Had a chip in my truck windshield and pulled up to ask what it would cost to fix it. I didn't have an appointment but Caleb, the manager, looked at the damage, provided as estimate and told me to come right in and he'd fix it. He did a stunning job, the chip is almost invisible, but more importantly, it won't spread so I have to get a new windshield. He offered to vacuum the car and wash all windows, but I passed. At my request he inspected why my window washer spigots which weren't functioning, and recommended I take the truck to the dealer to fix a hole in the tubing. Awesome! He also showed us our old windshield wipers and recommended we replace them in a couple of months, but I opted to change them right then. The office was clean and pleasant and I had to laugh at the one reviewer who gave the business a lower rating because they thought it needed "a thorough deep cleaning..." lol....... read more

Stinks, no way to talk with customer service via phone. frustrating and wastes my time

From day one when I met Nathan, my entire experience has been a breeze! I needed a windshield replacement on my 2022 Kia Sportage. Nathan actually filed the claim through my insurance himself and was so helpful and informative! I got my appointment within a week and I was the first one in. My entire service took about two hours. Shannon worked on my vehicle, and he was absolutely wonderful! Not only is the windshield good as new, but they also tidied up my car! Which they really didn't have to do. But honestly, they may have done that because all of my stuff really was everywhere. Thank you so much for your wonderful service. I'm so glad that Safelite works with my insurance. 2nd windshield replacement with 2 different Honda CRVs at the Bozeman store. Both replacements were sub-standard. The first was 3 1/2 years ago, and resulted in bent and ill-fitting trim around both sides of the windshield and up on to the top. I brought it back 2x to them and they screwed around with the trim, bending it here and there, but it still looked like crap. They blamed it on Honda's "difficult to work-with trim" ! ... I traded that Honda for a 2023. Today, I brought that CRV Hybrid in for a windshield. This time they tore a Honda-specific rubber trim piece and would not do anything to replace it but instead wanted to "trim it with a razor blade so you wouldn't notice" the error. I asked them to replace the part they damaged, but the manager would not accept responsibility... I'm not sure what the issue is with the Bozeman store? I suppose finding and keeping employees is a challenge, but their work is not acceptable quality! Also, the shop is filthy with parts and tools/supplies scattered everywhere! This store isn't good, and whatever you can do to take your car elsewhere for glass, the better off you'll be. read more

I have had multiple positive experiences at the Bozeman Safelite! Two different windshields in old trucks that require a gasket kit. This means the technician has to have experience in placing this windshield and it is often very challenging. The guys at Safelite always met the challenge with kindness and a smile. Recently I had a rock chip fixed and the new manager got me in even a 1/2 hr early! The chip is so much better! This office also has coffee, two tvs, a nice waiting room, and a public bathroom. After having a windshield replaced, the first rain was like a waterfall coming into the interior of the vehicle along the entire top of the windshield. It was so bad that my daughter had to pull over and wait for the rain to ease up, as she couldn't safely see through the windshield. I reached out to Safelite and after several minutes of explaining the situation, an appointment was made to assess; what I would call a negligent install at best. At the appointment, the manager said the leak would not be covered under their warranty but, they would warranty a small chip in the windshield. Their attempt to repair the chip resulted in an 18-inch crack and they claimed there was nothing more they could do. They were rude and condescending after the worst possible customer service experience I have ever had. I ended up having the windshield replaced by an independent business. They provided pictures, while pouring soap-water on the top edge of the windshield and blowing air from the inside of the vehicle. The amount of bubbles streaming down the windshield indicated almost no seal on the top edge, being one of the worst they have seen. In closing, I paid to have the windshield replaced and would advise avoiding the Bozeman Safelite unless you enjoy wasting your hard-earned money! This is the most frustrating automated BS phone system of all time. Don't even try to talk to a live person, they simply won't let you. Calling for an appointment, to check inventory, or to get a quote? First, spend 5 minutes arguing with a robot. Then, no matter what your selection is, they'll try to text you a link to the website to complete your request. If you say "no I don't want the link" as if speaking to a human is the other option, the robot will hang up on you. 0/5 will never use an automated system for a company that doesn't care enough about you to talk to you. read more

