I meet a rep at a job fair, I know quite a bit about ballistic shielding and it is something I believe in, which is critical for sales. I sent an email with all my information inquiring about a job and asking for a response to discus the job. that was over a month ago, NO REPLY. Not even an automated reply acknowledging submission of the online form. With the reviews I have seen it might be for the best, however, a company should respond to all employment questions if they sent a rep to a job fair. Buyer beware. I truly think this was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Safe Haven ADT installed a faulty fire alarm system in my home and, after the 4th time that the alarm went off for no reason (in the middle of the night), I called to cancel our contract. The fire alarm went off so often that our toddler started to be fearful of it... in our own home. We tested it, checked the batteries, and still, it went off for no reason. After a slew of calls with customer service representatives, I finally spoke to someone on 8/19 who said they would waive our contract cancellation fee. She confirmed three times on the phone that we would pay $0 for cancelling our contract due to the severity of our circumstances. She was also surprised to see that the system Safe Haven ADT installed in our home was SO OLD that ADT doesn't even sell it. A week later, a bill for $842 arrived from ADT. Contract cancellation fee. Purchased a new home and had safe haven come out less than a week later. Here are the few issues we've had in the first 30 days since install. 1. CSR lied about pricing. 2. Technician had almost no clue how to install everything but of course was knowledgeable about how much all the products were. 3. Took technician 6 hours on first visit and 3 hours on second visit to get everything set up. 4. Our front porch light has never worked since the technician left after the second visit. 5. Nothing on our apps work anymore. We can't control anything. I called adt told them I wanted to cancel only for them to tell me I have to cancel through safe haven. I call and was on hold for over 32 minutes just for them to disconnect the call at 5pm when they close. I'm 10 months pregnant and having my child in 3 days. I wanted a security system to feel safe bringing her home. Oh boy. I don't usually like to write low reviews for companies, but this experience was pretty astonishing. My slogan for the process has been: "The Comcast of home security systems." I don't want to get into too much detail, but it took 3 attempts to get my house running with security, and I needed to take my mornings off of work 3 times for them to figure out how to configure the security system. An incredible lack of communication and me being overcharged led me to write this review. Now, the techs that came over were very nice, and I've been content with ADT's customer service, but it shouldn't have taken 3 times to configure everything. The guy that took my appointment time gave me a quote of $99 installation, and $49.00 monthly. I was totally under the impression that was all I had to pay was the $99 fee that day, being that I had a ton of things (monetarily) to sort out due to my home purchase. He also presented me with a voucher worth $500 for additional equipment, that wasn't worth anything (per technician) and per my ability to not get anything for that voucher. After looking at my credit card statement a few days later, I was charged nearly $300 plus another fee of $49.00! His first quote for everything was $10,000. Wanted to sell me motion sensor and glass break, omitting the fact that the Qolsys panel I had free with the home already includes both motion and glass break. The company our builder (D.R. Horton) is partnered with. They give you a "free $500 voucher." Which you then learn you have to pay $99 to use. Yes.... It's a $500 voucher than you pay $99 to use. The builder gives you a Qolsys panel, skybell, echo, and a few other devices for "free"... But if you sign up for monitoring (ADT) you're locked into a 36mo contract... 3 years! And if you don't, you can't use the services you're given. He said I cannot install any cameras on the system on my own, only through him. Not sure if that's true yet. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SAFE HAVEN My husband and I were conned into this system with a 30 day money back guarantee, which 3 representatives told us, not just one. That was a LIE! We decided that we did not want the system after 3 things in the first 2.5 weeks. 1. The doorbell camera that we received does not work it is always offline and needs to be troubleshoot or hit a retry. 2. We were sitting in our living room when one of the door sensors fell off the door, with no one touching the door or anything. 