Call it unfortunate, but I had to meet Mike, the office manager one early Friday morning just as…read morethey opened. My car had started to leak coolant, and I was concerned as I was visiting family away from home. I got there before they opened, and Mike came out and picked up the mail from their mailbox where I introduced myself as being away from home - and a long way to go with a leaking car. "I can't guarantee anything, since the parts may take me three days to have sent in, and I can't put you before my other 8am approintments. But if you can wait, and they don't show up, I'll move you in and have it looked at. No promises... but we can look at it... maybe." "Maybe" was me driving away at 10:30 in the same morning, after a postponed 8am arrival, two cups of coffee, and a quick diagnosis with a new water pump installed with a replacement belt. So Mike did get a cancellation, slipped me in, told and showed me that I needed a new belt (the old one was glazed, shreaded, and ready to fall apart), and had them delivered into the shop in short order. They even went as far as to check their work by running the car for a bit to make sure the thermostat opened up, and everything was good and tight. They even replaced the coolant, and washed off the spillage that had dripped on the engine and frame. I left Mike with a good contribution to their "Donut Fund." If they read this, please have a jelly one on me guys. Because Mike and you all are a great team. I could tell by the way you treated each customer while I waited in their waiting room. (Which had toys for the kids, lots of memorabilia, and good strong coffee for when the news isn't the best and you have to wait longer than I did. Bottom Line: They earned their Golden Reader's "Best of the Valley" Award for 2014 from the Times. Their gshop is busy, they do inspections, and I was very pleased to have met Mike, the shop owner.

With…read moremanufacturers shutting down during covid, it was rough finding a nice Honda with no accidents and a price that I could afford with the mileage I was looking for. I had a horrible experience with another dealership and started looking at other dealerships. That's where McElwain came into play! I was still pretty injured, so I couldn't come in until a few days later, but Tim made me feel at ease. He originally took my call about the Honda I saw online, and when I asked if it had a clean title, he not only texted me the answer, but a picture of the report. I planned on coming in the next day, but due to a change in plans, I was able to come that same day. He answered every text and informed me that he would tell me if the car had been sold, so we wouldn't drive up to find out then. He also let me know the policy on used cars due to how quickly they're moving right now- something that the guy at the other dealership never cared to do. As you can tell by now, I had a bitter taste in my mouth from my previous experience and expected every salesman to be the same. Tim was not. He went above and beyond, and every single person that we encountered was extremely friendly and eager to help. Tim was finishing up with another customer, so another guy pulled the car around. I didn't catch his name, but he was extremely friendly! Once Tim finished up, we took a test drive and all talked on the ride. Not once did I feel pressured into buying. Tim was so personable and laid back, and I got really good vibes from the business and atmosphere which made me purchase me awesome new Honda that day! He was straight forward with pricing and negotiation and it was such a painless process. Matt, the finance guy, was also super friendly and made the paperwork a breeze. He was so welcoming and never pressured me to purchase anything additional. I really appreciate that! For the first time in two weeks following my accident, I finally felt content. I miss my old civic like crazy, but I am so happy with how my experience went that I know I made the best choice by purchasing my car from McElwain. I drove away tonight no longer being afraid to drive and look forward to making great new memories in my new Honda.
