I had a very positive one-time experience with this company. I called on a Monday afternoon to get an appointment to fill a crack in my windshield. They offered Wednesday as the soonest date, but that day didn't work for me, so they offered the following day as the next available date. My insurance company gave me a 4 hour window (8-12 on Thursday), and the technician from Safelite called me right around 8 AM on the day of the appointment to narrow the window by 2 hours (10-12). Awesome. Kudos to the communication between Geico and Safelite. My tech called me when he was about 15 minutes away, then again when he arrived. The whole process only took about 10 minutes. While there is still a crack in my windshield, the hole left by whatever hit me is now filled so I shouldn't experience any leaks. read more

Extremely disappointed with our experience at Safelite. We paid $450 out of pocket to have a window replaced after getting a chip, no insurance involved, yet the technician broke the window regulator during installation and management refuses to admit fault. In fact, the response from the Safelite team when we informed them about the regulator malfunctioning, immediately following the repair, was that the regular motor is considered a wear and-tear-part, that we unfortunately are just experiencing very bad luck, and coincidentally, Safelite also provides window regulator replacements for only a few more hundred dollars. Instead of addressing the issue, they've been dodging us and now tell us they filed a claim through our insurance (which we never used). In addition to the damaged regulator, the door panel was left partially disconnected from the frame, with a large gap. It's still unknown if this is due to the technician(s) lack of attention to proper procedure during the repair and subsequent inspection, not having the knowledge and skills to properly finish the job, or worse, damaged the panel/panel clips during install and did not mention it. This is completely dishonest and unacceptable. We're left with a broken regulator, a driver-side window stuck halfway open, and no accountability. One Star - Disappointing Service and Zero Accountability Scheduling with Safelite was easy, but everything after that has been a nightmare. They sent me a work order that was supposedly good to go, only to later say it was wrong and now I'd need to pay more--despite the fact that my insurance had already approved it. I contacted my insurance company, and they confirmed that Safelite needs to correct their mistake. Still, no one at Safelite will take responsibility, and I've gotten nowhere with their customer service, which has been completely unhelpful and borderline indifferent. Update: I recently had electrical issues with our Volvo. Bottom line is it ended up being a faulty wiring harness that feed the windshield sensor area. Took my car in for a chip repair. The chip was there, it's the size of a pea they took my car back within 5 minutes. They brought it back with a crack that was about 20 inches long. Had they told me there was a possibility of my windshield cracking, I would have not did the service I would have took my chances and replaced my window at a later date if it ever cracked now they're telling me, I need to pay sixteen hundred dollars to replace my windshield i called the district manager left. Took 2023 Kia Sportage in for windshield replacement . During installation (roughly 4-4-25), they broke my rearview mirror. Was told they would order part and fix it. Three phones calls from ME (not one call from Safellite) and a month later I was told they ordered the part. No one had ever place part order previously. Got a random message from Safellite on 5/7/25 to show up for appointment at 4pm to fix the broken mirror. I called on 5/7/25 to ask how long the appointment would take 20-45 minutes is what I was told. At 3 pm (hour before said appointment), I received text from Safellite that the part still had not arrived and would arrive in the next 2 days. I paid cash for the windshield of $994 and for them to cause damage and take there time to fix it is ridiculous. Extremely disappointed as an agent that refers alot of business to Safellite. Spent the last hour trying to get somebody on the phone and to schedule and appointment for warranty work and keep getting hung up on or transferred. I had my sunroof repaired a week ago. Repair guy could not recalibrate and asked me to contact Volvo for recalibration rather than doing so himself. I then called customer service number and was told someone would call me back to take care of this issue. It's been a week and no one has called me yet. Install glass that was too small and has a clear edge original black to hide frame and windshield bonding material, damage paint on the frame of windshield. Came up with excuse instead of solutions. Told me to accept because it will be like this on every after market windshield. Plus no mention I was not getting OEM, insurance was expecting OEM Safelite pocketing money most likely. They need to find a new glass vendor. Refused to give me the quality control manger name and information. Save yourself from headache and find another glass fitter. 10-6-2025 9-30-2025- appt at Safelite, Okemos, MI @ 9a to have the front windshield replaced, (nothing wrong with it, but the molding around the window cracked apart in a car wash) on my 1997 Econoline van. Safelite would not just replace the molding. The entire windshield had to be replaced. I made an appt on 8-27-2025; for Sept 30, 2025. The Technician promptly took the van back to the shop @ 9am. I waited until approx. 10:20a. I asked Megan (Receptionist) how much longer? She said it would probably be another 1/2 hour. So my husband and I went across the street. At 10:21a, I rec'd these text messages, back to back, see Attached photos. 1 and 2 I then received a call from the technician the Van was done. Attached photo 3. 10-1-2025- Upon my initial inspection, I did not notice the crack in the passenger side windshield Cowl from the screw before I left Safelite shop. There were black plastic pieces all over the floor inside the van. I cleaned them up. There were also white dust spots on the dash(?) At home, looking at the front of the van, I found a big broken piece of black plastic on the bottom of the grill in front of the engine. Attached photo 4. Inspecting the windshield further, I discovered the passenger side Cowl was cracked latterly on both sides of the screw. I immediately called Safelite and spoke to Mgr Lori. We made a warranty appt for Oct 6, 2025. 10-6-2025- Mgr Lori Inspected the cracked Cowl. She called Technician Tyler, he came to inspect. He said, "It looks like the screw was tightened too tight". I said, "that's what I thought." Lori stated they had pre and post inspection photos and she was going to review them. Lori found the crack in the PRE and POST inspection photos. She first said, "the cowl was only cracked partly up to the screw on PRE inspection photo. Then after the cowl was put on, it looks like it cracked all the way." Lori showed me the photos! She stated the PRE inspection photos were taken at 10:20a, and the POST were taken at 10:40a. I said, "do you hear what you said? The photos were taken 10 minutes apart? I waited over 90 minutes for the windshield replacement! Why was I here over 90 min. if the repair took just 10 minutes?" Lori said, "they must not have started on time." I said I watched them take the van back at 9a. Lori then said, "we had trouble downloading the pre inspection photos!" The time stamp on both sets were 10:20a and later! Lori first stated she was going to make it right. When I questioned her about the validity of the photos and wanted her Supervisor's number, she retracted. Lori stated she would send the information to her supervisor, Tyler Fallis. I requested his phone number and she stated "we only communicate through email." I called the office after I left and left a message w/ Meghan, asking Lori to forward the pre and post photos to me. I never received a return call or copy of photos. 10-7-2025- Lori phoned and said she had sent the information to Supv Tyler Fallis and he denied the warranty request to replace the cowl. I asked for a copy of the photos and Lori said, "There is no way to send them." I said, "you have my email address, you can copy and paste them into an email. She repeated there is no way to send them. I feel that if Safelite didn't have anything to HIDE - out of decency, curtesy, and Professionalism, the technician could have noted or TOLD me the cowl was already cracked! IF IT WAS cracked. Which I believe it was NOT. I would like the cowl replaced (per Safelite warranty). The invoice had $100 Warranty work written on it, with a -0- balance. Safelite did NOT do any warranty work on my van. The receptionist (Elle) wanted to take a message, Lori Kehres was not available, so I asked for her voicemail. Elle said I don't know if she has vm! I then gave her the message (above). And asked who they were licensed through and she did not know. She would check. Another woman came on the phone and immediately started yelling and questioning me about an invoice I was charged $100 for Warranty work! I said, "I DID NOT SAY THAT! Asked whom I was speaking to?" She said Lori. I wanted to know why I rec'd this invoice for supposed warranty work of $100 and -0- balance? The invoice states work was completed @ 2:31p. I was not at Safelite at that time and did not cancel my Oct 6, 2025 appointment. She wanted to know why I was calling and what difference it makes what time her invoices say? I said I wanted to know who they were licensed through and she said "they are not licensed, they are a corporation based out of Columbus Ohio. It is a franchise! She questioned me why I needed this information? I said, "I told you I was writing a complaint to the AGs office about their business practices. She hung up! read more

