Good service, went in to get my windshield replaced and it was done quickly and well, no issues after.

Was given a 5 hour window on Saturday 4/25. Tech never showed up, no one called, no text messages. Called back on 4/27. Was told tach would;d show up on Tuesday, 4/28 - same 5 hour window. No one showed up, again no text, no phone call. There is more, I was told they cannot calibrate car warning system at home and I would have drive to store (Safelite ads all say they can calibrate at customer premises). I believe this was the Queensbury, NY location. I gave up and called a locally owned company and the new windshield was installed and cameras calibrated. My back window was broken - when they went to replace the new one - the technician told me after the fact - that the window shattered fully and fell between my door panel - what a mess, then he told me he tried vacuuming the best he could, still a week later I still have glass on my seats and floor - not happy at all with thos company- he said it may be easier to take it to a dealer and have them remove the door panel - why should I- when he did the problem ????? read more

Let me first start by saying that the initial appointment went well; and the technician that arrived and his communication was exceptional. Once he arrived, he looked at my car and determined they needed to order a different weatherstripping for my car....okay....I get it; I'd rather have the right part than have them try to cob-job another piece in there...so, he said he'll call his office and have them order the part, and he'll be back to do the install...four weeks later, not a peep from Safelite...so I attempt to get a hold of someone to find out the status, as by now, my car's inspection expired and I cannot drive it. Into voicejail hell I go....FINALLY I try their online help center...after a bit of wrangling, I am given the direct number to the local shop, I call and I'm redirected to corporate voicejail hell again. I engage the safelight online help center again, and I'm given a different number for the local shop...hallelujah - I get an actual PERSON, they take my info, and say someone will call me back within the hour....a week later, I still have nothing, no call, no windshield; no inspection, no useable car...so I give up, I call Glass America on Friday, they're here on a Monday morning, excellent communications from the technician and my windshield is being replaced as we speak. I'll review them, once they're done, but Safelight seems to not be able to communicate with their customers if there are special circumstances outside of their limited menu of automated call center; and forget about ever contacting the individual shop directly to speak with someone. Once again, the technician that arrived to my house was great - it's whatever happens at the office end or corporate end that's seemingly the issue. Also, let me add, that Glass America was nearly $125 less than Safelite, and Glass America didn't charge an additional fee to perform the work on location at my home (all of which was doubly important since I was paying out of pocket for this replacement). Safelight had an additional charge for performing the work at a location other than their shop. UPDATE: The work by Glass America was completed in the time I wrote this review, the molding was the correct one; and so far, the work looks good....I'll do a review on them in about two weeks, once I see how it holds up in the rain....but at least I have a windshield again and can get my car inspected! read more

Safelite is a joke. They damaged my bmw while they were putting in my windshield. They jammed my moonroof now it will not open. There was nothing wrong with my moonroof prior to the installation. They are the worst company to ever have a windshield! The technician that came out to my house was very aggressive with my car as he was removing the glass he tore the headliner. I spoked with the supervisor at the Queensbury, NY office he stated that his technician did absolutely nothing wrong to my vehicle even though while he was putting the windshield on my vehicle, he put a suction cup hard on my moonroof and a suction cup hard on my driver side window and then slammed the windshield down hard on my vehicle. The slam was so hard that jammed my moonroof. I kind of think it's tweeked the frame of the moonroof. They are refusing to fix it stating it's not their fault. I never had a problem what so ever with my moonroof. This company is the worst company around. They never want to take accountability for their actions. I will never recommend Safelite ever. I had a company with my other vehicle Paid cash it's Arrow autoglass I recommend them They were the best ever. So gentle with my Nissan with no issues! didn't damage my vehicle! safelite Is a joke! read more

