After almost five years living in Chandler, I can finally say Arizona has a true Caribbean spot I…read morecan call my own. Most Caribbean places in the Valley are either scattered or food trucks that are hard to track down. But today was different--I was craving authentic island food and stumbled upon Hot Pot Caribbean Cuisine . My Jamaican side told me this was the answer, so I made the quick 10-minute drive. The restaurant, located at Arizona Ave and Warner, immediately gave me a warm, welcoming vibe. Spacious, family-friendly, and full of that "home" feeling. The owners are wonderful--genuine, kind, and quick with service. My daughter felt so comfortable she was happily playing around while we waited. Now, the food. If you're new to Caribbean dishes, here's my quick guide: * Jerk Chicken - Spicy, bold flavor. * Curry Chicken - Mild, flavorful, not too spicy. * Curry Goat - Tender goat meat, rich curry blend. These three are a perfect starting point. If you can't decide, get a combo--I went with curry chicken and jerk chicken, paired with a ginger beer (non-alcoholic but packs a kick). The portion sizes were huge, the flavors were on point, and the price--just over $30--felt like a steal for the quality and amount of food. In my book, this is an easy 10/10. Without a doubt, Hot Pot Caribbean Cuisine is the best Caribbean food I've had in Chandler--and honestly, in the whole Valley. I'll definitely be back with my family.

The memories and the taste just hit the spot. This little restaurant has seats to enjoy their fresh food inside or take it to go. It is simple not fancy at all. Please don't be in a rush or takes time to get the food ready but it's with the wait. They don't make the patties in house and the person up front didn't know where they were from. I'm from NYC so if they were from there I would have ordered it. The rice and cabbage are great and the meat was moist and delicious.

Had a wonderful experience with my lunchgroup of 7 last week. We ordered a variety of items, and…read morethey were all absolutely delicious. I have never tasted a curry chicken quite like theirs, and now I have a craving for more! We had quite a few questions, so the chef came out and personally helped us out. The service is a tad slow because they make everything to order, so plan on a nice relaxed meal - the food is worth it! I would definitely recommend you try this place. And - if you want a nice SPICY jerk chicken or pork this is your place!!

I recently visited Caribbean Palms and walked away with mixed feelings…read more First off, the service was great. The woman kept checking on me, and I actually liked that the cook brings out the food that's a nice personal touch you don't see everywhere. That said, the portions were underwhelming. I understand it leans more toward a dine-in experience, but the oxtail serving felt small. The presentation almost plays tricks on you it comes on a large plate with separate bowls for the sides, which makes it look like more than it actually is. On top of that, having to choose between cabbage or plantains felt a bit limiting for sides. The rice was a little dry and slightly hard for my taste, but I will say the plantains were really good sweet and done right. I couldn't help but compare it to another Caribbean spot I recently tried in Glendale, where the portions were generous and the oxtail was big, tender, and full of flavor. Here, the flavor was good, but it didn't stand out. I've definitely had better, so my expectations were a bit higher. Overall, it's not a bad spot it just feels pricey for what you get. I spent around $60 total: two cocktails at $15 each, plus the oxtail at market price (which can run $30-$40). The biggest plus is convenience it's close to home, so it's an easy option when I'm craving Jamaican food. But if I'm being honest... next time, I might still find myself making that drive back out to Glendale.

We just finished eating a Philly Cheesesteak next door, but I couldn't resist coming here to try…read moresome Colombian arepas! I must have had a brain fart or something because right after I walked in, the worker greeted us and immediately told us they had empanadas. He said they had chicken, beef, and cheese empanadas. I immediately ordered three chicken and three beef. I forgot about the arepas. The guy said it would be ten minutes. So we browsed their store. As soon as you walk in to the business, the small place looked like it is set up to ship packages. It has a small grocery store in the back, and has a kitchen on the side. The whole store was small, but clean. There was no seating in this place as it is not a sit down restaurant. Food orders are placed to go. Almost ten minutes exactly our empanadas came out. We took them to our car and ate there. We wanted to eat them fresh and hot and boy were they steaming hot. I loved the crispness of the shells. The filling was very flavorful and moist. I dipped them in the salsa and they had had a nice kick. They were delicious! We were able to polish off four. After we arrived home some thirty minutes later, the empanadas were still warm and surprisingly still crispy! I ate the last two. I will definitely return to try their arepas!
