We are delighted to have the grocery store open at last! The olive bar is $8.99/pound and I head straight for it. Their lovely Mediterranean bread is close by and I go there next. They have beautiful halal meats and cold cases with everything you would want.
My husband and I enjoy checking out the produce and walking the aisles.
This last time we tried the restaurant. Perhaps we should have used better judgment in ordering. My husband saw this big brown chicken rolling around in the rotisserie and had to have it. $15 with rice and salad.
As it turned out, it was an entire chicken, very dry, parts of it so dry as to be inedible. There were 3 fresh chickens, not near ready, also on a bottom rack. He got a great deal of dry rice and a tomato and lettuce salad.
No dressing. No sauce. We went home were it would be more comfortable to eat and where I had condiments.
I had ordered 2 lamb Skewers that started out enormous and shrank considerably. They came with the same rice and salad and a heavy Tahini dressing tomato/cucumber/bell pepper/onion salad? The Skewers were overcooked.
I liked our cook/server, but he was working by himself it seemed and was busy. The lamb was flavorful but chewy.
The menu sounds interesting but maybe a sandwich would have been a better choice.
I DO love the grocery.