Impossible to talk to someone. The shop never answers the phone. It goes to a call center, they connect you to the store and they don't answer and the process repeats. Terrible customer service. They make you buy new wipers ($70), My driver side wiper flew off the first time I used them. Tried to call the store. Guess what? No answer. Terrible service - I brought my car in Saturday to replace the windshield and they we not able to recalibrate the computer system. when I picked up my car, I was just handed the key fob with no explanation. Seemed employee just wanted to end their shift. No call back in rescheduling. I can't get ahold of the shop. There's no one to pick up the phone. I called Geico and Safe Lite customer service- they too were unable to reach anyone. My dash board is lit up like a Xmas tree. It's a brand new 2024 car. The dealership won't touch it and now my computer doesn't work !!! read more

Made appointment online a week before purchasing a vehicle as it was going to need a door window replacement. The day I picked up the vehicle I got an email stating that they needed the VIN. Immediately provided the VIN and got a response that they had to cancel my appointment to order the glass. Now I am driving a car without a window in a particularly wet season in upstate new york. I rescheduled my appointment as per instructions for 2 weeks later. Got another email 4 days after scheduling my appointment asking for the VIN again. (Same employee). Was then told for the first time that they have to order the window from the manufacturer and it will change my quote. Amidst all of this I am getting emails about missing an appointment for the first appointment etc. even though they cancelled it. I give up you win ill just take the car to the dealership. Makes me nervous to have a window replaced when even scheduling the appointment has been a nightmare. UPDATE: Just got another email from the same employee stating that they never got my VIN as there were no notes on the account or anything in regards to my cancelled appointment. I just forwarded them the email chain that we were previously having about them having to cancel my appointment and confirming they received the VIN number. I got a large crack in the windshield of my 2018 Explorer, so I called my insurance company, and they set up a next day appointment with Safelite Auto Glass. I went to the shop at 1845 Central Avenue near Rt. 155. They took my car right in and about one hour later, I was back on the road. Made two appointments through my insurance. Both days, no one came. I called my insurance and there was a note that a technician came out but there was no one home and my cell phone didnt work - which were both lies! I also have a camera out front. I understand shit happens but it shouldn't be this confusing. I made an appointment for another location. read more

I had to go to their shop for a windshield replacement. Disappointed they couldn't come to me, but the service was efficient and friendly.

Way over priced wanted to charge me $600 for a windshield. Got it for $250. They seem to be the reason insurance fraud is a real thing.

Scheduled a windshield replacement on February 6th. Today was my 3rd appointment after the first 2 were canceled. Today (3/22) was canceled but did not receive even a courtesy phone call like the last 2 appointments that were canceled after the tech was supposed to arrive. Overpriced and their guys are not professionally trained. I call the the Wall Mart of auto glass. Stick to mom and pop owned auto glass shops. They are properly trained and use superior supplies and techniques. I used to be the district manager for Pittsburgh Auto Glass and would never suggest anybody go to Safelite. They are trying to be a monopoly and starve out local business. I'm all for competition, but Safelite does horrible work and you should stick with the privately owned Mom and Pops. read more

Came in to get my windshield replaced and can't say enough about the quality of service I received. I was quoted an estimate of 2 hours when I made the appointment over the phone to get it replaced, it was done in and hr and 10 minutes. He also went beyond the windshield and vacuumed out the driver and passenger side floors which I did not expect. While I waited there was a TV to watch and a fridge full of bottled water and a coffee maker that uses K-Cups they have provided, very pleasant wait. read more

Tried to use them, as encouraged by their corporate sibling that manages the auto glass claims for Amica. Found out when I showed for appointment that the windshield was "backordered". Both OEM and aftermarket. Said they'd call when available. Two weeks later, I called and asked status of part. Said they'd check and call back. Never did. So I called Toyota dealer to get story on part (as Amica had agreed to OEM because of young age of vehicle and my dissatisfaction with previous Safelite windshield on a Honda. Quality noticeably well below OEM.) Was told part was available for next day delivery. Which is exactly what happened when I dumped Safelite and went with a local independent shop, A-Line. Learned my lesson . . . next time, I will start there. read more

