This restaurant is hidden in a shopping center. It is very quaint and the best part of the decor is the wall of wine that is available for purchase. The fresh bread basket that they make in house and free salsa was absolutely delicious. I could not get enough of the salsa! I tried the beef baked empanada which was great but the cheese empanada with the sauce was unbelievable! My main course was the beef stew which was perfect for the chilly day. It had plenty of vegetables and was flavorful. My coworker had the pastel de choclo and it was not good. Please stay away from that dish! Where to start, I never had the privilege of eating Chilean food but thank God I had the chance to pop the cherry here. The food was amazing the atmosphere was family oriented which made sense since it is family owned. Upon walking into Sabores Chilenos, we were greeted by many eyes, locked on ours. Uh oh, what did we walk into? Well, those eyes quickly returned to their own meals and we were greeted by a very attentive and joyful host. Honestly, everything about this place was so, so, so good. I had never visited a Chilean restaurant and I was very pleasantly surprised. We went with the empanada de pollo (chicken empanada) and empanada de marisco (seafood empanada) to start. Both of them were baked and delicious, full of flavor and tasted very fresh. Add their tomato/cilantro/hot sauce on it and it really rounds out all of the flavors. A+ We skipped the Pisco and went with a nice Cab, don't regret that choice at all. Pisco is great, but the wine really brought a lot to the main dish: Steak Sandwiches. I know what you're thinking, but please get the steak sandwiches here. The bread is the same style as the one you are given when you sit down, and it comes with tomatoes, avocado, mayonnaise (freshly made themselves), steak (obviously), and you can always add more of the hot sauce! Lol So many different dishes, wines, entress, and half of the resturant is like a mini store with many Chilean things etc but, the food quality is alright. The Chilean empanadas aren't all so great! I have been there about 3 times. The previous times loooong time ago, the restaurant was OK, but now is for never go there again. I ordered empanadas and they are so tiny, no comparison with other Chilean restaurants. I also bought a milhojas cake. What a disappointment. It looks like they add cornstarch or whatever to the dulce de leche and the cake taste horrible. I wonder why they had to close the location in Miami Beach. This place is going down. read more

My co-worker took me to this spot a couple of weeks ago during a lunch break. I've never had Chilean food before, but it turns out it's somewhat similar to Ecuadorian food (which I eat a bit of). This joint is a total "joint" in every sense of the word. It's in the back of a shopping center-- you'd have to know it was there already to find it. You go inside and it's definitely got a mom's kitchen vibe going on. It's a rare quality that only a few restaurants possess. It's comfort. Anyway, I ordered the Barros Luco which is essentially a cross between a grilled cheese and a pan con bistec. Really good, though, it could use more seasoning. However, the table has a sauce on the side that brings tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice, onions, etc (this is like a South American staple and each country seems to have their own version of this type of sauce... it's the BEST). You put some of that sauce on the sandwich and it's a completely new bite. I also tried their avocado salad, which is less a salad and more a half-avocado sliced up with a lime next to it. Squeeze the lime and you got yourself a really delicious "salad". Amazing, really. (I'm a sucker for avocados). I also tried a beef empanada which was a bit greasy. Though, it had a hard-boiled egg in it, and it makes me wish more empanadas had that element to it. Service was a bit meh. I'm pretty sure my server was the only person serving the restaurant. But the place is small, so it's not too much of a drag. I can't imagine juggling that many tables at once, though. Sabores Chilenos is a place really really tucked away in the most obscure corner of Miami (back of a shopping center on Flagler street).. but it's definitely a spot everyone should visit. read more

