I had an appt yesterday to have my windshield replaced. Guy shows up & I go back inside my house. 10 mins later he calls me & says, I need you to come out here i need to show you something. Well this can't be good & it wasn't! The windshield they put on the truck has a deep scratch in it. So, I say to the guy, don't they check/inspect all the windshields be fore putting them in the truck? He didn't know what to say. You want to talk about being livid about this, well, it totally screwed me up & my day! Now I have to call the insurance co & like a new claim bc I'll be using a different glass service! I would NEVER use Safelite again!! Thanks a lot for wasting my time & causing me stress & aggravation bc of your negligence! read more

They do not stand behind their lifetime warranty! I got my windshield replaced by them in 2021 and recently my windshield cracked. There is a barely even noticeable spot where an aquarium sized pebble, at most, hit it and they're saying that is what caused it to crack. If the glass was well made, something like that wouldn't have happened. Poor quality materials and not backing their warranty, they have lost my business and I will continue to warn others of their poor business standards. read more

I cracked the windshield of my new Honda Accord months ago and was directed by my insurer to bring it to Safelite for replacement. Apparently, the windshield is on backorder, which I suppose is not Safelite's fault (but it has been MANY months, so what's up with that?). My beef is that Safelite offers ZERO customer support. I've called the office multiple times and each time the representative told me to expect a call back from a technician. I have not yet once received a call back and don't think I ever will. I'm trying to find an alternative repair facility. read more

This is the worst autoglass replacement place in the area. Stay away unless you're okay with going there 4 times. I initially went there for a repair of a small crack because my insurance covers repairs. They claimed it wasn't repairable and needed to be replaced. I didn't agree, but also didn't argue about it, so set up an appointment to come back. Came back and was offered a scratched up windshield or to come back again. Not wanting a damaged windshield I set up another appointment to come back. Was told we'll start on it right when it gets here. Came back again and they started working on other vehicles of the same model before mine. If this wasn't my 3rd time here and they didn't say we'd get to it when I got there I wouldn't have cared. Show up 5 hours later and, surprise ,surprise. It wasn't done. Once they finished their road test/ calibration I checked the windshield and noticed a scratch on the passenger side. After stating I have no interest in paying to have damaged components installed on my car, their initial solution was to have me pay them and come back a 4th time. The managers solution (after much back and forth) was make me wait another week then install another windshield and pay them once it was done. After leaving I called my insurance company and they "allowed" me to go to another safelite. That one got it done in an hour and a half. The only reason I went here is because that's where my insurance sent me. If you have the option to go anywhere else, go anywhere else. If I could have stayed with my normal auto glass company I would have. The people at this (Reading) safelite have no idea what they're doing. read more

Safelite damaged the collision avoidance camera when installing my windshield. They denied any responsibility and it cost me $1550 out of pocket to have it repaired. I have filed a claim for the damages done and am waiting to hear what will be done...... never got back to me and the dealer called them to discuss the issue. They called back, left the name of Mike their manager, but didn't (wouldn't) stand by their work of offer to pay for the repair. THOROUGHLY disgusted, Next time use B&G glass for your repairs, stay away from Safelite. read more

I needed a new windshield. I'm only a week out from having mine replaced at Safelite but all seems good. Windshield is solid, installer was professional. he explained that installation took a bit longer due to the age of my Honda Odyssey. No worries, I wanted it done right. Dropped it off the day before for an 8 appt. It was done by 10. As is common with many companies these days, contact is handled through a website. This is efficient. Most contingencies are accounted for including pausing progress, changing an appointment, applying coupons, etc. ( make sure you take advantage of searching for a coupon online, or pause and wait for a follow up email that offers a discount a week or two after first contact) If you would like to talk to the shop before you go, that takes some doing. Finding a local phone number can be challenging but it can be done. read more

The Safelite technician did a house call to repair my windshield and drove on the edge of my driveway and yard to get to a parking pad on my property damaging the driveway with his heavy vehicle in the process. I tried to amicably resolve the issue of property damage with Safelite but they will not take responsibility saying they never before had a report of their vehicles damaging someone's driveway. They wanted me to provide "before" pictures of the section of driveway prior to the technician causing the damage, which of course I don't have because I wasn't expecting him to drive on the edge and off the driveway. I was told it was my fault because I didn't tell them to note in advance not to drive off the edge of my driveway. If they needed to get on my driveway to make the repair, which they didn't, they could have asked me to move the car in the driveway. Now I am on the hook for repairing the damage they caused. read more

