Background: I have been a customer for approximately three years. When my home was built in June 2023, the builder (Century Communities) contracted with Safe Haven Security to install and activate my smart home connectivity. I own the physical panel and security equipment. The Incident: While currently traveling 3,000 miles away from home, I was subjected to high-pressure sales tactics from Safe Haven representatives attempting to force me into signing a new, long-term contract. I repeatedly advised Safe Haven via multiple communications that I was away, provided them with my specific return date, and requested a temporary delay in any account changes until I returned. Despite this, because I refused to sign a long-term contract while traveling, Safe Haven completely deactivated my account and removed my email address from their system. Impact and Safety Liability: This retaliatory disconnection has completely locked me out of my remote access, leaving me entirely blind to my home's security and automated systems until my scheduled return on July 24. I am currently unable to monitor my security cameras or panel status. I have no way of knowing if my home has power or if my air conditioning is operational in 90+°F weather. Safe Haven placed me in a "no-win" situation, threatening that if I did not sign a contract immediately, my panel would be shut off and I would be forced to pay a reactivation fee later. This intentional disruption goes beyond poor customer service--it has created a severe safety liability and left my home vulnerable. A representative from Safe Haven contacted me by email this morning regarding the new build. After several exchanges with Meredith, I have serious concerns about the company's legitimacy. Safe Haven appears to be contracted by the builder to install a smart home system, but the company refuses to answer questions directly and instead refers everything back to the builder. That approach is concerning. If the company is offering a product for installation, it should be able to explain the system clearly--especially since not every homeowner wants it. Instead, the responses have felt evasive and dismissive. Overall, these sub-par practices come across as deceptive scam and make the company difficult to trust. Safe haven presents themselves as ADT, not a third party who only sells you the equipment. Actually, I may have been okay with that had we not had to call Safe Haven repeatedly to come out and fix their equipment. Their equipment either doesn't work properly or their employees have no idea what they're doing. After having them come out 6 different times to fix things, like cameras don't work, door locks don't function properly, and even had one employee suggest that we use a zip tie in an electrical outlet, we had had it. We reached out again to ask for the manager to come out and take a look. He had already been requested, but sent others in his place until we said "No, we want the actual manager here". Finally he comes, says there is no problem with system and does a bit of realignment within the computer part of the system. STILL TO THIS DAY, the cameras don't work properly and don't even pick up a person standing in the middle of the driveway, but will pick up a car driving past the house. This is the camera that should be watching and protecting us at the back of our house. I am so frustrated with SafeHaven, I could scream. I advise you to not fall for the SafeHaven scam. Call ADT, not a third party who claims to be ADT. SafeHaven is a dealer of equipment and they don't care about you, your home, or your safety apparently. At this point, I feel like SafeHaven owes us something, like an additional camera considering the number of times they have had to come here to fix things they installed. The saddest part to me is all the those who don't know better like young families and elderly families or people who want to feel safe and protected. SafeHaven is a gamble that I would not suggest to anyone. Call a professional like ADT themselves, Vivint, or Brinks and clarify that you are with them and not a third party. Yes, SafeHaven is an authorized dealer for ADT but, as I already stated, they presented themselves as ADT, not SafeHaven. SafeHaven is in tinky tiny print, ADT is big and bold on their info. I would get rid of SafeHaven's equipment but they do just enough to make you think you're in good hands when the reality is that you are not in good hands. Maybe it's better in other areas. Run away. Do this with somebody else. It will be less headache...guaranteed. Sales rep lied about capabilities. Technicians tried to clarify and fix the misinformation. I canceled. The "win-back team" called me back & offered some free equipment to correct the mishap. New technician installed, but left all the screens off the windows (from installing sensors). I never heard of screen removal to add security sensors. The manager told me it would cost $85 to send a technician back out to finish/fix what his technician did wrong. Bad business! Once they get your money & lock you into the FOREVER contract; you will never get the communication you deserve. Still awaiting a call back. Worth it to cancel for their outrageous fee of $3,500. we just moved into a newly built neighborhood and was ripped off by someone named Victor. We allowed him into our home and trusted him to be there to do what best for us but we feel he came in and just took advantage of us. He had charged us over $2,000 for everything we got. Then the next day was at our neighbors house and gave him everything for free. We know this because our neighbors asked us how much we paid and we told him. he looked at us like were crazy bc he got everything for free and we asked him how he did that he said he