Now relocated in Ocala, good Latin food is hard to find. Sazon King's food is well seasoned, tasty, and well portioned. I ate the "Reina Pepiada" and the "Patacón Mixto". Both were amazing and comparable to popular Venezuelan Miami spots. My Venezuelan wife approved and stated "Que le da el sello de calidad Norven" and as a well traveled Jersey Cuban I'll add "Ñooo!" Big Lee's BBQ in Ocala absolutely delivered…read more From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome. The restaurant itself is modern, clean, well maintained, and has a really nice atmosphere. I ordered the meat and two sides platter with the burnt ends, macaroni and cheese, and street corn. At the register, they asked if I wanted to add ribs for about $5, and I'm glad I did because the ribs ended up being the star of the whole meal. Man... those ribs were incredible. The bark was perfect, the seasoning was spot on, they were tender, juicy, and basically fell off the bone. I originally came in wanting brisket/burnt ends, and those were very good too, but the ribs stole the show. The portion sizes were solid. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, the street corn was FIRE, and their Big Lee's tea was really good too. It almost has a Kool-Aid type flavor to it, sweet and refreshing. The meal also came with some type of biscuit, although I didn't eat that. Overall, great atmosphere, friendly staff, clean restaurant, generous portions, and top-notch barbecue. I came for the brisket, but I'll definitely be coming back for those ribs. Easy 5 stars.

The things that need to worked on like cleanliness of restaurant trash was over flowing. soda and tea machines were all not working at the time i went to get our drinks.someone told the staff and they eventually got out to fill the sweet tea, and get the soda machine up and running. When we got there the line was out the door amd down the sidewalk!.I double checked with the wife and she said well we had been wanting to try them and dont get down to Ocala very often so we opted to wait in line, eventually it was our turn i had the wife sit at an open table as the seating is extremely and i mean extremely limited. ppl were staging to get seats when ppl eventually got up after eating , I ordered our food ,at the time of ordering they bad everything i had ordered. by the time my order( 1 hr later )came up they were out of baked beans , so i got the wife corn nuggets. By the time i got to her with the food i had to refills her drink and finally sweet tea was full, There was a lady there who ordered , she told me while we were standing there it had been almost 2 hrs till she got her order.....!!!! Think with their popularity they may need to look into expansion if possible of the present location. or moving to a Much much larger location. And hire more help elevate the pressure off of the workers as they were definitely trying to keep up with the demand and sheer volume of customers.

This restaurant has been here forever, but gets really great inspections from the health department despite being an older building. We ordered to-go and ate in the parking lot. What a feast! We ordered their current special: a full slab on payback ribs and 2 sides for a mere $14.99. That was to take home, but we sampled it in the car and no silverware was needed. These ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy and thick. It was hard to remember that these were for later, we wanted them all now! Our sides were fries and baked beans. The beans were good, but the fries were nothing special. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich with green beans and hasn't stopped raving about the green beans the entire time he was eating. He said the sandwich was delicious, too! I like meat cooked well-done, so I ordered a burnt ends sandwich and coleslaw. What a happy surprise that the meat was thinly sliced instead of the usual chunks served at other places! Every single piece of meat was well-cooked, tasty, and not at all fatty or greasy. I'm a fan! The coleslaw was delicious, too! Our to-go ordered was served with a smile, plenty of napkins and silverware and ketchup and salt and pepper and barbecue sauce. I found a new restaurant to crave (again)!