On the way to Albany a few weeks ago, a stone hit our windshield and cracked it. Our insurance company -- called while continuing the trip -- arranged for this SafeLite store replace the windshield the next day. I was anxious as this was an unknown shop in a town 500 miles from home. I was warmly greeted by name as I walked in the door (I guess the service attendant matched my car and the appointment time as I drove up), and treated me very warmly. I was told the service would take at least 90 minutes, so walked up the street to a diner for a late lunch. After an hour, I decided to spend the rest of the wait reading my paper at the SafeLite shop. When I returned, the work already was done and I was the handed my keys with a smile and sincere thanks. The interior of the car had been vacuumed, front AND back! Quick, friendly service and a quality job on the windshield. It was a painless as it possible could have been. What a terrific experience all the way around. A stressful situation came to a VERY comfortable and pleasant end. read more

I don't usually write reviews but the experience I had with Safelite warrants one. It was the best experience I've had with a car-related company. I received a call in the morning stating that he would be at my house at 2:30 if everything went as planned. As soon as the clock hit 2:30, a safelite van pulled into my parking lot. I was greeted by a very professional serviceman and told me the windshield replacement should take about 45 minutes. He completed the job sooner and was off. Could be the worst mistake you make dealing with auto glass replacement. 3 fails, having Safelite come to my home to replace my windshield. 3 different days, and many weeks, they showed up late every time with scratched damaged windshields. I gave them one more chance and made an appointment to go to the Latham Safelite shop. Once again the glass they were about to install was scratched. Even though I called beforehand to inspect the glass for damage. The assistant manager found another windshield after much time, that I agreed to have installed, but once again, it still had a scratch. I went back to the waiting room for what was supposed to be an hour to have the windshield installed. About an hour later they came and got me to show me they cracked the pillar moulding on my car! This part is obsolete. 5 days and still no notification they can find the part. So for now my car is back home. Still in need of a windshield and now an outside pillar moulding. My 2004 Mitsubishi convertible "Spyder" used to be in envious condition until Safelite touched it. Safelite spends their money and efforts on their commercials, not on their materials or training! I have an appointment with them on Saturday to replace a window. They told me that if I wanted to come in earlier the will shrink wrap my window. After they were fine they charged me a whole whopping $0. That's right $0. It also doesn't hurt that they ate personable as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I drove up to visit my twin sister and while driving on the highway, a rock hit my window and chipped it. I was able to drop off my car and when I picked it up, not only did the window get fixed, but they cleaned the interior of the car. This was more than I expected since as anyone knows when you on a trip, how much stuff there is in the car. Be careful! I brought my car to them to have the windshield replaced for an insurance claim. The guy was great, fixed the windshield and it was all good for about a year. Then it started to leak, it has been a real pain trying to get it taken care of under the warranty. First, I called and they said sounds like the sunroof or something else. Then I brought it to another shop after calling the safelite customer care and they said it looks like the door. I said ok and had to bring it elsewhere to have it looked at, and guess what...it is the windshield seal. They tried to say that since someone looked at it, the warranty is not valid. Funny, how there is no other option after being told it is another problem. The insurance company said they are liable and must fix it, I have been trying to get it to the for the next headache. However, my recommendation is save yourself some time and money. My carpets are soaked, I probably have mold, and I hope I do not have any electrical problems. If I could do it over, I would have brought it somewhere else under the claim or paid a real body shop to do a quality job. Good luck! read more

Illusions of easy and convenient service. I set up my appointment through my insurance online and it was super easy. They would come right to my house! Great! Called me, confirmed, sounded good. Got home.... Not so good... He didn't lock my car back up like he said he would, the slip said they vacuumed and washed windows... NOPE! also looking on your page I see the promotion of the air freshener... NOPE. Also I can still feel the crack /indent on my windshield... Which I still don't know if that is legit or not... Called customer service several times....One rep said that doesn't seem right to still feel it, another said that's totally normal, the technician that did it called me and said sorry for not vacuuming and wash Windows and he could swing by and put more filling in the crack to try and smooth out better but basically I live too far away for him to actually do it. Then I had another rep/tech come out to my work location and she looked for a whole 20 seconds and said that is fine. Didn't even offer to vacuum or clean windows. So overall something I thought wow this is so easy is easy for a reason! It sucks! Total waste of my time! read more
