    DISGUSTING Beef empanadas
    Katie G.

Literally the WORST food ever. I asked for two chicken empanadas and one beef and they gave me ALL BEEF and let's got mention they literally TASTE AWFUL. have you ever heard of seasoning??? This is a disgrace for a restaurant and I want my money back. EMBARRASSING

    Yellow Rice and Pork

Tried this place just because I was in the area. The food I would say was just ok but the price absolutely floored me. I got Yellow Rice, Pork and a side of Chicharrón and the total for lunch was almost $23. The staff was great but no way I'll be back. Sorry In response to the owner's comment the person I was with paid around $12 for her lunch so if you are saying I paid for 2 meals then I was overcharged altogether.

New management!! Great atmosphere and staff. They're super attentive. The food came out quick and it was absolutely delish. Best mofongo I've had in a long time. So soft & moist. Prices are great for the amount of food you get. We will definitely be back

As soon as I walked in, it felt like home. (I'm Dominican.) The bachata music was the perfect touch. I went on a Saturday afternoon after a hangover so I was in need of some good food! They had a variety of things out to choose from. But we ended up ordering sancocho with rice and Mangu, salami and queso frito. The man who was there was so friendly and pleasant. He literally did everything! He greeted us when we walked in, he served the food, he cooked the food, he cleaned the tables, he got our drinks and was the cashier as well! I was quite impressed on how he held it down all by himself! The food was great, and they gave a good amount for the price. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in town again.

I stopped here for lunch when they opened their door, so there was only a couple items ready to order since they were still cooking. I got the roasted pork and rice, and I got the beef , corn, and yuca soup and it was great!

Came here today with my coworkers and a friend that is half Dominican so it was her recommendation to try this place. Glad we did! The staff is super friendly and the food was so authentic and flavorful. You walk up and order off of the buffet of food. They have lunch specials for $5.99 which includes rice, beans and a meat. I also added some potato to mine and was not charged extra. I absolutely love rice and beans and thee were so full of flavor. The chicken was AMAZING! Fall off the bone tender and wow so flavorful!!! I may be back here soon! Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Dominican food.

If you are looking for a cheaper big eat, this would be the place. You can pick it up as cafeteria style or menu style. I was looking to have some mangu, but that is actually served for breakfast. The typical Dominican breakfast from my understanding is mangu, eggs, salami, and fried cheese. We were there for lunch, so that is not available anymore. I tried the baked chicken which came with a huge mountain of rice, a bowl of beans, sweet plantains(they were colder though), and asked for a side of fried cheese. It was alright to me. No biggie biggie. They were nice to explain everything. It was easy to speak with them and ask questions. I just did not find the food a big deal. I believe it was about $8 for this entrée and a few dollars for the two pieces of fried cheese. They have different offerings such as baked chicken, pork, beef, boiled yucca, chicharon, and sancocho(beef soup). They also have mofongo(Puerto rican plantains), shrimp, and fish. The offerings reminds me of stew type food for the most part except the baked chicken, and the shredded pork.

This place is legit. Reminds me of moms cooking. I even went back next morning for breakfast. The food here is made with love. I wish they had Dominican restaurants like this back in Cali.

My boyfriend and I came to clearwater to vacay and visited this place, we just wanted a Dominican meal and a delicious Dominican drink and we got just as we asked... excellent customer service, price is just right, food portions was generous and the drinks were amazing, also bought a pineapple cake and omg soooo delicious!! Will definitely visit before I head back to NY. I did find this place on yelp! Great find!

Tripe with pig feet soup. Best dish.

Dominican restaurant that provide a lot vibe and economic dinning for the local. Many people are here for a meal in saving price. We are here to try out the food for the first time. The restaurant has the two choices for the food. You can pickup by cafeteria already cook or from the menu. We have order two dishes from the cafeteria and one from the menu. The first dish is a soup with tripe, pig feet, and veggie. Most people only cook tripe soup by it own. It is good twist with the pig feet. Good soup. The second dish is a tomato base whole fish. It look awesome but it not my liking taste. Fish meat is too loose. The third dish is a cook up dish of grill steak with onion. I can hear they pound the steak at the kitchen. I like my steak grilled with no sauce. But Dominican steak has sauce on top but a bit salty. The food is average. If I choose Latin food, I would go with Cuban style bistec. Service is cafeteria style.