NEVER going to Safelite in Bozeman again. I have a chip in my windshield with legs and wanted to get it filled before winter so that it doesn't crack across the entire windshield. I went in to make an appointment and to have them take a look at it to see if it was even fixable. I was told that I did need to get it fixed and to go ahead and schedule an appointment while I was there. A few week later I went in for my appointment and had a INCREDIBLY rude woman tell me it was too small and they couldn't fix it. (Why wasn't this said to me the first time I came in?! I live an hour outside of town, what a waste of my time.) I then went to another glass repair place across town... they were super nice and ended up telling me that my windshield DID need to be fixed and they got me in right away! My fiance had an appointment right after me and said that woman was also extremely rude to him as well. read more

I was called the day before my appointment asking me to bring in my vehicle an hour early. I did this just to be surprised by an email and text 2.5 hours later stating service was starting. I ride share for my job currently and was beyond disappointed that they wasted so much of my earning potential. I called and was told they would bring it up to the manager which they did. They took off the recycle fee and apologized. I was further disappointed by finding all kinds of debris from the installation on my dash. I even found a small glass shard. I had my windshield replaced at Safelite twice. After the first windshield my front cowling started to come up but I did not catch it right away. A few months later I get another cracked windshield from the highway so I return to them to have it replaced. After this replacement my front cowling was raised so bad you could see the clips that go under the window showing. Long story short I had to come back to them 5 TIMES AND THEY STILL DIDNT FIX IT! I was told EVERY story under the sun why that cowling wouldn't lay flat. They even took out the windshield, put it back In and couldn't get it right. Their manager actually said I should glue it tape it down! Finally my insurance sent an adjuster out to look at what was going on. Turns out they didn't even put the windshield on correctly which was why the front cowling wouldn't lay flat. They left tar fingerprints on my interior, glass all over the dash, scratched my dash, and ruined my side pillar. The adjuster said it was the worst glass replacement he'd seen and a crappy job over all. The way I was treated by the idiots who manage and work at Bozeman Safelite was ridiculous. They acted like I was the issue because they couldn't do THEIR JOBS CORRECTLY and treated me like I was dumb because I'm a woman. This was a new car they messed up. I don't think expecting one's vehicle back with the job done right is asking too much. I also don't think it's too much to ask for people to respect someone else's property and NOT ruin things. We pay A LOT for vehicles and you shouldn't have to worry that a repair place will damage your vehicle and not care. We will NEVER return to Safelite and I HIGHLY recommend to anyone to not go there either if you want your window replaced correctly. In the end I was approved to take my car somewhere else to fix their crap job. We went to ANDYS GLASS in Belgrade and they did an AMAZING job and guess what... my front cowling is laying flat, my windshield is straight, they fixed my pillar and touched up my paint here to was chipped from Safelites screw up. Please do NOT GO TO SAFELITE. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere that cares and does do a good job. read more

Made an online appointment on Sunday after my windshield was severely damaged on the interstate. Was able to get a 2:30 pm appt for Tuesday. At 9:00 am on Tuesday I received a call that the truck broke down that was delivering my glass and would not arrive for a couple days and the next appointment available was NEXT Monday! I was from out of state and spending just 4 days in Bozeman. I will be heading home on Thursday so not OK. It sounded a bit like my dog ate my homework kind of excuse. I was so angry I had to hang up after I said it was NOT OK. Just so you know, I did a web search and came up with another auto glass installer SPEEDY GLASS. And the i was told a bunch of disclaimers re how it wont look great, could expand during the repair, etc. Sounded like 'get the out of towner day' to me. Just had a terrible chip repair done. It looks like they tried to just fill the chip with a blob of superglue. It is an extremely visible smudge now. When I went back to see what could be done they offered me nothing but to replace the windshield at my own expense! Oh, they would credit me the cost of the crappy repair though. I had a window replaced by Safelite last year. I don't drive the vehicle much so it was a while before I noticed several things done incorrectly or just poor customer service. It took quite a while to even to get an appointment to get them to replace the window and the day and time it was scheduled was changed due to a driver taking the vehicle with my replacement window out of town in error. Then, thr broken glass from the old window was not cleaned out of the window well, so when ever the lift gate was opened, glass rattled around, the defroster on the rear window was not reconnected after the new window installed, so when winter came I had do defroster. Now on closer inspection, it doesn't even look like the correct window was used, as there is a gap on one side where it doesn't seal properly. Very disappointed in the quality of the service, especially for a company that charges what they do for the service provided. Expected much more, but received much less. I just wanted to leave an extra excellent review for Safelite. They came to my home in April to fix my broken windshield and did a fantastic job. They replaced my wiper blades-- I elected for the standard blades which was a mistake. The blades were very squeaky. I returned to Safelite in June complaining about the blades. John G. attended immediately to the blades and upgraded them with no hassle. I will definitely use Safelite again! read more