They did call and 11:00 am told me they would be here by 2:30 pm, 2:45 drove pasted my house to do another job. We paid out of pocket for a windshield replacement, we set it up online, the website gave us the option of regular, standard, or premium. We chose premium as there was not a big difference in the regular (with wipers), and premium (with wipers and rain shield) plans. I then looked online for a promo code to help with the cost as it was almost $500. Then (ONE) technician came out and replaced the windshield, my son asked about the wipers and rain shield, and was told that was not on the work order. I emailed a complaint, received a response the next day, a call from CORPORATE, then she added the SHOP to the call. I was told from CORPORATE that there was nothing they could do to rectify it unless we paid an additional $110 for it. The SHOP employee then changed it to well sometimes when the wipers are not in stock the premium then drops to regular. I then asked where did the additional $200 charge come from and she said well you had T-Tops so it took an additional tech, as it was a two person job and that is where the extra labor came from, and they had the audacity to tell me, "we still allowed the $80 discount". It was not a safelite discount, it was a promo that I found online from another coupon retailer. They are shady and deceptive and claim they have no control over what the website does. Both of these employees were rude and condescending when speaking to me. I will definitely not ever recommend them ever and will be sure to let my friends and family know as well. Went to make a purchase thru online portal spoke with a chat person was having issues using code given by satellite thru email. They told me it would not come off until you paid in full interesting part I kept getting and error code not valid on the promo code area chat person basically said nothing can be done about it without paying first. If your going to email something please and I mean please make sure it works. It was my first time using satellite but after this experience it was surely my last now. We have used Safelite several times over the years and have been totally satisfied with the service, but this experience has wiped away any confidence we have in your company. Let's look at the timeline here and all the missed opportunities to fix this problem. Sunday at approximately 15:00 my wife is struck by a rock on I 20 near Thornton Rd exit, leaving a penetrating hole almost an inch in diameter and spraying glass chards into her vehicle directly in front of her. Safelite is contacted and an appointment to replace the glass is made for Tuesday afternoon. This went as expected and I am satisfied with our experience. Tuesday the Safelite technician showed up within the appointed time to install the new windshield, at that time the Safelite technician discovered the glass had significant scratches in it and asked my wife if she wanted it installed. She responded no at which time the technician explained that a new windshield would not be available until Thursday, she explained to the technician that she needed to return to Myrtle Beach South Carolina, a six-hour drive, on Thursday. The technician told her she could drive the car back to SC and have the work rescheduled there. Questions are, why wasn't the windshield inspected (a QC check performed) before delivering it to the customer; and the suggestion of driving a vehicle with a 1" penetrating hole in the windshield at interstate speeds with the possibility of rain/thunderstorms. The lack of prior inspection to me seems incompetent and the suggestion to drive the vehicle seem irresponsible at best. Georgia Highway Patrol would issue a ticket for driving vehicle a windshield in that condition, would you recommend someone you care about driving it? read more