I'll start at the beginning. My insurance Co, suggested Safelite for a cracked windshield. At my scheduled appointment, I sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes before being told that the replacement windshield was also cracked. So, I was given a second appointment to come back after they receive another replacement. Went there again, waited. They completed the job. The next day, I realized my windshield washers were not working! I tried to give them the benefit of doubt. Made sure the washer fluid was full...still no windshield washers. Had to return again so they could fix their mistake and correctly connect the windshield washers. About 2 weeks later, I was washing the car, had the hood open and found a roll of painter's tape...the exact same tape they used to tape around my inspection stickers after they were cut out of the windshield. I don't know what could have happened, if anything, if I hadn't found this but let this be a warning, Safelite NOT safe. Leaving a roll of paper tape under the hood of my car, NOT SAFE. Giving my car back to me with no washers, NOT SAFE. read more

Service Tech arrived at my location on time; wanted to sell upgrade to new windshield which I declined. Damage from stone was repaired. The repair made the windshield a little better but the damaged area is still very noticeable. I realize that the repair results won't be perfect so I wasn't expecting it to be. Just wondering if the repair process went as expected. Thankfully the damaged area is not in right in my field-of-vision. Hope the repair holds up and the windshield doesn't crack. read more

I spent $300. Dollars to fix my windshield. I get there to pick up my car and neither of the front doors will open. I tell the manager. He comes out and precedes to tell me my doors were like that when I brought it in How did I get out of the car when I left it there in the first place?! He continued to blame me and say that I was trying to scam them. He said he was very upset that I was trying to blame his installers for this! Really! Are you kidding me?! I took it immediately to a reputable national auto body buisness. He immediately told me they pushed in the fenders when they replaced the windshield. He said they probably didn't even realize they did it. I find that hard to believe. This is all they do every day! I'm so angry and frustrated that a national company that I thought had a reputable brand name could treat me like a few thugs in an alley that I made a deal with. I wouldn't mind so much if they came clean and said they screwed up. Instead they called me a liar and said I was trying to scam them. I had the windshield on my Toyota Sienna replaced about a week ago. I got to the service area at 1:50 for a 2pm appointment. My Toyota was taken into the garage bay immediately and the work was done very efficiently. I had paid, gotten the keys and was pulling out of the lot by 3pm. What an awesome job!! read more

Sometimes people make the mistake of not reading bad reviews of a vendor when there are only 1 or 2 bad reviews. Don't make that mistake. Make sure you read this one. Very poor customer service. They were scheduled to replace my windshield at my home. They called me to let me know I had to come into their shop due to rain scheduled for that day. I drove to the shop and they informed me that they ordered the wrong windshield. The clerk at the counter told me I told them the wrong model of the car. I knew he was lying because I had called the 800 number and gave them the make, model and serial number. He insisted that I had given them the wrong make and model of car. So I let it go and they scheduled me for another appointment. The only appointment they could give me was for 2 days later. This was a huge inconvenience since I already took a day off from work for the first appointment. When I arrived to get the windshield replaced they told me because I was 25 minutes late for my appointment and that this was I acceptable. They were not able to help me and I would have to schedule for the following week. The one guy was sitting at the front desk reading a magazine. 2 bays were empty and the workers were sitting around eating Doritos. So, no thank you. I would actually rather pay a few dollars more and get it done the right way at the dealership. I could only imagine the poor quality of their work if the customer service is this bad. Do yourself a favor and try the dealer since most glass replacement is done through insurance anyway. Save your self the headaches that these schleps will give you. read more

very very expensive costs more to get three chips half assed repaired than a Novus windshield

The first time they came out, they got the car ready for install then noticed on the new windshield that it was scuffed. So it was disappointing not to get the install that day as I was going on a trip and really needed the new windshield. I'm unsure why this isn't checked before they leave the shop as it's wasted customer time and costs them money too. I cannot comment on how the actual install went because I had it done at a garage while my car was being worked on by my mechanic and I wasn't there. I can only say that to date it does not leak. I also found a razor blade under the hood of my car and it wasn't from my mechanic as they were putting rear shocks on the car, no need to open the hood. Also a week later my camera cover fell off my windshield so that was disconcerting as it was not put back on right obviously. I wasn't even going to review the company but since this is the 3rd email from them asking for one I figured I will respond. Also the bottom of the receipt says exterior windows were cleaned and car vacuumed. I don't care about the other windows on my car but the windshield was not totally clean and the car wasn't vacuumed but I prefer no one but me vacuum it so that really isn't a big deal at all. Just weird it was noted on the bottom of the receipt. I do want to reiterate that the scheduling was convenient and can be done very quickly, which is good. and they use a good brand of glass as well. read more