One of the first things that came to our mind when we knew we were coming to Miami was...Chilean food!!! and after the very first meal, Miami delivered! We don't have a Chilean restaurant in Nashville (not that we know of, if we do please share the information!), so when we have a chance to visit a big city the chances of finding one increase substantially. We found one in Los Angeles, and in San Francisco, so we had high expectations for Miami. For our first lunch we visited Sabores Chilenos. The restaurant is tucked away in an outdoor mall so it took us a little bit to find it, but we were so glad we didn't give up on it. The place was decorated with a Chilean flair, Chilean music on the speakers, and the menu...oh the menu!...we wanted to eat everything. Leslie is a sucker for empanadas, so she got 2 empanadas de carne al horno. I had been wanting to have a chacarero (a sandwich with thin cut meat, avocado, tomato, green beans, and mayo) for weeks so that's what I ordered. While our food was prepared, our server (very friendly and helpful) brought a basket with "just out of the oven" pan amasado, with a little dish of pebre. We LOVE pebre, we can eat pebre all day. The bred was hot, the pebre delicious and just with one bite we were sold...we love this place. One the food arrived and we had our first bites...we were in heaven. The flavors were fantastic! Every bite was pure pleasure. To finish strong, and to help with the Florida heat, we ordered a Mote con Huesillo for dessert. OH BOY! So good, so refreshing. Mote con Huesillo is a drink, made out of dehydrated peach and a grain similar to barley. It looks weird, but it's just delicious and so refreshing. Overall, an amazing experience. The service was fantastic, the food delicious, and the prices...incredible. We spent $21 for 2 empanadas, a Chacarero, a mote con huesillo, pan amasado, pebre and tip. We arrived around 7 and the restaurant closes at 8. It didn't feel like we were welcomed and we had to sit ourselves down. We start placing our order and the waiter informs us that the kitchen is closing and it came off a bit unprofessional. We asked for sangria and the waiter said he wasn't sure if there was any but that he would go check. He never came back to update us on the sangria. We asked him again if they have or not and he tells us no. He never recommended us any wines or asked us which flavor we preferred so we got up and selected the wine on our own. The steak sandwiches we ordered barely came with any avocado and the meat was extremely squishy. You could barely bite into it. You can tell the kitchen rushed the food out and didn't take there time to preparing it. We will not be coming back here. A huge disappointment with there customer service and food. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and unsanitary environment. They have lost a customer of over 20 years! Today we went to pick up an order that had been placed on Tuesday and confirmed yesterday (Friday) and had totaled to $250.00. When we arrived the girl at the register reviewed our order and said " we sold parts of your order so we have to offer you something else." She was absolutely arrogant and unapologetic about parts of the order being sold and dismissed us by repeating "I can offer you something else, but what some of what you ordered was sold." At this point 15 minutes have gone by and the room In which we were being helped in is small and had over 9 people which did NOT give the 6ft social distancing that is required by the CDC. The girl at the register was also not wearing gloves while handling food. The girl at the register proceeded to say we are going to make some bread and to give them 20 minutes. We then went outside and after 20 minutes went inside to get our bread the girl replied "we did not make it and it's not available" obviously upset I demanded they rectify the situation as we had not only driven 1 hour, spent almost $300.00 and had to endure unsafe environments as the small room was overcrowded, but I was treated like trash! I Will be taking to the owner and also calling the Health Department to advise that this location is not following safety guidelines nor social distancing. read more

Ok..I held off on writing this review because I am new to the Chilean world and this was my first time in a Chilean restaurant and I wanted to wait to eat at a different one before I reviewed. I really did not care for this place. They had one poor woman working the front of house and by the way the food came out...not enough people in the back of house. Started off with seafood empanadas. The seafood in it was very very minced and it had quite a bit of lemon juice in it because it was sour. Not very appetizing at all. We had also ordered an Humita, which is like their tamal. That did not come until the middle of our meal but the flavor was very good! For the main course I had fried white fish and rice. The rice was sticky but alright. The fish was very crunchy but I did not care for the fish itself. It was a bit dry and fishy. My BF ordered what looked to be a corn soup with pumpkin and beans. Nothing to write home about. He got his meal about 10 minutes after I got mine. I was noticing the same issue at the other tables. After going to the other Chilean restaurant I can now say I've had better. read more

Today was the last time I visit this place - Sunday 20th of February 2022. Our server was rude - extremely short with us for absolute no reason. She up charged us for bread - which is ok - but In the manner in which she communicated the up charge blaming the owners while being rude - left so much to be desired. The waitress - who is been there a long time, as I have had her before on other visits To the restaurant- her service was just non sensical. All unprovoked. We asked kindly for glass of water - we get a warm glass of water with no ice. Unheard of. We asked for ice to this warm glass of water she gave us as opposed to a cold glass of water with you would normally get served at any restaurant - the waiter brings a bowl of ice. Pure non Sense. I then asked what was her problem - she blamed the owners for the bread short serve. I mentioned to her that paying for extra bread was not a problem and should not be a problem for anyone else upon her request, dining here at the restaurant. Just rude and unprovoked bad service. - customers - in good faith - do not deserve this type of treatment- and it made us feel really bad. This was the uncomfortable type of service you do not what to encounter at a restaurant - any type of restaurant - it was just shameful. This place is a testament to the diversity of Miami's population. I think I've only met two Chileans in my life, and yet here is this wonderful hidden gem, owned and run by a Chilean family. I am obviously not Chilean. I have been told, however, that the Lomito is the most iconic Chilean food staple. If the one served here is any indication of what they serve in their homeland, I can't wait to take a trip there. This thing is delicious. If you had told me I would enjoy a pork sandwich with avocado and mayo as much as I did the first time I came here, I would've punched you in the mouth for uttering such falsehoods. But after trying it for the first time, I deserve to be punched in the mouth myself for having doubted it. Bravo, Chile. I must marry one of your women so I can eat this stuff daily. We just had dinner here, we wanted to try some place new and we were not dissapointed. This is my first time at Chilean place, as I expected this type of cuisine is similar to Argentinean or Uruguayean, but no so much, they don't center just in steaks, they have fish and a lot of dishes with corn, this time I had a flank steak with tomatoes, palta (avocado) and a really yummy home made mayo, I also tried the empanadas, beef and cheese, they were both very good, specially the beef one, instead of chimi they give you some kind o salsa similar to the Colombian one, at the end some desserts; Mote con Hueso was a cold fruit punch with barley; different but really good, also semola with damasco, don't ask me what was this, we laugh since we didn't know what it was semola and our waitress couldn't explain as well. Staff at first was not so engaging, but at the end they turn out to be really lovely and helpful. I definitely will return here to try some other dishes. read more