told Victor that he didn't want anything multiple times so he told him he will just give it to him for free. We were very upset and we talked to Victor and he said he couldn't do anything for us but give us two months free subscription ($100). Us still being upset asked to talk to his boss. When we finally got in contact with his boss he said he could do anything for us. So i asked to talk to whoever was higher than both them. I was told multiple times by Victors boss i didn't have to talk to anyone else. I had to ask multiple times before he even agreed to let me talk to whoever was higher than him. The next day I received a phone call from the regional manager named Beau Gobert and had a conversation with him with him agreeing to give us up too $800 back. Which would mean we didn't need to pay the last of our payments for the items that were put into my home & a check for the two months of the subscription. I agreed and texted him right after the phone call asking for confirmation of the phone call with everything we agreed to. It took a couple days to receive a email saying we still owe almost $200. I tried calling and texting Beau Govert multiple times and haven't received a response. So i contacted customer service two weeks ago and was told they were going to put a ticket in so he can contact me and i haven't received anything. So i decided to contact them again this morning about the situation and i was told because i have no proof that he agreed to give ben up to $800 back they can't do anything for me. So I asked for the conversation recording of the conversation between him and I since every call starts with (this line is being recorded) and they said because he contacted me from what im guessing was his personal phone number that they won't have the recording. So if you have any of there sales reps come to your home just let them know you don't want anything because at the need they will offer to give it all to you for free anyways. read more

My front door disconnected from my system Sunday night. I called first thing Monday morning but had to leave a voicemail. No response. Same thing the next day. Nobody answered my multiple calls and was forced to leave a voicemail. That evening I sent in an email. No response. WEDNESDAY afternoon I called again finally got a response where they said they can send somebody out tomorrow....there is now a live man hunt in my neighborhood with 3 suspects at large. Safe Haven has 100% FAILED ME as a customer. The fact I can't see the status of my front door nor can the company IS MIND BLOWING AND ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. Situation: Midland, Texas, Closed on new home and Chad the Technician arrived prompt as scheduled. Task: Chad was awesome, very knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable to go with his system. He installed most of the system that day but needed to return another time to install a couple outside cameras. Action: The doorbell camera stopped working and over the next few days went in and out of service. The cameras have never been fully installed and still do not work. Two technicians have been to my house multiple times now and still cannot get the cameras working. All of this I was very patient with... but the other day my two kids came home from school and put the code in the keyfab but the door didn't open. So they called my wife but she was 40 mins away. Luckily, the neighbor (who we obviously didn't know) came over and asked them to come into her home. When my wife arrived home the neighbor told her the kids were upset, the workers were making rude comments to my daughter and she didn't feel comfortable leaving them alone outside. Result: I called Chad and told him I needed to cancel the security service. Instead of providing security for us - because of the faulty equipment installed, Safe Haven has actually created a dangerous and unsafe environment for my family... nothing more dangerous than a false sense of security. Chad totally understood and said corporate would reach out to me. Below is the email I received from corporate... not a care in the world about the safety of my family. Pretty scary - ey! I do not believe I ever saw or read or signed any contract? I pushed a few buttons on an ipad if I remember correctly - but I know I never read anything because I didn't have my glasses on. Regardless, if your contract reads, "Safe Haven Security will install faulty equipment that will not work and lock your children out of the home and leave them in grave danger.", then you're correct, you provided what we agreed to and I should pay a termination fee. If your contract does not contain the above language - then please refund my payment in full. TERRIBLE. I cannot express how frustrated i am with them. we have been with them for 5 months now. 4 of those months our cameras have not worked due to being disconnected from the wifi. My husband and i have both reached out multiple times for help and when we got no response we did extensive research to try to fix it ourselves. I finally was able to get contact with them 2 days ago and the customer service rep RAISED HER VOICE to speak over me and was extremely rude. wants to charge us $85 dollars for someone to come out to fix their faulty equipment. Never have i been under contract with a company that still charges you for repairs to their equipment. Not to mention we've been paying for this security system for 4 months that hasn't worked. So we "agreed" to a call from one of their techs last night to help guide us on how to fix the issue (no charge) and THEY NEVER CALLED. If you want ADT, you can surely get it through a better authorized dealer. I was offered a move-in special that shockingly changed to less equipment even though I called back during the offer period. You will get a hard sell during the installation to buy more expensive equipment (that was never even previously mentioned as an option). The install guy also nearly got into a physical altercation with another security service seller who came to the door while he was there. In addition, they will charge you for their screw-ups when installing their system. Incredibly scammy company and I regret making the decision to go with them. They offered me the best move-in special, but I should've stopped as soon as the rescinded the full offer they'd given me and gone somewhere else. read more

