My insurance company recommended Safelite after one of my windows was smashed in by a vandal. The…read morewoman I spoke to when setting up my appointment was pleasant, respectful, and efficient. She offered me a next-day appointment but when that didn't work for my schedule she helped me find a weekend appointment. When I arrived for my appointment the manager at the front desk was polite and prompt. It was discovered pretty quickly that I had accidentally told the appointment representative the wrong model for my car (I recently switched from a Sonic to a Spark and accidentally told them it was a Sonic) and that they didn't have the correct window in the shop. I thought that would mean another few days of waiting to have my window repaired, but the manager was able to call the warehouse and have the correct window brought in within a few hours. I had my window repaired and my car returned by that afternoon. The only criticism I have is that I think they could have done a more thorough job of vacuuming out the glass from my car. I asked the manager if they would be vacuuming the interior of my car in addition to inside of the window, and he said yes. I told him this was important to me given that I transport small children regularly for work; however when I got home there was still a lot of glass on the seats and floor and I had to borrow a shop vac to clean it up. Otherwise I had a great experience with Safelite in York, PA.

I've been dealing with safelite for the past two weeks trying to get this sorted out. I took my car…read morein for a simple chip repair. The technician did not complete the repair correctly. I called Safelite again to have them come look at the chip, and their mobile tech confirmed that the repair was not done correctly and the windshield needed replaced. I need to stress here: the technician said that the reason my windshield needs replaced is because the repair was not done correctly. So I tried to get in touch with safelite for days. Their mechanicsburg location where I had my work done never answers the phone. Finally I got in touch with Debbie at Harrisburg. Debbie offered a refund, which I accepted. However, after not seeing the refund hit my account for several days, I called Safelite to check the status of the refund. This time, Debbie and her manager Talleen both were short tempered and hostile on the phone. Now they were telling me that they would not offer a refund, but would credit the balance towards a windshield replacement. Because of their attitudes and the fact that I couldn't get ahold of the shop when I needed them, I no longer wished to have my work done at Safelite. I was told I'd receive a call from their manager, Matt. After not hearing from Matt for several more days, I called the Carlisle store to see if they could help me. Zach kindly put me in touch with Matt. However Matt has not been helpful. Matt Dructor has repeatedly hidden behind his "warranty" which he claims means he only needs to credit the cost of the chip repair towards a full windshield replacement. This, in my opinion, is a horrible and crooked business design. If your shop does faulty work, lacks clear and open channels for communication, and speaks disrespectfully to customers, you should admit your faults and refund the customer's money. Safelite is a bazillion dollar organization. Refunding the $225 for my botched chip repair wouldn't hurt them a bit. But instead, Matt and his supervisor Todd Smith ignore requests from customers and treat people with disrespect. Greed is an ugly thing. Just blows my mind that the manager of a national chain like this could be so hard up for cash that he needs to screw people over to make his benchmarks. Anyway I got my windshield repaired at my dealership and I've filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General's Consumer Complaints office. Also I wish I'd looked this up beforehand but Safelite is not BBB accredited.

I was told by Tony that they'd take good care of my truck and fix it. After carefully looking it over I'm starting to see little details that weren't taking care of or not fixed properly. My headlight bracket has a crack (it's a new unit that was replaced by them), the front driver panel has a bigger gap then the front passenger, the truck is covered in dust inside, the whole driver side is missing the striping, and the truck pulls to the left which is an alignment issue that I requested they check since it was a head on collision and after the alignment was off. I'm not sure how it passed the final inspection, or who approved it. The craftsmanship seems to be subpar seeing as the details of the job were missed. I put full faith and trust into YCS to "FIX" my truck and I get it back like this. I know sometimes small details get missed, but this just seems like sloppy work and no attention to detail. Over all I'm disappointed in the work. Edit** They gave me a loaner truck until the work was corrected and completed, which took about 2 weeks. I did my own final inspection to find a plastic pry tool under my hood, even after asking that they ensure nothing is missed they still found a way to leave me a little surprise that could've messed my engine up. I'm assuming quality assurance is not their forte, even after they had to fix mistakes that shouldn't have been missed in the first place.