Very good Chilean food, the best in Miami. They have specialties that I love, like porotos granados, biste a lo pobre, machas a la parmesana, empanandas de carne, pollo, mariscos y queso. Most of the people that work there are family of the owner that I know for almost 20 years, we are not friends, but I remember her and her family working to get this restaurant going when they started. Service sometimes gets a little sluggish if they are busy, but this semester my schedule at the University is weird so I get to go at odd times, so I don't have that issue. When I need to get a reminder of my home food, this is the first place that comes to my mind, good old comfort food from my home. read more

He tried to charge me more arguing this new empanada is more expensive. This place is nice and cozy. Perfect for a quick lunch. It's also very inexpensive. The PRICIEST bottle of wine is 24$! I recommend trying the spinach and ricotta baked empanadas to start. Follow it up with a churrasco sandwich with green beans. Don't forget to add pevre (a spicy tomato-based sauce that is included with your meal) to everything! I love this place! It has been my go to place for when I want to taste food from home. It has authentic foods like how my grandma used to make for me. Reading some other reviews I am surprised by some bad experiences and I believe they are the exception, not the rule. I have been going and picking up food for at least 15 years and have never had a problem with food staleness or bad service. I am chilean and any time I crave food from my country I get it there. All the classical dishes are there and the cakes are excellent. And the bread.....my whole family loves the hallullas and pan amasado. This is the best chilean restaurant I have ever been!! I live in Jacksonville, Fl and everytime I was in Miami with my family. I will always stop by and eat here. I have been eating here since the age of 13yrs old and now I'm 33 yrs old. I have brought my family from Ecuador,Chile and Spain here and they also loved their food. I have beautiful memories here. My dad was Chilean and this was his favorite restaurant. Affornantly he passed away couple months ago. But I would always remember him eating their completos, empanadas and the mil ojas . They also have a little store next door where you find a great selection of Chilean and latin products and you can order empanadas and delicious "tortas" to go. Where to start? I wanted to love this place because 1 I'm half Chilean and 2 it's the only Chilean restaurant in Miami. Unfortunately it was horrible. Bistec a lo pobre(poor man steak).....not even a poor man would have enjoyed that. The waitress ....no f**** given. Our water cups were half way filled. Water shortage?? Been coming here since the 90's. Last few times there with family the food was not good at all. The salad not seasoned, the desserts ordered were stale and the empanadas were dry and probably old. I was originally going to go to the location on Collins that the other reviewer on Yelp is mentioning, however it looks like that location does not exist. We ended up driving out to Sweetwater because we were really curious about it, and also we were having a craving for Chilean food, which is very difficult to find in California. The restuarant itself was very cozy and quaint, and the perfect lunch destination for a rainy day- which it was. I was very happy and excited that the special of the day was sopaipillas pasadas, which is a very traditional thing to eat on cold, rainy days. Sopaipillas are kind of like doughnuts, but made from pumpkin. They are then in immersed into a thick sauce made of molasses, oranges and cinnamon- it's the ultimate comfort food. In the end, I ordered sopaipillas, empanadas de carne (beef) and marisco (seafood). We also had empanadas de queso (cheese) for our table and a nice little bowl of pebre (Chilean salsa made with tomatoes, onions, cilantro and aji. Aji, by the way, is a Chilean chili pepper). Oh, and of course we got a little basket of pan amasado (Chilean-style bread). I was really impressed with the amount of items on the menu. They had everything from humitas, which we tried and were delicious, to "Cachantun" brand mineral water, to sopa marinera (my friend ordered this and she said it was ok but too "fishy"). From what I could tell, though, everything was cooked in a very, traditional way. The service was fantastic at this small, family run-restaurant and the waitresses were really friendly. The restaurant also features a small grocery store and they carry a lot of hard to find Chilean items (turron de mani, queso mantecoso, pure de lucuma, manjar, a good selection of Chilean jams, dulce de membrillos, zuko juices, maggi soups, a good selection of Chilean wine, among other things) and also features a section of fresh bakery/dessert items, including alfajores, brazo de reina, torta mil hojas, dulces chilenos, flan, etc. The store also carries Chilean movies, magazines, crafts, and other memorabilia-type items. in Miami there aren't many Chilean restaurants. but, since my bf is Chilean he took me to this place and raved about how good it was especially the empanadas. but, to tell you the truth i think its whatevers. could be better. this restaurant is a little hole in the wall located in a sweetwater shopping center, the restaurant is owned by a family which, you will always see them there working since, they don't have many employees. therefore, at times the service takes forever. the food is good and simple. for instance, the mashed potatoes to me is one of the best mashed potatoes that i have tasted in a long time. the atmosphere is laid back so, while one waits for there food you can watch the TV Chile channel which is always on. read more