Guys please please please do your research before signing a contract with ANY Company, not just Safe Haven. I usually never leave reviews in general, but this experience just left a terrible feeling in my gut and I felt I should at least inform other brand new homeowners who are looking into getting a security system. My SO and I just recently bought a home, and with all the good things that come with being a homeowner, there are also cons - and of course that con is being visited by solicitors. A man showed up at our house around 7-8pm yelling outside our house (assuming he wanted to see if anyone was home) as we have no doorbell in our home. Wondering what the fuss was, we went outside and were greeted by probably one of the nicest salesman I've ever met. He informed us that he was sent to us by our closing company - which neither of us recalled (so we were already a tad bit skeptical), but he was nice so we listened. He told us he was with an authorized ADT dealer and was very upfront about everything - which I'm grateful for because all the other negative reviews stated people were not aware of the 3-day cancellation timeline or the 3-year contract. He informed us about both and did not pressure us to get any equipments that he did not seem necessary. After about talking for an hour outside, he ended up coming into our home (another red flag, please DO NOT let any strangers come into your home) and made us feel like he was a friend and we thought "you know what? we do need a security system" and we started the process of him taking our credit card info and social security number (also another red flag as most companies only require the last 4 digits of your social and not the full SSN to run a credit check). We were approved right away and he let us know that we would have 3 days to change our mind - again very upfront and he left us with all his contact information (he came out on a Friday, and please also note that Safe Haven counts Saturday as a business day). As soon as he left, we did not feel at ease and so we did some research and found out other people ran into the same situation and that they were having issues with the technological equipments they received and automatically we knew we had to cancel right away before a technician came out. There was no point signing a 3-year contract for equipment that will not provide us the security we should be granted as consumers. We let him know the next day we wanted to cancel the appointment with the technician and to further ensure the appointment was cancelled, we made sure to contact Safe Haven directly that following Monday. Luckily, everyone we dealt with (from the man that came to our house with the title 'Relocation Manager', to the customer service that helped us out on the phone) were really friendly which I know not everyone had the same experience. We were able to cancel the appointment before signing any contracts that would have locked us in so we did indeed get very very lucky. Again, I wanted to post this review to inform other homeowners and thought they at least deserved 2 stars as the people that we dealt with were helpful, but we did not appreciate someone coming out after work hours and then pushing their way into our home just tell sell us something that would have eventually failed down the line. I am appalled at the service I have received with Safe Haven/ADT. For a year, I have attempted to work with them to resolve issues, and I'm consistently left with a security system that doesn't work, unprofessional techs, and miserable customer service. Since day 1, my front door sensor has been replaced multiple times, and for the 3rd time this week, I came home through my front door and the system didn't do anything. Someone can break into my door and assault me and the system wouldn't even register it! My back door has the opposite problem; it consistently alerts someone is breaking in and sets the alarm off at all hours, when the door hasn't been touched. My dogs have had their hearing impacted because of the consistent, blaring alarms that go off for no reason. If all this isn't enough, my cameras don't properly record. Someone could attack me on my driveway, and the camera won't register we're even there. I work the retail industry, and I would be ASHAMED to provide the service and products they offer. I have been on the phone for 1+ hour, and I've spoken to 9 people, one a supervisor, and I have yet to get someone who can help me! Safe Haven/ADT, I will forever tell everyone I know that they should never purchase your faulty products! They will know how unsafe your products are! UPDATE! Just got told there are no managers to speak with after 4p, so I can leave a message and get a return call on Monday. Got transferred to leave a voicemail, and after only saying my name, the voicemail hung up on me! Not only did he make a second trip to be sure everything was fine, he called me at home because he had been thinking about my system and what might have gone wrong in the first place. He explained all the safety features ( duress code and panic button) and he was kind and efficient.
