Good customer service Cindy helped me find the perfect vegan meal. Easy to find and good presentation.

ACTUAL ADDRESS: 302 Morris Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ 07208 With the exception of Pepe's BBQ in West Orange, I don't think I've ever eaten at a Peruvian restaurant that I didn't like. All Peruvian, Colombian--and pretty much all Latin American cuisines--restaurants serve huge portions when it comes to grilled meat, roasted chicken, or fried seafood dishes. Sabor Peruano follows that same practice. I had lunch here early this afternoon and I enjoyed everything my table ordered. Lomo a lo Pobre (Sauteed Beef, Tomatoes, and Onions with Fries, Two Eggs, and Fried Plantains) ($13) (A-): It's delicious, period. The rich sauce that the beef, tomatoes, and onions are sauteed in adds a saltiness that blends well with all the ingredients, including the french fries that were thrown in. The fried eggs on top of the large scoop of white rice were cooked over easy, so there was Instagram-worthy yolk action. For some reason, I tend to save the plantains until I'm done eating everything else. As usual, the plantains were fried to perfection. My lone complaint is the excessive amount of oil in the sauce. It was literally dripping off the fries as I pierced each one with my fork. Pollo Entero con Papas y Ensalada (Whole roasted chicken with fries and a salad) ($15) (A-): I was able to try the breast meat and I liked it a lot more than the Portuguese roast chicken. The main difference is that Portuguese roasted chicken seems to lack seasoning of any kind, except for the natural charred flavor from the grill. However, if I had a choice, I think I'd still pick the roasted chicken from Tito Polleria. For me, the chicken was probably roasted a minute or so too long. Nevertheless, you can't go wrong with ordering this especially when the spicy mayo and green sauce are served with it! Arroz Chaufa Mixto (Peruvian-style fried rice with beef and chicken) ($12) (A-): I see this on Latin American restaurant menus everywhere in Elizabeth, especially along Morris Ave. The cook was generous with the portions, including the amount of beef and chicken mixed in it. While it may be "Chinese-inspired," this fried rice seems to have its own distinct taste. Maybe it's the type of oil used or maybe the seasonings added, but if I tried this blindfolded, I probably wouldn't say it was Chinese fried rice. There's something different--and tasty--about this. For the more adventurous eaters like myself, check out the grilled heart, stomach, and intestines on the menu! They're on my list for next time I stop by. Also, shout-out to the guy who took my table's order! He was really nice and even opened our drinks for us. It's not that big of a deal, but it definitely leaves a good impression on customers. Great service, great food, and three happy tummies.

The food is great, reasonably priced, and they serve pretty large portions. Try the Lomo Saltado or the roasted chicken!

So I was very apprehensive to go to this location, especially because of some of the reviews that…read morespoke about ICE and I in no way wanted to deal with any shenanigans on our trip to New Jersey, but I took the risk anyway. They would have to take the whole restaurant because that's all there was there was Latinos maybe a small handful of Caucasians. This place was pretty packed on Friday with a DJ and karaoke but it's big enough that we didn't have to wait when we got there. When I say this food was amazing, I will have to say that it is the juiciest meat all across the board, the ribs, the beef, the pork, you name it and big portions of food. We all had an amazing time and left with leftovers that I was able to cook the next day and it tasted still as juicy and tender. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to New Jersey and going back to have some food!!!! Go Colombia

This place is undeniably beautiful. The décor is stylish, the space is huge, and the overall…read moreambiance is definitely the standout feature. It's the kind of spot that immediately feels impressive when you walk in. As for the food, it was fine for the price. Not bad at all, but nothing particularly memorable either. The small downside for me was the service. It wasn't as quick or attentive as I expected, and it took longer than I'd hoped for our order to arrive. A side order was also forgotten which wasn't a big deal, but it's just unfortunate it never arrived. With that said, I can absolutely see myself coming back for large group events or gatherings because the space is perfect for that. Just keep in mind that you may need to be patient when ordering, as things can move slowly. Great atmosphere, decent food, but service could use some improvement.

Where do I even start... The food is great, honestly, it always is. I usually get the Don Moro with…read morechicken, and it's consistently a 10/10. The portions are generous for the price, and the juices are amazing. The atmosphere could use some improvement. The music was a bit too loud, and while I respect and support the vendors who come into the restaurant, some were very persistent; not just at our table, but others as well. It started to feel a little uncomfortable and pressured. As for service, it was a mixed experience. The staff running food and cleaning tables were excellent, very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, our server, Michelle, was the complete opposite. She didn't come to our table until about 20 minutes after we were seated. She took our drink order but didn't bring the drinks. We ended up waiting around 30 minutes, and even after finishing our meals, we still never received one of our Sprites. She also forgot our to-go order and never checked back on us, even though we clearly needed refills and boxes. Thankfully, other staff stepped in to help. Considering there's a service fee added, the level of service we received was disappointing. I really hope that fee is shared among the entire staff, because the rest of the team was doing a great job. Overall, the food saves the experience, but the service definitely needs improvement.
