Jason and his team have done a great job for me and my company. We have had a nightmare dealing with vandalism and homeless breaking into a vacant property we own causing over $100k in damages. Finally, someone referred me to Sacramento Protective Services and since they took the property over, we have had very few problems. I receive regular written reports and we have had no complaints about the way the officers interact with the public. In fact, they usually know most of the regulars as these people just move from property to property and just want to find someplace where no one with bother them. I live in Natomas & SPS was hired to patrol our HOA & instead they shoot, and kill a dog who was barking in an abandoned home (2/4/24), without falling back and calling animal control and Sac Pd. This is the 2nd time this security team has shot at animals. Then they patrol our area looking for trash can violations, cars parked on public street (issuing orange tickets) and failing to patrol our neighborhood instead working as compliance officers. But the blame lies in the Board of Directors who oversee their duties. read more

I wish I could give them a 0. They love to harass the unhoused people of Sacramento (pulling tasers on sleeping homeless) and anyone that looks unhoused (I wear a rucksack for shopping and exercise). To whom it may concern: 0n 5/19/22 at approx 355pm (1555) I was assaulted, detained, and threatened by 2 Sacramento Protective Service Officers (SPS) in front of Scc Dental, North Highlands, CA 95660 parking lot. I was on return from shopping at Walmart Supercenter, 4675 Watt Ave, North Highlands, CA 95660. While in the parking lot I saw an SPS vehicle parked and blocking 2 disabled person parking spots and began recording at 348pm (1548). At approx 355pm (1555) I called the dispatch and told them of the officer's conduct, dispatch told me I needed to speak with a supervisor and disconnected. At approx 355 pm (1555) another officer showed up and asked me if he could help me I said no and he told me I was trespassing and grabbed me with the help of the first officer. I asked which of the business complained and he said "that's not how it works". I believe this stemmed from me calling dispatch about me recording them. I pulled my arms away at which point the 2nd officer/supervisor had pulled out his taser and had it pointed at my chest practically touching me. I dared him to shoot me because I knew they were in the wrong and he knew that too. Another officer showed up and attempted to deescalate the situation. They addressed me before addressing the reason they were out there, which was an unhoused man allegedly with a knife.  The second responding officer may have profiled me as unhoused because I ruck when shopping and going out. When he made contact with me, I was approx 0.2 miles from my home. I called the Sheriff's Dept on 5/19/22 when I got home and charged my phone at 511pm (1711) to report the assault, detention, and threat done by SPS. When speaking with the Sheriff's Deputy Barron (Badge: 1298) he advised me it was a civil issue. I didn't realize nothing substantive was submitted in my report SD22-145451. When I called back a week later(5/26/22) I spoke with deputy Henderson (Badge: N/A). I requested criminal charges after he asked me why I was following up and asked why I wasn't pursuing a civil lawsuit or a Restraining order. I expressed that they were wrong by grabbing me without provocation and only in response to being recorded. I asked him how would I place a restraining order against someone I don't know. He asked how were they going to find out who did it. I mentioned the Vehicle ID #'s, time, location, and a photo of the instigating SPS officer/supervisor he appeared surprised as if those were not noted in my previous report. He gave me report SD22-153090 On 06/02/2022 I spoke with Deputy Stewert (Badge: 2185) and he told me they were informative reports and they wouldn't go any further. I asked why there wasn't going to be any additional follow-up. He told me a security guard may put his hands on a person if it is in the function of their duties. I asked him what function or business was being conducted and he repeated the same thing (avoiding my question). Specifically, what did I do that deserved this treatment? Did they (The sheriff's Office) ever request Dashcam video from the vehicles I mentioned? (I know SPS officers do not wear body cams). Did they ask Scc Dental (location of the incident) if they had a video? Did they ask SPS about the call (recorded) at approx 355pm (1555) speaking with SPS dispatch? At this point, I feel this is not being taken seriously and dismissed and I ask is it because; The SPS officer is former Law Enforcement? The CEO of Sacramento Protective Service (Jason Ingman) is former Law Enforcement? The 80 Watt District believes in this private policing and ultimately the ends justify the means? That a Security Guard may assault, threaten and detain for the good of business interests? That 1st and 4th amendment protections may be violated when a Security Company (Private Policing) does it? My Injuries were not that bad? The threat of a taser is acceptable? Paying for silence is easier? That Security Guards have qualified immunity too? Sacramento Protective Service is our local Blackwater policing with little to no limits/restrictions? Sheriff Scott Jones and his Captain Jim Barnes are ok with no investigation being conducted by their Sheriffs? I am a nearly 10-year resident of my community and before that, I was deployed for both Operation Enduring Freedom (2008) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2009). At this point, I am ashamed of anyone who sees this conduct and can turn a blind eye to it. Shame on you! I was trying to reach out to the the front security and no answer, anytime I have called there has never been an answer. I ended up calling the dispatch number (prompt 1) and a guy answered, I asked if anyone was at the front gate and his response was (I imagine so). I'm sorry but what kind of "professional" answers like that, and this isn't the first time I have had to call and received an extremely rude person on the other end. I asked for him name and he told me his badge number was 204. I wanted to report suspicious activity near the back to where I live and after that I felt like I wasn't going to get any help. I also would like to point out that at night after 11 the gate stays up and no one is there for longer than hour durations, the husband and wife that work the security are always standing outside the entrance smoking. It is pretty disappointing that these services are here for us but the feeling is as though we the resident seem to be a bother to them. read more

We hired Sacramento Protective Services for the company that I work for and I think they are outstanding! I can't commend them enough for the wonderful job they do at our property. We've been through a lot of different security companies and none of them are close to doing as good as a job as Sac Protective. I find them to be extremely professional. They are always alert and they give our Property Managers approximately 3 page detailed reports every morning even if there were no incidences on the property that evening. Our crime rate has decreased significantly because of the physical, professional appearance of the guards and the amazing follow up work they do! Their dispatch may be a little slow, but I'm sure thats because we are in East Sacramento and they are located in Natomas. It would be nice if they responded to calls a little quicker during hours that they are not on-site, but when we have them on-site for the 8 hours or so that we do I find them to be extremely fast and helpful. The slowest possible people to respond to a dispatch! I can't believe my HOA hired them without the homeowners' consent. I want Paladin back. I called about people digging through trash in the middle of the night, and also about kids loitering in front of my house climbing and swinging on the tree. 40 minutes of waiting...nothing. Kids are still being a nuisance on my front lawn, stepping all over my plants and grass. I tried to talk to the kids and so did my next door neighbor, but it didn't work. I told the dispatcher that maybe if an officer came by to talk to the kids, they'll listen. Make your presence known in our neighborhood, SPS! Paladin was seen driving around all the time. The HOA I manage is a gated community of almost 1,000 homes in Sacramento. After a lot of research this summer I recommended Sacramento Protective Services to our Board. So far so good! The first 5 months of their contract they have been outstanding. Jason responds faster than anyone I deal with. Anytime an issue comes up he calls me to see what SPS can do differently to improve and they follow up on it and they do. Overnight parking on our private streets is not allowed and since SPS took over security the number of cars parked overnight are way down. They report street lights that are out to 311. We are an older community so we do not have too much activity but when we do SPS is out quickly to answer the call. I have dealt with Paladin, First Security and Allied Universal during my short time working my way up to GM but Sacramento Protective Services is the best security company we've had. I would recommend them to other HOA's and even our North Natomas CVS shopping center who has had some security issues as of late. The negative reviews must've been when they were first starting off - now they are well established, have experience professional guards and make our community feel safe. read more