When the technician never arrived, I attempted to reach out with the number provided only to get the run around with AI answering the phone. They used to be a wonderful service, but I would deduct 10 stars if possible. I attempted several times to find another phone number to call noting that this business has become like many others, they only want you to contact them online now because apparently they don't want to pay enough people to answer the phone. When I first scheduled the appointment, I made it VERY clear that I needed someone to arrive and finish before and appointment I had scheduled. So when I finally did get a hold of a very rude human being on the other line, I was first asked if I had responded to the text, which as you can see doesn't ask for a response. We had our windshield replaced on Monday, October 21, 2024. Our technician, Demetrius, was from the Pasadena, Texas location. He couldn't get the windshield recalibrated properly, and told us to contact the service department to schedule to get it done. I was told that the recalibration was taken off of my total, and that we have to take our truck to the dealership to have it calibrated. The dealer informed us that we did not have a Ford windshield put on, and that we would have to get the windshield replaced with a Ford windshield, and that our cost would be $1,200.00! I've had two appointments schedule and still do not have my windshield repaired. My first appointment no one called or showed on 4/30/22. My second appointment which was again between 1-5 the technician called at 4pm to advised he'd be to my home at 5:30. I've spent hours waiting for an appointment that seems impossible to happen. I called customer service who advised me they could save me $20 if I came in person. I was clearly aware of the options available; in person or remote. I choose the remote option and was more than happy to pay the additional $19.99 because it was the must convenient option for me...so you saving me $20 is not the response I was looking for. The material to repair my windshield is $8, labor is over $100 and with the remote fee making my total $168 and you can't keep an appointment is frustrating. Thank you for nothing. Update: as of 5/3 4pm i did call customer service and as you can see in my comment above was advised to come in which is not what I wanted to do. In Dec2024 I had the Muncie In. shop diagnose a noise in my passenger window. I was told the regulator was bad and told to purchase one since it was not in their system. Bought a new regulator and gave it, STILL in the box. Next day I received a text saying they shattered my glass when they overtightened a bolt. First the Manager, Todd appeared sympathetic but the excusses followed. They tried to charge me for the broken window, were dishonest claiming they had ordered the window and finally that I should take the car to VW because it took "special tools to install the glass. VW informed they had ordered an after market glass of the wrong size, breaking the regulator trying to force the glass. Safelite had innitiallyagreed to pay VW for the repair but is now refusing claiming the regulator I bought was defective, This was never mentioned before they got the VW bill. read more

They came out about a month or 2 ago to replace the molding , BUT it was the molding that went around the WHOLE WINDSHIELD. uggg, I have neve received a phone call or an email to my personal or work email. I have never received a phone call or voicemail/text from them like they tell the Customer service people. I am not a happy customer. Had my windshield recently replaced on my Porsche and my wiper assembly was installed incorrectly by the technician and caused my wiper motor to burn out. I have been given the runaround constantly by the manager in Waterbury CT and finally received an answer stating that it will take at least 3 weeks before anything can be done. This is a serious safety issue. I cannot drive to work or anywhere and 3 weeks is outrageous! This company is horrible and needs to be shut down if this is standard procedure after damaging a vehicle. Never using Safelite again and plan on sueing for the damages and loss of work due to not being able to even drive in the rain. read more

If you are not going to have a phone number for corporate headquarters, then a person has no other option than to do a public review. Safelite has been a nightmare. They have sent me all over (from FL to TN) with promises that the next place will have the glass I need. No one does their job in any location I've been too. It seems the warehouse inventory is never updated, there are no phones manned by individual businesses (which would have save me hundred of miles of driving) and you can only talk with customer care who also can only go by warehouse inventory. It's been 2 weeks now since my window cracked, I'm driving around with an inferior glass they put in (of their own admission) and a vehicle that can't be recalibrated....and no one at safelite cares! read more