Ruined my car. Put wrong windshield in wipers wouldn't work because sensors couldn't detect.... Both left and right inside cloth panels ruined with grease and left in shreds. They had to order replacements which took months. Outside left and right windshield panels over windshield both blew off on highway driving. Dealer said clips were never put back in... Called in to try to get an appointment for a chipped windshield, they were super busy. Oh by the way it seemed to be a national or regional call center dispatching service. Don't expect to speak to the actual local shop. So tried to get in for an appointment and they were super busy, I was going to just book a week out anyways until the girl told me the price. These folks are literally twice the price of two other shops we contacted. The rep asked why we weren't going to make an appointment after all, to which I replied price and wait. In all fairness she did try to give us a little discount and suggested on site service. I guess they can come to you for an additional thirty bucks or so. Which is a handy service no doubt, however they are still twice the cost of other local service and slower. Went five minutes down seventh and got it fixed on the spot at HALF THE PRICE! The name of this great business you ask SPEEDY GLASS. Give them a call and check prices compared to Safelite, I dare you. read more

Tech was a little scattered. Broke the first window he was replacing. Showed up the next day with a new window which was nice prompt service. My complaint is that he didn't put the rubber grommets in place around wiper and washer fluid holes in back window and just stuck the washer fluid tube through the hole not even hooking it up. Called on a Monday to request a quote for a new rear windshield. They DID have the best price in town, and like all the other glass places, wouldn't get the glass in until later in the week. We were told someone would be by our house between 12 and 4 on Friday, but that someone would call and confirm the time. We emphasized that we were supposed to be on the road that Friday by 8, and requested as early in possible in the day. "No problem!" Friday comes and we get the confirmation phone call. They say 4 p.m. That's 8 hours after we need to hit the road, but what can we do? We take it, again emphasizing the need to hit the road. It's a long trip, and we can't exactly miss a funeral. 4 p.m. comes and goes. No call. At 5 we give up and leave. 5:20 we get a call asking why we're not home. We respond that nobody bothered to show up at said time nor call us about it. Given that we already had the glass special ordered for this, we decided to try an in shop repair. Maybe the shop is a little more on their game, right? They couldn't get us in until the next Friday at 9 a.m. We were told several times over that it was a 90 minute repair. Friday comes and we drop the car off and come back 2 hours later. Not done. At 11:15 a vehicle other than ours gets pulled into the shop behind mine. I look through the window and my car sits without any glass in it and no workers around it. However, the vehicle that had just been pulled in has a crew all over it. Our 90 minute window took 4 and a half hours. Twice, they failed to do what they say they'd do in the time they said they'd do it. Pay a few bucks extra and go elsewhere. Safelite already replaced 2 windshields on my truck and today I noticed another crack, so now I'm on my THIRD REPLACEMENT. The Safelite tech that did the work caused damage to my rearview mirror which is attached to the windshield. It had to be removed and glued back on but soon after I was driving, the mirror fell off due to inadequate application of adhesive. Additionally, the tech used vice grips on my antennae which stripped the paint off of it. I believe Safelite uses inferior glass and inferior installers. I believe they take advantage of insurance companies who offer full glass coverage and they cause major inconvenience to the consumer. I have driven thousands of miles without any windshield problems until Safelite installed the replacements. read more

