and it was nice to get out and try something new! It seems like an up and coming area for Monticello and development nearby. We came right at 5 when the restaurant opens and got a seat in the high tops. NOTE! If you want to partake in the happy hour, you have to either sit at the bar or in the high top tables. We didn't know this and wanted their chicken wings on the happy hour menu so ended up switching tables. In addition to the wings, my husband ordered the corn bread app which was pretty good too! Wasn't a huge fan of the spicy butter it came with, but strange but the bread itself was good. The wings had a good seasoning and the house made ranch was really tasty! Surprised there were only wings and no drumsticks which I prefer and the wings themselves didn't have a whole ton of meat on them so I'd give it 3/5 on the apps I ordered the 12oz New York strip and at market price it was $62, came with broccolini and French fries. My husband got the turkey burger which he wasn't a huge fan of he said but he enjoyed the fries. My New York strip wasn't seasoned well - if at all to be honest but thankfully they had some leftover A1 from Mother's Day brunch where the bartender made some bloody Mary's so that helped. Can't say the food was a knockout but the service was really good. The bartender who was our server was conversational, great dude, and offered great suggestions. Host and folks were also really accommodating when we hopped around the restaurant so we could participate in the HH. All in all, great experience and nice place to try!

I tell them we have an online order before anything else she says " we have not received the order yet". Now I will say we did get a little upset because they had not even received the order much less started to work on it. The women and man behind the counter begins to get super upset almost to the point of yelling telling us they don't have the order ready as it just got here and how we shouldn't expect it to be ready.
