Called on a thursday to have my windshield replaced. Soonest available was monday. Tech came out to the house to do the replacement. 3 hours later he continues to have problems with the install. took the car to the shop leaving no vechicle at my house. Unable to complete the install as there was a problem with how the bracket was made. they left the camera and associated parts in my glove box. The car is displaying a multitude of errors because of this. Thier solution is to wait 2 weeks to order a new bracket/glass and try again at my inconvience. Saftlite replaced my windshield, and suggested a new cabin air filter, to which I agreed. Now, my A/C blower is making a noise. Instead of calling the store (they have no number) I'm forced to schedule warranty service online and take another half day from work to fix a problem they created. They should stick to glass repair. i has a tiny chip repaired less than a year ago. i visit the website to inquire about my past service, and warranties that they keep advertising. The website is a dead end road block website, leads you NOWHERE! Every number on the website is a dead end, it hangs up on you after telling you to visit the dead end website. My first experience many years ago (86th St location) I had no issues when I had my front windshield repaired. Until recently this year when the back windshield of my car shattered - while driving :( That was a stressful moment in itself. That day I made an appointment online to go into the shop. They were able to get it fixed within a couple of hours of my appointment time. No issues until I used my trunk a couple of weeks from when it was repaired. First, there were random pieces of glass that was not cleaned out of the trunk. Secondly, there was shattered glass inside the trunk door panel - you could hear it moving around when it opened/closed. Third issue I had was that the trunk door started having issues with staying properly closed. It was not latching and locking properly - this was noticed when going to the airport with 2 suitcases in the trunk. I had to turn back home and use a family member's car because the dashboard notification kept beeping and blinking saying that the "trunk gate" is open - so yes, we had to drive it back with the door not properly shut. (I basically was driving my car with a trunk door that kept popping open until I was able to get it fixed from the dealership). I wasn't able to contact them until I came back from the work trip I was traveling for. I went back in for them to take a look at what was going on - they were able to get the glass out from the trunk panel but I was still having issues with the trunk not closing and latching properly. I had also noticed that the molding was not installed properly - they ended up replacing the windshield and the molding was still not installed properly. They pulled out the molding and said they would order me a new one - which they never called me back for. After all this, I was still having issues so the third time around they came to my house to take a look at it. The technician did find more glass inside the lock/latching system and was able to get it cleaned out. By this time the latch/locking system had already been damaged and there was not much else they could do about it. The entire process from talking with my insurance and Safelite Customer Service to the local shop was time consuming. Trying to get a hold of the manager of the local shop was an ordeal as well - customer service sent the manager an email requesting that he call me and I never heard anything until the front desk associate in the shop had to reach him on his cell where he called me after hours so that he could get a technician to schedule an appointment for the technician to come out (on that third time). And like I said before, they still have not called me for the molding part that they claimed they ordered from the manufacturer. I would not recommend this location for repairs. read more

Had appointment between noon and 5. At 4:30, I got a message the technician would be here at 2 - 2.5 hours earlier. When I checked the website, it said the technician was scheduled between 2 and 2:30. At 5 tried to check again, and was told their hours are 8 to 5 and to call back between those hours!!! Making an appointment & dropping off is fine but I was contacted halfway to be aware of the replacement windshield cracking too, so they would need a new one. Okay... When that windshield got installed, it ended up being too small for the vehicle and my wipers ended up messing up the paint on my A pillar because the wipers did not have enough glass to complete the swipe. Moved across the country driving through hail with a new cracked windshield and faulty wipers, thankfully Safelite in the west knows what they're doing. Please do not shop here. read more

A rock hit my windshield while driving on the freeway. I was able to get an appointment that fit my needs in the afternoon. It was a fill in and not a whole windshield replacement. The safe lite guy gave me a call in the morning to ask if he could swing by earlier in the day since he was in the area. It worked for me, so of course! Understandable since gas is SO expensive. The repair was easy and short, and better than other ding windshield fixes I've had in the past. No dirt permanently incrusted in the fix. I'm happy with the customer service and end product. Haha, sure did. While that's always an unfortunate incident, Safelite made it quick and easy. I set up an appointment on their website and they were able to get me in day-of. I also liked that you submit your insurance online beforehand so you can make sure that it's accepted. We parked out front and before we even made it to the door, a nice staff member came out and welcomed us and started working on our car right away. We led us into the waiting room where they had a coffee station, TV playing, chairs, and a fridge of water bottles to take for free. We found that thoughtful of them to provide that for waiting customers. Their team got the rock out and applied a sort of glue to the small crack to ensure that it wouldn't grow bigger and ruin the windshield. It was quick and easy. Thank you... again! read more

My appointment and replacement were great. The first rock that hit my widshield four months later chipped it and within moments left an 8" crack. I am wishing I replaced it at the dealership. The old windshield took about one hit a month for 6 years before it cracked. Seems like less durable glass. Their online chat pretty much told me I was on my own. I will tell you buying it twice from Safelite will be more than buying from the dealer. I don't know that I would buy there again. read more

