He was always available to answer our questions by phone, email, or text, and he took the time to explain everything clearly and patiently. Their workers on site were always punctual and their attention to detail was impressive. The workspace was always kept incredibly organized and clean and they were even cognizant of my neighbors and what might impact them. Their expertise literally saved our build from a very poor framing contractor. The contractor caused massive delays due to non-existent planning, mismanaged materials, and repeatedly misinterpretation of the structural stamped drawings, including framing ceiling joists improperly and installation detail errors. Fortunately, the owner, Francisco Garcia, stepped in with efficient practical solutions for every single error while maintaining code compliance and structural integrity. Francisco was incredibly patient, performing comprehensive hold point inspections, clearly explaining details to help contractor's rework and omissions. He accommodated last minute inspection requests time and time again. Now that framing is officially signed off by the city, we have absolute peace of mind. Francisco and his team are the communicative, professional experts you want in your corner, whether for a remodel or new construction. FJ Engineering will contribute to the success of your project through the value they bring from initial development of structural plan drawings and his diligent oversight through final sign-off.

After the 2 month period he barely started working in 1 of the plans only. He lied to me throughout the 2 month period that everything was going as scheduled. After 4 months of delaying , lack of communication, excuses and lies I had to hire someone to pressure and push him to get my plans done. He promised he would have my plans finished and would have Jennifer speed up things and work with us, which the result was the same. A complete nightmare. I got tired of his excuses and unprofessionalism and gave him a couple of deadlines which he didn't meet. So I fired him after 6 months of delaying my project and getting no progress done. Now I am taking this to court to get my $18,000 I paid him and compensation of 6 months for delaying my project. VERY UNRELIABLE

From the first appointment to do a scan of my home, to the final permitting process for my project,…read morePacific Sands stood out for the professionalism of their entire staff and the high quality work by their designer, Victoria. The contract included two different design options and I loved both, but the one I ended up choosing gave me exactly what I was looking for in terms of design and best use of the space in the Addition I'm building. I interviewed several firms, but went with Pacific Sands because I was very impressed by how they were able to bring so many other projects to life after reviewing their website, and speaking with one of the principals, Cameron Cox. They were able to get things moving fairly quickly with the City for approval, not an easy feat. Overall, I'm super excited to bring my Addition - a dream new big master closet, expanded master bedroom and bath, into fruition. Thank you, Cameron, Kevin, Victoria and Mark, for a job well done. I definitely recommend, Pacific Sands to anyone looking for a top notch architectural firm! Three months after the start of the project, Southern California Edison requested that the PDF of the plans be converted to CAD format so we could move forward with the electrical panel relocation. Within 48 hours of contacting Pacific Sands, I got the required file back from Kevin. How's that for fast service! Our project would've been at a standstill, but now we're moving right along.

Finally, they sent ,me some structural plans which had a lot of errors and omissions. The structural engineer never even visited the jobsite and had no understanding of the project, which required a reuse of the existing foundation. I sent requests for comments and lots of corrections. I emailed, phoned and did everything possible to communicate. They just stopped responding completely. I have no idea what is going on there. Now the voice mails are all full and nobody replies at all. It seems there is only one person there who does any work. The rest are administrators who just foul thing up. Now, I have to start over with a different firm. What a waste of time and effort on everybody's part. My recommendation is to avoid this company. There are many other options. Beware! Update: They replied and now want 100% payment of the entire fixed price contract up-front or they refuse to complete the work. The contract agreement called for a fixed price to complete all drawings and attain a buildiung permit. They have not even submitted anything to Building and Safety yet and the plans still need many corrections even before they can be submitted! In addition, there are many things missing from the plans altogether which will be needed by Building and Safety. The job is only half done! In addition, they want $100 per hour with no limit for any more work completed. Absurd. Hire this company at your own peril! You have been warned by several clients.