First time here! After getting my nails done I was starving! This place was less than a mile away and bookmarked so I went for it. The place was quite empty for a Saturday around lunch time. They had the foods displayed so that you can choose what you want just seeing how delicious everything looks. I decided on baked chicken, rice, beans and a piece of Dominican cake called Biscocho. Everything was delicious and I ate every single ounce of it. They filled the tray up to the top so I definitely felt I got my money's worth since they are slightly more expensive than most of Spanish restaurants. They man behind the counter was extremely nice and tried to get me to try the 'flancocho' which is mixture of flan and biscocho. Next time, my friend. Next time. I will most definitely be back and I feel like this may be my go to for my arroz con gandules fix since it's so close by.

As I walk I'm there are two ladies behind the counter arguing with each other ( which never stopped the entire time I was there) I scan the counter and there's no food!!! NO FOOD it's 6:45 and all i saw was grits, potatoes and a woman brought out poached eggs. So I'm immediately disappointed. To make a short story long, I ordered grits and potatoes and she threw in a sausage patty (which ended up being the worst sausage I've ever eaten i literally spit it out.) This woman tried to charge me $9.66 are you crazy!?? I couldn't believe it No bacon No scrambled eggs No toast And you think this is a $10? Naw champ This is my first and my last time coming here. I asked about eggs and I was told 10mins. Come on this is a breakfast joint that opened at 6:30 you know folks are heading to work and can't stay and sit for someone to whip up some eggs. I'm sorry I have zero tolerance for this and I'm upset at my two friends who sent me here to ruin my Friday

I hate I don't have better things to say about this spot that we were really excited to try. I will…read moresay that upon arrival, everything seemed to be going fine. The owner greeted us at the door, it was fairly empty so there was no wait and we were seated right away. The ambiance is nice. It does look like you've stepped into the VIP area of a restaurant, so it was cute -- not fancy, but cute. The owner then told us about the restaurant being inspired by his mother, they've been around for 10 years, explained the menu etc., it was nice. He also told us that he hadn't been to Jamaica since a kid and that raised an eyebrow -- but we let it go because he wasn't the cook. MIND YOU, I brought my cousin here (who is Jamaican) after seeing decent reviews about it. He brought over our first round of drinks and they were really good. We really enjoyed them. They weren't strong at all, tasted like juice. So I would recommend just getting juice instead of the +$5 to add rum. As we began to order and look at the menu, the prices were really HIGH, but I guess he was going for upscale cuisine -- so we said OK, let's see what this entails. We all ordered the Taste of the Island plater that gave an oxtail, curry goat and jerk chicken, rice and peas, plaintains and a tiny side salad. I wasn't mad at the portions given, but the flavor didn't hit the mark at all. NOW LETS GET INTO THE FOOD The Jerk Chicken was OVERLY spicy; we couldn't even enjoy the flavor. The oxtails were fatty, sweet and BLACK. Not enjoyable at all. The goat was OK, but not very flavorful in my opinion. The beef patties were good, but probably out of a box. The Roti was good and the oxtail dipping sauce was good. The Honey BBQ Wings were pretty good and cooked well. The Mac'n'Cheese -- DO NOT GET THIS. It literally has NO taste and reminded me of the cup mac'n'cheese that you put the powder cheese in. It took so long to bring it out, I guess he kept forgetting about it (they said everything is made to order) -- which, IDK how you make mac'n'cheese to order. Real cooks know, Mac n cheese is NOT a 5-minute made to order meal. He also didn't ask how we enjoyed the meal -- which I felt like he knew what we knew when he saw that not only did the other table leave a plate full of food (the meats) but our plates resembled the same -- he still collected his coin. There is a 20% gratuity that is added on at the end that is ridiculous considering the prices are already so expensive -- MIND YOU, it is not "Elevate Cuisine", its basic Jamaican dishes on Ikea plates. No special plating, no unique sauces or display, no chef's plating or anything. Just a plate of food. Everyone's bill came in over $100. The table nearby us order the same thing and inquired whether or not we liked our food, but we'd just gotten our food and hadn't tried it yet -- we did warn them about the chicken being spicy, but not everything else. They came after us and left before us and left everything on the plate except the rice and peas. I love black owned businesses and I wish this much more success, but I would NOT recommend it to anyone that is looking for authentic Jamaican food.