There are some things you can't avoid no matter how cautious of a person you are. Rocks hitting your window on the highway is one of them. I cringe every time one hits my window and this time I got GOT. I was on my way to work and BAM, my morning was already ruined. Soon as I got to my office I looked up Safelite. I chose them first because I knew a friend of mine used them last year. It was a rainy day so I was going to see if someone could come out to me. Nope, nobody was available till 5 days later, and I knew my dime sized crack would probably expand in that time frame. So I checked to see what time they had available for me to go to them and to my surprise I could get in as quick as 45 mins later. I hopped out of my chair so fast and made my way to the shop. I was greeted by everybody and didn't even have to say my name. They were ready and waiting for me to sign my waiver and take my keys. They directed me to the waiting room where there was a TV, cold and hot beverages and a few snacks. I waited probably about 30 mins before the technician came to get me and he took me to have a look at the finished product before paying. The crack still shows (which they told me in advance that it would) which sucks, but it's been repaired. I even felt across the mark and it was nice and smooth. I'm also glad that it was very affordable. I hope to never have to come back, but if I do have any future issues, I know who to call. i have never had such a cheerful bunch of people help me at anything car related. everyone was super nice, and in a business like this, i think it's just as important as the quality itself. the girl who checked me in was super kind, when jason called on the phone he sounded so excited to talk to me, and the man who checked me out was so nice. i didn't stress at all leaving my car with them. they finished super early but didn't rush me in to pick it up (impressive but not unrealistic, we love). they asked about saving any of my stickers and i told them not to worry, but they made sure to save my oil change sticker for me (: and when the website to pay ahead of time didn't work, they were not bothered at all that i had to pay in person! hopefully im not back soon lol but i will be recommending here to any people who need a windshield fixed! read more

Similar story to those who have had a rock hit their wings windshield only to find out by the time I noticed the chip, it was not fixable by a small patch up. Safelite got me in the next day and the employees were very courteous and professional. So while I was there I found out my van has to be "extra" and actually a special factoty grade tinted area made for the windshield rearview mirror apparatus. Luckily they had this one in stock too, and of course it cost more, but they were able to find me an extra discount online to apply to the cost! Anything helps so I definitely appreciated that! I called Safelite to replace my cracked windshield that was spreading rather quickly. I phoned for an appointment at my home and Joy was very nice and informative. It was going to be a week before they could repair my windshield. Joy gave me the address to the Safelite office, their phone number, the date, the dispatch number and hours the technician would arrive which was between Noon and 5 p.m on 4/7. Communication was excellent as Safelite texted me confirming date and time immediately after I scheduled, a reminder the day before with date and time, when service started with the pre-authorization and out-of- pocket due and texted once again when the service was complete. I was always in the loop and information was always at my fingertips. When Iziah, the Technician, arrived he introduced himself and confirmed the service we requested. He arrived in a Safelite vehicle between the scheduled hours noted. He answered the questions my husband had and began work quickly. He was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and completed the job in a little over an hour. As stated earlier, I received a text receipt with all the pertinent information concerning the service completed. Before leaving he instructed us not to remove tape on windshield for a minimum of one hour. Tools were loaded and Iziah was on to his next job. I can easily give Safelite 5 stars for the excellent communication, the friendly and knowledgeable technician that completed the windshield replacement and how smoothly this process was from beginning to end. You get what you pay for, I instantly regretted using this shop right away on my drive home after getting a windshield replaced today. The trim along the bottom of my windshield came loose while driving, was pretty sketchy. I got home and noticed the mounting tabs and push pins were forcibly ripped out by their installer. When I examined closer, the weather stripping was also extremely half assed. This place is cheap because they cut corners, I would advise against coming here. read more

Had a cracked Class C motorhome windshield and called Safelite to find out about a replacement. Person on the phone was very courteous and friendly and helped me work with my insurance company to schedule a repair. At the repair center 86th street the receptionist was very friendly and helpful getting the paperwork filled out and the repair technician was informative about the replacement process. Had tech come to my house to replace the windshield that cracked from rock hitting it. The installation looks fine but there was glass shards left in the drivers seat that my wife sat on. The glass was not there before the windshield was removed. I fine it unprofessional not to vacuum the seat or any fallen glass from the removal. you did charge me for disposal of the glass. My back passenger wundow was broken into in May. in June, after fighting with Safelite to order the OEM window, the technician came to my house. He was kind and I had no issues with him in particular. However, it appeared he had never worked on my brand of car (Volvo) and was uncertain and seemingly uncomfortable finishing the work. He stated he could not get the window to reprogram (it would auto roll down, but not auto roll up). After he had left, when we went to use the door there was a rattle. Into the dealership I go, at the direction of technician because the window needed to be programmed (and now because there was a rattle). It was not a programming issue, and the technician had not vacuumed out the broken glass from my door. Not only was there a rattle, but every time I opened the door, glass fell out the bottom, causing a hazard for both my vehicle and my children. Because I used Safelite, my door was no longer under warranty and my dealership suggested I call Safelite to have them finish the job. And they refuse to return my calls. I went to the dealership at the end of July. Yesterday, 9/20/2023, I paid almost $1000 to have my dealership fix Safelite's lack of ability to do their job and to take accountability for their work. Luckily, my insurance will cover their mistake, as they suggested the use of Safelite from the start. But never again will I use their company. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed in the lack of accountability for their poor execution of what should have been a really simple job. read more

I had scheduled an appointment to have my windshield replaced at the Indianapolis 86th Street store. Safelite then called me to cancel my appointment due to not having the parts in. I had to reschedule work twice. On the way to my new appointment. I encountered construction traffic. I was 15 minutes late to my 230 appointment due to the construction. After taking off work, they told me they could not take me due to me being late. This appointment was not at the end of the day and there was no grace. Given at all. I usually run very much on time and this was something very unexpected. I am very upset that they could not take my car in 15 minutes after the appointment. My experience with Safelite AutoGlass was terrific. Better than expected. I had a massive crack all the way across my windshield, and luckily my insurance covered it 100% (did you know they do that??). I had to take my car in to the Safelite shop as opposed to them coming to fix it on location due to the camera connected to my windshield. It took a little longer than it normally would have because of that, but my expectations were managed perfectly. They told me it would be a 2-hour process, and it was, down to the minute. The staff were friendly, attentive and gave me thorough instructions when I left (no car wash for 48 hours, etc). I would recommend them, and I'll give them my business again! read more