3. The last straw was when we tried to call and get someone to come out and we were on hold for over 45 minutes with no one answering. We then decided that it wasn't worth what we're paying for it and wanted to cancel and thats when they continue to recite the same thing over and over again about there right to recision being 3 days with penalty free cancellation because they are an ADT AUTHORIZED DEALER not actual ADT that we thought we were signing up with. Then proceeded to tell me that we would have to pay $1900 to get out of our contract for a system that has not been fully functioning since we've had it. And if we choose not they will continue to bill us AND it will go to collections. I can not express in words how awful this company is. I recently lost my spouse of 29 years. We purchased our home 1 year ago and decided to have an alarm system installed. I called yesterday to explain my situation and to find out what I need to do to cancel the service as I have to sell my home. They will do nothing to help a widow. They in fact want to charge a $700 cancellation fee. I understand contracts but really they can't work with me at all. This company prays on people when they are most vulnerable. The sales person will tell you anything you want to hear (no penalty for canceling your service) and then when you want to do so the customer service lets you know that there is indeed a high fee for cancelation and their is a clause inthe contract stating in laymens terms, 'it does not matter what the sales representative says in your home, what is in the contract is what is true'. When you ask customer service to speak to a manager about the fraudulent information you have been given they will not forward you to anyone else from their company, standing behind the contract. After being harassed by a salesman who was in my area, I posted a picture and warning to my community about this salesman. He asked my handicap neighbour how many people were home with her how many people live in her house and how much her house was worth? Two days later him and another guy returned to my address to otter threats which I recorded demanding I remove the post I said no. She informed me that they don't tolerate this behaviour and these boys would be dealt with and most likely fired. A week later the same two people were being called out by other individuals on my community page for asking inappropriate questions like...how many people are in your house? how much is your house worth? do your video cameras work? how much were they worth? these are all questions that no professional alarm company would ask. Again I called Barb to inform her that these two individuals were still making trouble in our neighbourhood she decided to over talk me interrupt me and then hang up on me. It seems this company doesn't care if their employees harassed you or have poor manners. All this complaint is after is a contract signed an alarm in your house. If I could go lower than a 1 star I would. Completely a rip-off. The saies person goes through everything so fast, and on a cell phone, so it's impossible to actually read everything. The person that installed said he would be back in a couple of weeks to do the doorbell correctly because he didn't have what was needed. Didn't come back until we started calling. Did fix the driveway cam, but never did get the doorbell. Tried at that time to say it's the internet. We went ahead and bought a booster, even though we didn't think that was the issue. Still do not have a working, functioning system, and I do random speed tests and screen shot them so I know my internet is good. Now, after the last time they came my doobell doesn't work at all, not just the alarm, the entire doorbell. They have a clause that says you only have 3 days to cancel, then lie to you so you don't realize there's a problem until after that 3 days. Then they continue to lie blaming your internet because there's also a clause in the contract they don't let you see until after the fact, that if it's internet, you're still stuck paying. So far I have had a terrible experience with ADT through Safe Haven. We just purchased our first home, I came home from to a sales rep on my door step telling me that a $3500 credit was given to us for closing on our house and he was here to get us set up. I was a little apprehensive as this was the first time I had heard about this but I was interested in a security system so I listened anyways. There was no real asking if we wanted to start up service he kinda just went on a spiel about all this stuff we would get for free then said "lets make the call to get you set up." again I was still a little apprehensive as I hadn't done any research yet. One of his main things to reassure me was that "if for whatever reason you aren't happy in the first 6 months you will get every penny back." well lets just say as I am finding out now that I am unsatisfied with my service that it is not true. I have decide after 1 week that this service is not worth my time or money because of issues we have encountered. Their fancy smoke detectors they upsold me on that are suppose to only detect real fire threats triggers an alarm if you open the bathroom door and steam comes out, we used over 50% of our 1,000 saved video clips in 4 days due to headlight shadows passing our house and rain drops passing the camera, causing my phone to get hundreds of notifications at night forcing me to silence my phone. Whenever the doorbell camera notifies me of motion at the front door it take so long to load (even with excellent cell service or connected to wifi) that I can't see or interact with whoever is at the door. I was also displeased with the install service. The install was suppose to be from 1-6 pm. They arrived at 1pm on time, however they didn't leave my home until 9pm. most of the time was not even spent installing anything. They did an assessment of my house. Then proceeded so tell me my house wasn't going to be a secure enough and told me I should spend thousands more to secure our house. I kept declining as the whole reason we were doing this was because we were "gifted" $3500 