Where do I begin...? How about the weird rubbery glob on my passenger seat that is nice and cured. Or perhaps it's the broken tabs, loose trim and missing hardware on the trim pieces around the windshield. They must have started on the passenger side. Cause that side a tab is broken, but the nut is there. On the drivers side, the tab is cracked but intact, BUT THE NUT IS MISSING ALL TOGETHER! Thanks for the quality work, enjoy fixing it. I was preparing this to sell, and a potential buyer is the one that actually noticed it all. It's cool... I knew I should have gone to Glass Doctor on 7th. But, for the first time they didn't have the windshield I needed in stock. Lesson learned am I right?!?! read more

I called Safelite expecting to make an appointment for next week. The person I talked to was very personable and friendly. He took extra time with me to joke around. I wished I would have remembered his name because he deserves kudos! He asked if I wanted to get it done today and I said sure. He said do you want to get it done now? They had an opening in ten minutes so he said he would let me go so I could make it my appointment. My rear door window was completely shattered after some heavy wind. I went online and found it incredibly easy to use Safelite's website to order a new window and schedule a time for technicians to come out and replace it. It was so simple I said out loud "this is too good to be true." And it was. The day of my appointment (which i specifically had set for the afternoon) I got a call at 8am saying that they had my window ready and were going to my house. I said I wasn't home or prepared for them (because that's not when I scheduled it) but they said they were coming anyways...... at least someone was at my house to move my car inside and clear a space for them to work. When I got back to my house, the technicians had already been working on my car for 1.5 hours. I went down to check on things, and found too very young guys that looked rather incompetent. I tried to put away my judgments and give them the benefit of the doubt. This is their job right? I asked how it was going, and one answered with "welllll, we're kinda struggling, haha" (very professional). At this point, the other one is on the phone asking how to get the door panel off. They have spent 1.5 hours and accomplished absolutely nothing, and are JUST THEN calling for help. Rather than saying something rude and demeaning, I just left them to it. After ANOTHER 1.5 hours they were finished and left. When I went to the garage, I was pleasantly surprised to find glass strewn all about and around boxes that were over 5 feet from the car. Their dirty work gloves were sitting on some of my belongings off to the side, there were gasket pieces on the floor. There was glass in my car still, even on the seats. Mind you, I paid an extra fee for them to clean up. And when the car was pulled in the garage there was no glass on the floor at all. So I basically paid them to spread glass all over the place and leave trash on the floor and on my stuff. Also, the door that needed the window replaced will now not open or even unlock (and it is scratched up on the outside). It was unlocked when they started, so why they even touched the lock buttons is beyond me. According to the regional manager that I spoke with, they aren't supposed to try the locks because the broken glass can cause damage. Well, they did try the locks, and it did do some damage. I now have to drive my car TO Safelite, to have someone with a brain try to fix everything. I had paid a fee for them to come to my house, because I am busy. Now I'm taking time out of my day to take my car in, and have to get a ride from someone, who is also busy. After taking my car in 2 separate times, and getting rides home from other people and borrowing cars...the regional manager was able to get my door working again, but the electrical function no longer works. This isn't the end of the world, but it's been working since I bought the car years ago and I now have to remember to manually lock that one door every time I shut the car. It was explained to me over and over again that there is essentially no proof that the door worked before. And that the glass could have done the damage regardless. Although I fully understand that, I think I have some ground to be skeptical when the technicians clearly had no clue what they were doing. AND they locked the door when they weren't supposed to, for the exact reason that doing so could cause damage. In the end, I did not have to pay for this, but even that took multiple phone calls and some arguing. And I now have something wrong with my car that happened on their watch. And I wasted hours and hours of my time. I would have much rather just paid and had it done quickly and correctly. Here's my conclusion: I would never use the Bozeman Safelite again, because it is clear that their standards for hiring are extremely low. Not only did the technicians not know how to replace the window.... they apparently don't know how to use a vacuum either. The regional manager, Rich, did try to fix my door and did try to keep my happy. He gets 4 stars (not 5, because he was a little sassy with me on the phone). Unfortunately, he isn't the one normally working there, so that doesn't really help the review. I guess I would use Safelite again if I can personally request that Rich is the one to do the window. Otherwise..... STAY AWAY. You'd be better off watching a youtube video and giving it a try yourself! read more
