Kids meal
Zoe C.

The kids meal was very good; the service was also amazing. I almost immediately got my food! Very painent and polite, I eat here every time!!! Would recommend

Very good burgers, the fries were made fresh. Great customer service and the surroundings were clean and the best part was we were eating by the ducks.

buffalo chicken sandwich on the bottom

Best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had. It was chicken with buffalo sauce, lettuce, and melted cheese served on brioche buns. It tasted amazing dipped in their side of ranch. Also came with a side of fries. Not only that but this seemed to be the only easily accessible place that had the frozen minute maid lemonade, both regular and strawberry. I had gone around asking several employees where I could get the frozen lemonade and they had told me it was on the opposite side of the zoo, until i came across safari kitchen which is actually right by the front entrance. There were also lots of tables and shade provided.

Thought it was pretty good, my girlfriend thought it was spectacular. She recommends the buffalo chicken sandwich (don't forget the ranch) and frozen lemonade. She claimed it was the greatest chicken sandwich she ever ate and would actually go into the park just to eat there. She wouldn't even need to look at the animals.

Pretty damn good for zoo food. My daughter had chicken strips with fries and the tenders were all breast meat with a light crispy and crunchy breading. The fries left a lot to be desired but it just needed salt. I had the potato twister which pretty tasty especially considered it was smothered in smoky bacon. 4 out of 5 stars meaning a B seems adequate.

love this place. might be our favorite burger place in san diego!…read more we got the mini cheeseburger with fries and the chili burger. both were delicious in their own way. the fries are great wedge fries with a good crunch and flavoring on the outside but soft and pillowy on the inside. we also got a vanilla shake that was huge. after drink half we brought home the rest which filled up their whole to go cup! there was plenty of seating when we went and the staff was super attentive and brought out our food fast.

Our orders were taken quickly, and large waters with lemon were brought out to us. Our burgers came out in about 7 minutes and they were just what the doctor ordered. :) My chicken burger was especially delicious, and I'd asked for extra pickles, and let's just say that the Hodad's chefs did not disappoint. There had to be at least 15 pickles on this bad boy. YUM! Onion rings were crispy and delicious. M. loved his burger and as usual, his only complaint was that he wished it was bigger. Haha. We enjoyed our food and the fun, kitschy Hodad's dining area. I feel like every time I come here, I spot something on the walls, or dangling from somewhere, that I haven't seen before. It's always a good time at Hodad's and it is certainly worth a visit if you haven't been here before. Keep in mind they do have a limited menu (burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fries, rings, shakes & some beverages and beers.) However, the table next to us ordered shakes and they looked hella good. Next time for us, for sure!! Mahalo!

Dennise seated us and was so kind, she even shared a few of her favorite menu items since it was our first visit. Our server Anelle was great as well. She was friendly, attentive, and helped us pick some really good dishes. We tried the Tacos Dorados de Papa, El Sampler de la Abuela, and La Bomba, and for appetizers the Burrito de Machaca con Frijoles Puercos and the sweet corn tamal (which ended up being my favorite). The food and ambiance were great, but the service from Dennise and Anelle really stood out. They made our birthday brunch feel special.

Cocina 35 is a popular Mexican brunch spot in San Diego, with 3 locations in the area. I secured a…read morereservation online for Sunday, and I'd recommend that given it does get busy. Cramped and loud, but nicely decorated and serving solid authentic meals. Mexican Latte-9/10: Pretty straightforward. A solid, nostalgic spiced coffee. Mazapan Latte-10/10: A novelty menu item, both nostalgic and tasty. With a sweetened condensed milk rim and mazapan dust, this sweet coffee is a must order. Chilaquiles-10/10: Cocina 35 knows how to throw down the best Mexican breakfast item: the chilaquiles. The Verde was good but didn't pack much heat. The Salsa Secreta was our favorite; a creamy 3-chile salsa with an artichoke flavor, this one packs an enjoyable amount of heat. The Chipotle was another yummy and creamy option, making your nose run but still very enjoyable. Frijoles Puercos-7/10: They were pretty standard. I've definitely had better. They served their purpose as a good side. Concha Rellena-7.5/10: Another creative menu item. Whipped cream and whole strawberries sandwiched between two french toast-style concha halves and drenched in cajeta. It was sweet and warm, but would've been more enjoyable with fresher and/or sliced strawberries. Fun to order, but a regular concha is better suited for enjoying with your coffee. Service-6/10: Again, Cocina 35 gets packed, so service isn't as attentive. Our party had to order and wait for water, ask for refills, call the server over for more orders and again for the bill, and wouldn't speak to us in Spanish. I witnessed other tables be spoken to in Spanish, but upon ordering I'd only be responded to in English. I know I'm a white Mexican, but native tongue is nice when I make it clear I'd like to order in Spanish. Overall, a fun spot with solid menu items. The samplers are pricey but probably the best bang for your buck. They do the classics very well, and are very much worth your visit!