credit and didn't want to spend more. They continued to pressure us into upgrading more and more stuff. Even when I brought up not wanting to spend money they would keep pushing financing options on us. once they finally started finishing installing stuff around 8pm we were also rushed through all the paper being pushed to sign while the install tech would quickly scroll through screen without allowing us to read. Little did we know we were signed into a 36 month contract without one word of it being mentioned by the sales rep or install techs. Once I called to report being unhappy I was greeted by an already unpleasant sounding customer service rep. When I mentioned I wanted to use the 6 month satisfaction guarantee that was promised to us my the sales rep (again this was one of his main selling points as we were a bit apprehensive) we were told, "oh you only have 3 days to get your money back, the 6 month guarantee is only if your system doesn't work. I asked to talk with the sales rep who set us up as we feel lied to and I got sent to his voice mail, we have yet to here back. Also their early termination fees are obsurd. 75% of the remaining contract. ($65/mo x 36 mo = $2,340 x .75 = $1755 to cancel my service!) I do not want this service and do not want to be in this 36mo contract I was pushed into without being told about. I was contacted by Jon with safe Haven ADT after we booked our home. He assure me all the windows and door would be covered with sensors. We had someone who installed them but tried to sell us things we didn't need so they came back to take it back because we were told by Jon that he just wanted to sell us more items and i was assured by him that's all the windows were covered so we opted for getting the ones he said we didn't need taken back.Upon arrival to my home this week I realized about 7 windows didn't have sensor. I texted him and he said they'd we're covered and change the history, told me he had the windows breaking sensors instead. That's a lie he assured me ALL WINDOWS WOULD HAVE SENSORS! Worst company ever!!!!!! Devices dont work, long hold times, they make promises and dont deliver. Filing a complaint with Attorney General as I have gotten the run around and paying a lot of money for devices that dont function. Their customer service is the worse....and the virtual appointments that they send you - they call before the appointment then claim they can call 30 minutes before the appointment. If lying was a company, it would be Safe Haven. This past March I moved into my very first home. Safe Haven is the provider my builder used, so I trusted them to provide excellent service. When the technician arrived, he presented an array of items for selection. I knew most of the items listed, I didn't need and did not select. But the items I did select, I was concerned about the price and felt it was too expensive. The technician stated I was under no contractual obligation and could cancel at any time. Because I never felt good about the purchase, I decided to cancel. I called to cancel, Safe Haven billed me for $1437 more than the original bill. After I received the invoice for the cancellation, I called back and eventually spoke with someone who identified themselves as a supervisor (I do have her name). She told me the cancellation fee is 75% of my contract. That's a lie. The original bill was $1084. My cancellation fee should have been $813. She should have said it's a 75% increase. And she told me I have three days to cancel my contract. Who does three days cancellation? You have at least 7 days for a car purchase cancellation. Do not use this company or ADT. I have since learned I could have used ring for $300 less for the equipment and paid $100 for yearly monitoring of my home. PLEASE DO NOT LET THESE DISHONEST PEOPLE IN YOUR HOME. read more

I have to admit I was crazy skeptical when Mike came to my door a few days after moving in to our new house. A quick Google search turned up nothing but terrible reviews like the others on this page, but I gave him a shot anyway and had a nice conversation. After inviting him in and talking for a few minutes about our options, Mike made a soft sale pitch and left the ball in my court. No pressure. He even helped schedule a next day install. When the installation technicians arrived the following day there was a slight air of sales pressure, but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm not a huge fan of up-selling techniques and haggling, but I understand that it works for some companies. After getting over that mild annoyance and telling the techs that I wasn't interested in any upgraded plans they were prompt with setting up the system and showing us the ropes. My initial expectations for Safe Haven were about as low as it can get, but based on how poor the previous Yelp reviews are, Mike and his team appear to have righted the ship. I turned my ADT off that safe haven installed, months ago but i still pay a monthly fee. I only have 4 months left (yeah). Dont pay for the upgrade of better sensors (500$) with their guarantee of no false alarms, hell the alarms went off day 4 and kept going off weekly for the first 2 months then down to once a month or two. I had 4 techs over 6 times in the first 6 months all on my time. ( I had to take off of work each time) because they use the you signed the 3 year contact BS on me. It took until the fourth tech to realize they never put a sensor on my garage door.
